Martin Paterson mic'd up.
I’m encouraged to @Robbie but of course the proof is in the pudding, let’s hope it’s a good pudding.

Sadly I can’t write poetry but I will enjoy any offerings on here, @Michael D Pie. that is an excellent poem, I was left wondering until the end.- 35 degrees in the shade in our garden, it’s HOT HOT HOT 🥵

@Robbie definitely keep an eye on the bite, my wife suffers from insect bites she got one on her leg once and it swelled up like a balloon. She puts antihistamine cream on from the chemist to alleviate itching. If you are worried go to chemist or get a doctors appointment (if you can 🙄).- Strands word game

Morning all, another very hot day here, I used to love sitting in the sun, I can’t sit in the hot sun for any length of time now, unless there’s a pool close by or the sea to plunge in. I had a fright yesterday, as I was sat at a junction waiting for the traffic light to turn green so I could turn left there’s an old bank on the corner so you can’t see what’s coming round the corner, the lights turned green and as I turned the corner a fire engine was on the wrong side of the road going through the red light I hadn’t heard the siren, he swerved in front of the car at the front of the queue of traffic and just missed me. I’m going to look at my dash cam this morning to see how close it was, it was all over in a flash but could have been disastrous.- Weekly Chat - Monday 7th to Sunday 13th July
Who’s joking. I hated school, I hated work too, retirement is the way to go, you can’t beat it. Not if you’re retired, that’s another perk. Fan of Big Tone (smug pie) 😎- Update Your Status: Encouraging Members to Share Moments on PON
If this takes off should we ditch the weekly chat?- Martin Paterson Reflects on SV Darmstadt 98 Defeat but Sees Plenty of Positives
It sounds like the match was quite a fiesty affair from the reports I’ve read, quite a number of bookings and a bit of argy bargy involving several players from both teams. This seems to back up MP’s claim that he’s told the players to be competitive and get stuck in, he didn’t want it to be a practice match. Good for him, the more I hear the more I like.- Martin Paterson Reflects on SV Darmstadt 98 Defeat but Sees Plenty of Positives
I wonder what the players think about all the hard work, MP is certainly focusing on getting them fit, it doesn’t seem as if they are getting much down time. MP seems to have a plan as to preparing them properly it also sounds like he wants us to play on the front foot and be quite aggressive. I quite like that we’ve been too nice the last few seasons.- New signing Sonny Aljofree I assume

That’s what we are trying to do with @super_ram- Didzy joins Barnsley
What’s the betting we get Barnsley in the cup. 😂 It was a real shame he didn’t stay to end his career with us but I bear him no ill will and I don’t blame the owners for not giving him a better contract. Its football these things happen we wish him well but move on.- Match discussion: PSF - Darmstadt 98
As others have said the result isn’t important, although MP was disappointed we lost he’s realistic that the German team were a higher level plus I think someone said they were two weeks ahead of us in pre season training in which case 2-1 is a good result.- Soundtracks of Your Life
I’ve just remembered another song that brings back a sad memory. Shortly after we were married we lost what would have been our first child through miscarriage. “When a Child is Born” by Johnny Mathis was in the charts that Christmas, it never fails to take me back to that sad time when I hear it. Another Christmas song “It’s Christmas” by Slade reminds me of when I was an apprentice, we finished work at midday Christmas Eve and a load of us piled into the Salutation Inn on Maid Marian Way, the song was playing as we staggered out the pub at 2.30 (Closing time in those days) and it had been snowing heavily unbeknown to us in the pub, I had to be taken home very drunk by two older colleagues, my dad wasn’t best pleased I slept if off on the sofa while my dad sat drinking coffee with my mates chatting about steam trains. - Poetic Pies
