  1. Is Matty Platt now injured? Or has he just lost his place in the team currently?
  2. Sounds like another good signing but can you have too many midfielders? We seem to have over loaded midfield and still require another forward. Can you also have too many players on loan?
  3. Yes, good game, I thought it was the most entertaining home performance i have seen since at least January if not longer. Good pressure, less going backwards, more attacking minded and more aggressive in fighting for the ball and a corker of a goal from Cotter! As others have said , I feel better about going into the season following that game, if we can play like that against teams in our own division, we should be OK.
  4. What had Luke got to do with Newport? Did he coach there previously?
  5. I am going to say, I think he probably will / should replace Macari. Macari is OK defensively but going forward I still don’t think he looks that comfortable and confident in the choice of forward pass to make and then ends up a little too often for me, going backwards.
  6. Sounds good and a leader at a young age. Have all Notts signings thuis summer, so far been loanees and free transfers? Have we actually paid a proper transfer free for any of the players yet?
  7. I thought it was a good honest post match interview and that he appeared to say it how it was. From mentioning that there was a lot of work to be done, to stating that he wasn't happy that Macari gave the ball away twice early on. He also made me smile lateri n the interview, when he said something about the quality of the pitch but said its not an excuse, play better!
  8. Maybe we should have kept Tyler Miller? Or maybe he didn't really impress on thetraining field. I hope some signings are coming soon, as the squad feels quite thin again and if we have injuries like last season we may be in trouble.
  9. If we don't get another keeper quick, looks like Harry will be the only keeper doing the tour of Germany!
  10. Gutted, I usually remain optimistic as much as possible when it comes to Notts but with recent departures including ones named above and now Bass, I can't help but feel that if Notts were going to get promoted, it was last season, and that this season is going to be fairly standard in comparison. Feeling fairly disappointed currently, but hopefully the new exciting tactics are going to make up for it!
  11. Fleetwood could possibly finish higher If they sign Jamie Vardy! Maybe we should sign him, sometimes these old boys do the job, like McGoldrick last season.
  12. Not heard of Martin Paterson before, but I will give him my full support and hope for the best. What happens to Joao Alves now? As his role has been taken by Andy Edwards?
  13. I hope he does well. Has seemingly shown passion and determination to get back into the game following injury and time out of the game. There has been some negative comments on Facebook about him coming from the national league north and how is this going to get us promoted, it is a concern that he has come from the national league north, but all we can do is support him and hope his desire to prove and improve shows and is rewarded.
  14. Looks good in terms of needing a leader, as it states he is and has been captain numerous times before and being street smart in relation to game management, I think this is what we needed more of. But a bit concerned that Preciously has had a knee injury and currently has a calf injury.
  15. I have satin both the Family Stand and the Kop on occcasions in the past. Nowadays that myself and my youngest daughter have seasons tickets and go to the home games together, we sit in the Pavis nearthe half way line but just a little towards the kop end. We talk to the people around us and is interesting to sit near to the away team dug out to see and hear what's going on
  16. I agree with Robbie that the new players need to be strong/physical and that we need a leader, but I would also like to see a bit of an antagonist, bit of a rule breaker, like other teams seem to have, just to mix it up a bit. Notts always just seem a but to nice.
  17. Are we missing out on the potential better signings, due to the delay in appointing a new manager and by clearing out the departing players first? Although I understand the importance in taking the time to select the right manager.
  18. @Robbie I agree, you would have thought the new manager might want some input as to who leaves and potential incoming.
  19. I agree with the teams that you have listed as teams we need to look out for. We urgently need to start moving on the signing of players, I think we need some experienced players along with some players that are a bit tougher and savvy, that can flirt with a bit of rule breaking, antagonise opponents and are willing to approach the ref when required, other teams in the division all seem to have these sorts of players, and so, although, not the ways Notts have previously played, I do feel we need to bring an element of this into our team and game.
  20. It's all very concerning, no manager, no Didzy, as stated, our best player and we need players with experience but we always seem to get rid of them. I hope the new recruitment guy is good, we are going to need him to be. I also hope the absence of a named manager is not impacting on any potential incoming player negotiations, as I expect new signings would like to know who they are playing for. Personally I think Notts should have paid to keep McGoldrick for his ability and his experience around the younger players as as O"Brien and Bostock before him. As it stands now, the season ahead is already feeling like I challenge.
  21. I didn't think Sam Austin would be leaving us.
  22. I think it was a yellow, the shirt was being pulled off his back and was getting pulled further and further away from the ball, so the game should have been stopped there. In first look it does look a bit over enthusiastic, he does will the ball pretty clearly though. If you look at some of the slow motion replays, he starts off 2 footed but before he reaches the players, his left foot, touches the pitch, studs down, ok it may have bounced back up again but the contact with the floor would have taken the sting out the left foot. The right foot won't the ball, so for me the tackle was a yellow. What happened after, maybe a red as you can't push people upright or laying down, but if it was a yellow, none of that wouls have happened. There also seemed to be a lot of Wimbledon players getting involved around the ref, holding other county players and obviously play acting, maybe there should have been some more yellow cards.
  23. Yes would definitely offer him another contract due to what he brings on the pitch and the touches that can turn a game but also the experience and advice he can provide off the pitch. I think we lost a lot of that when both Jim O'brien and John Bostock left, I think the value of this to younger and inexperienced players is invaluable.
  24. @Robbie I again, pretty much agree with what you have said, but I'd fit enough still prefer to go with McDonald over Macari. What about starting with McGoldrick and trying to get ahead early and get the job done and then bring him off? And hopefully not end up chasing the game.
  25. Totally agree with your thoughts and pretty much the line up but at this current time I think I still prefer McDonald over Macari and perhaps keep in Whittaker over Grant just because in recent games even if he has not done much, he seems to be able to still pull out a goal, and then put Grant on the bench instead of Edwards, who has not been great of late.
