I’ve got great respect for Mark Stallard and I love to hear his thoughts on the game, thanks @PON_News for posting this article as I missed the commentary and the analysis afterwards.

I’m really excited to see Chicksen back but I realise he may not be up to speed after a long lay off. Go Chicks!

It’s a brutally honest assessment from Luke Williams as always, I’m confident he will turn it round and come January he will hopefully get a chance to strengthen the team defensively.

I’m looking forward to the reports from supporters who travel to this game it has the makings of a cracker, if Notts play to their full potential there’s no reason we can’t bring home three points.
COME ON YOU PIES!!

Signing Dan Crowley was an absolute master stroke, hats off to the recruitment team and of course to Luke Williams for turning him into a player that fits the way we play. He’s a fantastic addition to the squad.

Great to hear about Jodi’s family including his great Nan being there to support him, I bet they were disappointed when he didn’t start though, I agree with @liampie he should have played from the off.

Luke is absolutely right we’ve played some outstanding teams in the last few games and we haven’t been a mile away in matching them (Mansfield apart) even though results have gone against us.

I admit I was a tad worried but I’m glad the story has been put to bed and we can concentrate on matters on the pitch. Luke Williams is a great manager and I hope he stays with us for many more years.

As I said in the match thread this will be a very hard game for us and all the players will need to perform 100% to get anything out of the game. A draw would be a great result a win would be absolutely tremendous but with the amount of players unavailable I’m pessimistic.

Unusually for me I couldn’t even be bothered to listen to the radio commentary consequently I’m not the slightest bit concerned that we lost it was a run out for some fringe players and that’s it, we move on to more important matters.

Notts have certainly moved quickly to secure a replacement for Palmer and what a signing! Dan Gosling is straight out of the top drawer and will be a fantastic addition to the squad, the only shame is that it’s a short term signing, I wonder if they have eyes on a more permanent arrival in January?

McGoldrick has a lot of experience he’s “been there done that” in almost every sphere of football, we will need to tap that experience in the coming games against top teams in the division, I’m confident David will impart his knowledge and experience to help us through.

please dont say this, we have lost enough this year with @GrannyPie.
besides we could have a down pour of rain across the uk and gillingham call the game off, but dont mention that bucket please. we want you fit and healthy for many more years.
Just my black humour @liampie the bucket will stay upright for many more years if I have anything to do with it.

Wow! That’s a great piece of writing and must have taken a lot of research well done @DangerousSausage.
I was around for the 2,000 game in 1952 but only six months old but I certainly remember the the 3,000 and 4,000 matches and if I don’t kick the bucket before Saturday I’ll still be here (fingers crossed), thank you for bring back all those memories

5,000 games is an amazing achievement, I feel like I’ve been here for 4,500 of them at least.
What a great gesture by the club to lay on free transport for the travelling supporters, we’ll done Notts.
Who knows Luke Williams could become another Nottingham legend.

Mark Stallard talks a lot of sense, I agree to his emphatic “no” when asked should we change the style of play, he’s exactly right because as he says this style of play has brought success, the team just need to work on the defensive side of things on the training ground and I’m positive that Luke Williams will be aware of this and working hard with his team to put it right. There’s absolutely no need to panic.

It must be hard for Sam not being a first choice for some games but he works hard and when he gets his chance he doesn’t disappoint, he’d benefit from a run in the team as a starter but with so many good players in the squad it’s difficult.

As usual Luke Williams is very measured in what he says endeavouring to keep expectations in check and he is right to do so these are very early days the team needs to stay focussed on the job. Excellent interview.

I didn’t see the game because I was on holiday but I’m pleased to read that McGoldrick was an integral part of the win, I said when we signed him that he would be a very very good signing at it’s proving the case. If we can keep him fit and injury free I foresee lots of goals and assists from him but that’s not his only contribution he will be a massive influence in the dressing room with his knowledge of the game with his years of experience and after playing in the top flight.

There’s no doubt the atmosphere at Meadow Lane these days is electric of course this is partly down to the way the team play football which in turn is down to the manager and his staff who were appointed and are supported by our great owners. The fans also have their part to play they can literally help the team get that crucial win over the line in difficult games it’s an amalgamation of everyone pulling together to help achieve success, long may the good times continue.

Isn’t it great to see headlines like this as Notts County supporters I’m still pinching myself to be honest, top of the league I keep thinking something is going to go wrong and spoil it all.

Managers and coaches hate games like this and Williams is no exception, they would far rather see a 1-0 win than a 4-3 win but for the fans it is really exciting, I wish I’d been there to see it.

On paper Notts are firm favourites and we should be able to overcome the opposition BUT we have to guard against complacency both in the stands and most certainly on the pitch, no match is a given and I’m sure Luke Williams will be instilling the need to focus into his players otherwise it could go horribly wrong.

It’s nice to read other fans stories of their journey supporting our club and Adam’s story is no exception, thank you for sharing it.

What a lovely story, it’s good to see fans migrating from over the river, Wendy’s fund raising for the British Heart Foundation is also very admirable, well done Wendy keep up the good work. And as far as I’m concerned it’s always been cool to be a ‘pie.
