I really don't like the username Mum, I don't mind changing Super Ram's to 'Grumpy Grandad' but GrannyPie just doesn't suite you.

Now this is a surprise, it will be interesting regardless of nicks. We can make sure Super Ram knows his place here too, whaha haha Welcome to the community!
ps. Who's idea was the username?

When we had grandchildren my wife insisted that she be called Granny, she didn't want to be a grandma or a nanny or nannar, she thought Granny was more with it this day and age.

Our kids always called their grandmother's grandma (surname) to differentiate between the two grandma's.

I considered being a grandpops or grandpa but that sounded too American, so Grandad I am.

Yes,  Liam,  I'm having to develop a thicker skin but I like to think that this community is one big, happy(except when we lose) family regardless of family ties or team we support. :cheer:

I've just realised I spelt "welcome" wrong in the thread header, to think I used to be in the printing trade. :panic:

tonyhateley  My old boss will be turning in his grave.

I think I'm right in saying that you once worked for 'The Derbyshire Times'(I think you mentioned it in an old post-and in spite of what certain persons say,I do have a fairly good memory)Did you know of anyone by the name of Tommy?I only ask because my cousin's son works there-He used to be a Man U fan(my cousin supports the unmentionables) Just wondered.

Hi Super

Oh dear, it seems I am in danger of blowing my cover and revealing my true identity.

Yes I did work with Tommy he was in my team a great lad his second name begins with B, he is a big Man Utd fan although he never went to see them :rollonfloorlaughing:

He doesn't work there anymore he went at roughly the same time as me when they shut the department down and moved it to Sheffield. I believe he works in a bookmakers now. He was always very keen on betting. What a small world fancy you being related to Tommy, give him my regards when you see him, he will know who I am, I used to joke that I went out with a girl the same name as his mother and I could be his dad. :joker:

We used to have some great banter, there were F****st fans, Derby fans, Sheff Wed., Sheff Utd., Man Utd., Tottenham, Chelsea, Chesterfield, Mansfailed, you name it.............I was the only Notts fan in the whole place apart from a girl who was in Editorial.

Ay-up Tony ,

Your identity is safe with me(I had a peek at your Motor- home site a while back and enjoyed some of your videos)

I'm afraid that since my parents died I'm not in contact with my Alfreton area friends and relatives as much as I used to be ,though we all exchange Birthday and Xmas cards still. We've sort of drifted apart but do very occasionally  speak on the phone.I will mention you when I speak to them next. I think it's great to find such a connection.

Ah yes my videos, I hope you enjoyed them, I try my best but I'll never be as good as my late son he was the king of vloggers with his motorbike vlogs. He had literally thousands of followers all over the world. I sort of aspire to his achievements and took a lot of inspiration from his vids.
