Team Building: What Now?
Jak Alnwick, Jack Walton, and Ben Amos all look like good goalkeepers. I’ve heard some stuff about them, and they seem like they’d be strong options in goal. Jason Kerr, Odcar Wallin, and Jerriel Dorsett could help tighten up the defence. I don’t know loads about them, but it sounds like they’ve got decent experience. Harvey Knibbs, Dan Kemp, Odin Bailey, Nick Powell, and Chris Sze might be exciting to watch in midfield. I’d be interested to see how they’d fit in and help make chances. Will Evans, Rhys Healey, Jayden Stockley, Richard Kone, and Issak Davies all sound like forwards who could score goals. If we got one of them, it’d be cool to see how many they could get.

The Grant Paradox
https://gaschat.co.uk/thread/23206/signed-romaine-sawyers?page=1 If Martin Paterson gives Conor Grant the support he needs, I think he could become a better player who creates more chances and scores more goals. Players like him do well when someone believes in them. I like how Grant plays, but I’m not always sure he should be in the starting team just yet. He tries hard and is still learning, so he just needs more time to grow. I’ve heard Romaine Sawyers did alright in the Championship, but not all West Brom fans were big fans of his. It sounds like Bristol City fans were split too. I even shared a link where some of them were talking about it.

Alfreton
I liked listening to Luke Williams because the way he spoke was really interesting and made you think. Martin Paterson is different, he talks more straight to the point and sounds like someone who really knows football and wants to learn every day. I thought his answers were good. It would be better if the people asking the questions sometimes pushed him a bit more, not in a mean way, just so we could understand better why he was upset with Lewis Macari, and what he thought about the other players too. It would help to know if he plans to work on those mistakes in training.

Weekly Chat - Monday 7th to Sunday 13th July
I was so excited to get home from school today. I was hoping to see some news about a new signing, but nothing yet. There’s still time though. It’s been a nice day, even though I’ve been stuck inside. Some people just kept going on and on about the same thing, and it got a bit boring. Tomorrow will be better. I’ve got football to look forward to, and even though I’ve got double maths after, it’s still the best day of the week.

New signing Barry Cotter
I think I saw him warming up before the game against Alfreton Town, but after that, I didn’t see him again. I don’t think he got on the pitch. I should probably check if he was on the bench, but from what I remember, I don’t think he was.
-
Alfreton Town v Notts County
There were lots of good things to take from the game. It helped Paterson see what still needs work and how to get the team playing the way he wants. I really liked what he said after the match. He answered the questions clearly and didn’t make any excuses.

Poetic Pies
Nice poem, Michael. I have to write poems sometimes in English, and I find it really hard. That’s why I think it’s great when someone else does it well. You’ve done a good job.

Club World Cup
I’m not really a Chelsea fan, but since they’re the only English team left, I hope they win. I’d rather they win than someone like PSG or Real Madrid. It feels better when the trophy comes home.

New signing Barry Cotter
What I think we missed most about Aaron Nemane was how he could cut the ball back and make chances just by running with it. He was really good at that and could get things going when nothing else was working. I didn’t think he was the best at defending, but when it came to skill and speed, he could twist past defenders like it was easy. I do agree, we did miss him sometimes.

New signing Barry Cotter
@DangerousSausage, some fans might not agree about this signing, like when people argue about liking coconut. Right now, everyone’s feeling a bit low and not very confident. But when the season starts, having a player like this could really help Notts. He likes to go forward and attack, and that’s what we need. I remember him playing for Barnsley, so the fact they wanted him shows he must be good.

Alfreton Town v Notts County
Some fans might want us to win by a lot or play really well, but it’s the first game since last season ended, so it might not look that good. That’s okay though. What really matters is making sure the players stay fit and get some time on the pitch before the League Two season starts. I hope Alfreton play nicely and remember it’s just a friendly match. I don’t want to see anyone like Jodi getting kicked or hurt. It would be really bad if someone got injured this early, before the season even begins.

Peterborough friendly cancelled
Why worry about it? Alex Bass has left now. He did well while he was with us, and we’ve got good memories to keep. We don’t even support Peterborough United, so if they cancelled the friendly, that’s up to them. And if Notts cancelled it for some reason, it doesn’t really change anything either. It’s not a big deal.
-
Stuart Maynard statement
Some people who didn’t like him before will now say nice things, but they didn’t really support him when it mattered. That feels a bit fake. Stuart’s message is a kind goodbye. I don’t think he failed, he just didn’t grow or learn as fast as the club needed. The board thought it was time to try something new, and I get that. I just hope it turns out to be the right move. I really want Martin Paterson to do well and help the club succeed, just like I hoped Stuart would.

RIP Diogo Jota
I saw it online and had to make sure it was real. At first, it felt like one of those made-up stories someone posts as a bad joke. I was shocked when I found out it was true. It’s really sad news. Diogo Jota was a really good player, and it feels so unfair. He will be missed a lot, and hearing about this just makes everything feel even sadder.

Can Our New Head Coach Get Notts Promoted?
To be fair, it does help us see how our thoughts change over time. It’s like a test to see what we think now compared to later. I get why some people think it’s too soon. Things are still starting up, and we don’t know everything yet. Right now, I don’t think we’ve got enough new stuff or got much better than last season. It still feels the same.
-
Can Our New Head Coach Get Notts Promoted?
I don’t feel like Notts will go for promotion right now. If we don’t go on a good run, I think the best we can hope for is making the play-offs. We really need a strong goalkeeper and more players who can score goals, especially someone who can do what David McGoldrick did. Even though the squad is good, it feels like we’re missing a lot. It doesn’t seem like we’ve got better yet, and I don’t think going up is possible at the moment.

Weekly chat - Monday 30th June to Sunday 6th July
Hearing at school that Notts had sold Alex Bass made it feel like the day had taken a real turn for the worse. At first, I didn’t think it was true, but it’s happened. All I can do now is try to focus on who’s coming in. I feel quite unsure about the pre-season at the moment. Hopefully there are no more shocks to dampen the mood further.

Bass has been sold to Posh for a 'substantial' fee
The comments show how much of an impact Alex Bass had at Notts in just one season. He became a key player and clearly made a big impression. I’m disappointed we’ve sold him, but to be fair, I didn’t expect someone of his quality to arrive in the first place. There are still lots of decent goalkeepers available, definitely more than free-scoring strikers. I trust the club to find the right one to come in and do the job.
-
Sam Austin to Southend.
I thought Sam Austin was a decent player to have in the squad. I reckon he’ll do well at Southend. He just needed to stand out a bit more for us near the end of the season. But back when we were in the National League, he was proper good.

Anyone good with Photoshop?
When I grow up, I want to work in graphic design and maybe be an architect too. I think both jobs sound really cool. I’m already pretty good at using Photoshop. I’ve made lots of thumbnails for my friends’ YouTube channels. It’s fun to be creative and make things look awesome.

Christopher Reedtz interview with BBC Radio Nottingham
The club is in safe hands because the Reedtz brothers are building it up with better stuff and changes behind the scenes. At first, they worked on making things better on the pitch. Now for the last few years, they've also been improving things off the pitch. That helps us get ready for promotion and makes the club stronger. What they’re doing now will help in the future too. Instead of waiting until we’re in a higher league, they’re sorting things out bit by bit already. It might feel slow to some fans, but that’s how football works sometimes. I thought the interview was really good. I’m glad we’ve got owners who use the media properly. Even though it would’ve helped to have the interview earlier when we were getting a new head coach, I still liked it. Maybe just a short and honest update would’ve helped stop the silence.
