@theAnticlough the tooth extraction sounds horrendous, I’m glad your feeling better.

Weekly Chat - Monday 11th to Sunday 17th August
Good morning, I woke Mrs. T up at 1 am shouting HELP! at the top of my voice, I was having a nightmare, thankfully we both nodded off again. I seem to have regular nasty dreams that wake me up heart pumping, sweating etc. it’s a real pain. Anyway today I have a doctors appointment about my blocked ears so hopefully I’ll get some respite from that soon. @theAnticlough i’ve had a molar taken out at the dentist, how does that differ from a surgical extraction, what’s the procedure, did you have to go to hospital?

The key to longevity?
I don’t think that is true, my brother used to say that so he drank like a fish and smoked like a chimney but sadly died of a massive stroke aged 55. I agree with @Robbie we can make life style choices that give us a better chance of living longer.

Game 3: Match Discussion: The Bluebirds (A)
Based on that it sounds like a 0-0 score line to me. Let’s hope Notts can find away through their defence and score. If we can score early n they’ve got to come out then it might be a decent game.

DATA CAN'T PREDICT THIS.
Maynard hasn’t got a crystal ball, how could he possibly predict that outcome? If he had taken him off he would have been criticised for taking our main goal scorer off who could have won us the game. We can’t see in the future, it’s only with hindsight that we think perhaps a substitution would have been wise. I do agree about data not being the “be all and end all” it does seem that Didzy may have been having a gentle dig at his previous employers which is a shame.

Didzy Watch
Didzy is doing really well he’s definitely proving that he was worth keeping for another season, I’m not sure how far apart his aspirations and the clubs contract offer was but I do wish the club had strived a little harder to keep him.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
That second half was much better, the subs made a difference Gordon looked lively and so did Dennis both were unlucky not to score, Dennis hit the post and Gordon had a good shot well saved Notts deserved at least a draw with that second half performance, I can’t wait for Jatta to return and hopefully another forward before the deadline. Lots of positives in the second half.

EFL Cup 1st Round: Match Discussion: The Latics (A)
Well I haven’t seen much to enthuse me so far in this game, the penalty was a really soft one in my opinion, watching the replay the player made the most of it I would go so far to say it was a dive. Notts are showing no real urgency, it’s almost like a practice match at times, I know it’s probably hot out there but it’s all very pedestrian. Luker is getting no service at all up front, I think their goalie might as well have a night off for all the work he’s had to do. I’m hoping for better in the second half. COME ON YOU PIES!

When a Home Game is Not a Home Game.
It’s a ridiculous idea and I can imagine the fans would protest most vociferously against this idea.

The Value of the Technical Board
If they listen to some of the fan base they’d be sacking the manager every time we didn’t win. 🤣

The carpet was laid in less than two hours, that’s pretty good going as it’s a long lounge diner and they are big rooms. We’ve got most of the furniture back now including “cheesy” our 50 year old Swiss cheese plant whose been with us since we were married and has moved house with us three times.

The Value of the Technical Board
I wonder if any of the playing staff are on the Technical Board, I expect that might have some valuable input? Maybe the club captain and team captain but where do you stop? Supporter representatives? I’m sure the technical board will bear fruit I can imagine a coach/manager is a lonely job any help they can get must be beneficial as long as it’s not a case of “too many cooks spoil the broth”. Time will tell.

San Sirrel 1933 photo
The cattle market was established in 1886 the picture was taken in 1933 so the cattle market would have been there, I think the land to the right of the ground is the cattle market what you can see are the animal pens.
