  1. Jaden Warner quickly caught the attention of us fans after his debut. I didn’t expect the club to pursue him, but it seems the recruitment team listened to fans who were impressed by his first appearance. He should be immediately integrated into the team and given the responsibility of neutralising threats.
  2. I’m also delighted for James Sanderson. He appears to be an exceptional talent, and the next goal should be to get him more playing time in our team. He’s performed well so far, and I really appreciate his humble attitude towards his journey, indicating that he doesn’t take anything for granted.
  3. His management approach is akin, albeit not identical. He chose to play in a manner that maximised Wealdstone’s goal-scoring opportunities while maintaining balance in defence. Under Stuart Maynard, we should see more organisation in our defence. The key for us is having a midfield that can transition smoothly between attack and defence.
  4. It’s wonderful to see a young player sign their first contract. As his contract nears its end, I hope he’s more involved with the first team and extends his stay by signing a second professional deal with the club. Our academy is making significant progress; we just need to give them playing time.
  5. Even if he’s on loan, it seems like a good signing. He needs to be played, and we must avoid the type of signing that Ollie Tipton represents. His height and raw talent could be advantageous if we position him alongside two experienced defenders like Aden Baldwin and Kyle Cameron. I’m quite pleased and have no criticisms.
  6. He seemed like a very effective player on goal. It’s nice to see his legacy being shared and continued.
  7. Best wishes to the Notts women’s team. The new appointments seem sensible and should help them ascend the league table.
  8. This looks fantastic! I’d adore a detailed model of Meadow Lane, but the Lego stadium appears equally impressive.
  9. The move to Rochdale is beneficial for both Notts and Tiernan Brooks. I believe his time in the Irish league boosted his confidence, which is crucial. However, Rochdale will be a bigger challenge that will test his readiness for regular first team football. I don’t think Notts has given up on him, as I’ve seen mentioned. I believe he’s gaining the right experience that will allow him to demonstrate his skills.
  10. Jodi Jones has defensive skills, but it depends on his setup. I wouldn’t single him out, but I agree that he could improve in this area. Last season, he often regained possession, but now he’s up against tougher players which will be more challenging. He’s an incredible talent, but we need to work as a team to win the ball back. We’re lucky to have Jodi Jones, who can create magic when we need it most. He’s far more of a sensation and consistent than Ruben Rodrigues was.
  11. On the rumour side of things, it’s been pretty standard. Some folks tried to stir up a Neil Warnock rumour, but it wasn’t very convincing. Stuart Maynard does match what we’re after, and it did seem like the club was trying to negotiate with someone already in a job. I reckon if we’d considered someone without a current position, the appointment would have happened much quicker.
  12. The debts mentioned are simply funds our owners have invested in the club to keep the finances in check. It’s termed as a debt, but I suspect they won’t recoup the money unless Notts are sold to wealthier individuals. That said, it’s a bit off the point I was making. Fans may fret when they see the figures, but it’s not as dire as it seems. I have faith that our owners will keep supporting the club as we aim to ascend the ranks.
  13. It’s a wise decision to appoint him as he’s had success in the past. Now that he’s at Notts, his record is just beginning, but I’m confident that he possesses all the necessary skills to progress and help us achieve promotion. League Two isn’t too different from the National League, it’s just more concentrated and has a higher calibre of players. These two factors should enable Maynard to excel at Notts. I’m thrilled to welcome him to Meadow Lane.
  14. Bristol City 0-2 Watford Norwich City 1-3 West Bromwich Albion Exeter City 1-0 Cambridge United Stevenage 0-2 Barnsley AFC Wimbledon 1-0 Crawley Town Barrow 0-0 Crewe Alexandra Eastleigh 1-2 Oldham Athletic Ebbsfleet United 0-3 Hartlepool United Joker
  15. I’m a big fan of Jim O’Brien, I think he’s the best choice to lead us. People are too critical of him. If Michael Doyle had been here, the squad would have been filled with his friends, unlike O’Brien who tried to assemble the best squad he could. I hope he enjoys the experience, even if his hairline might not.
  16. I’m upset that Luke Williams has left, but he’s left the club in the best possible position, which should make finding the next manager easier. The Neil Warnock rumour seems to be just that, a rumour. Would he step down to League Two at his age? He might prefer retirement, especially considering Mark Hughes’ unsuccessful stint with Bradford City despite his impressive managerial record at higher levels. I don’t have a specific preference for the next manager, I trust the board to make the best decision. I don’t think they’ll opt for a short-term solution, I believe Notts will be looking at the long term, just like with previous managers. It wouldn’t surprise me if they went for a young, unproven coach. Being a good coach or manager is about more than just experience. You need to understand the game and if you’re brave enough to give someone a chance, it could pay off. But it has to be the right person, not just someone picked from an academy or a semi-professional team. Experience isn’t the main factor when choosing a new head coach, because it can be gained in the right environment with the right support.
  17. Thank you. I value every comment and appreciate those who took the time to read my blog post. I have many unfinished drafts that I plan to complete and share soon.
  18. Hello, @Harry Buckley. I am pleased to be welcoming you to the Pride of Nottingham. It's also nice to know you will be among your family. I bet @super_ram is delighted to see you on here. He pretends to support Derby, but believe me he's here a lot and speaks mostly of Notts. That's no coincidence. ????????
  19. The gaffer (@Chris) is brilliant at Photoshop. I wish I could do even half of what he can, but it’s beyond my skills. I thought there would be more Notts fans capable of creating things, so hopefully, if they’re on PON, this will reach them.
  20. Just to clarify, I don't blame Aidan Stone. Conceding 5 goals can really dent your confidence, and while being dropped wouldn't be a positive, it would give him some protection. I think whoever we have in goal will come under criticism, and some of that will be justified. I have less confidence in Stone once we concede; he seems to become a bit hesitant, especially with shots aimed high, and his reactions appear slow. Once again, I don't think he's to blame for the draw against Grimsby because defensively Notts should have done better. I think Sam Slocombe would bring more experience to the role.
  21. I’m concerned that Stockport County will watch the Grimsby highlights and spot our weakness in guarding the goalkeeper. If Aidan Stone is playing, he needs to stay alert and work harder to shield the upper part of the goal. Many teams have realised that they just need to aim high. It might not be a popular opinion, but I’d prefer Sam Slocombe to start. I consider Slocombe to be our top shot-stopper, and he handles stress better. If Jim O’Brien continues to manage the game, I hope he considers who the back three are. I don’t mind Connell Rawlinson, but it depends on the opposition. Stockport seems to have a good amount of speed, which would make me hesitant to start Rawlinson. Notts just needs to ensure we apply pressure and create opportunities. Stockport isn’t unbeatable. We performed well against them on their turf, but we made it too easy defensively.
  22. I admit I’ve been relying on the dashboard, but I need to start browsing the community page as well. I think the forum layout of PON is fine, but the changes have made things much clearer. We need to continue the good work as a community.
  23. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @True Magpie. I am looking forward to working with you and seeing what we can come up with to make PON enjoyable for all. ????????
  24. I am sorry for the late welcome, @Robbie. I am delighted to see you have been joining in, and I look forward to getting to know you better. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. It's great to have you amongst us.
  25. A big thank you and well done to all. I’ve not been as involved as I’d have liked this month, but it’s moments like these that make being part of the PON community so rewarding.
