Notts County signs former Arsenal academy graduate Dan Crowley on 2-year-deal

PON_News

Notts County has confirmed a new addition to their team as Dan Crowley, who signs a two-year deal with Notts County. The 25-year-old, who graduated from Arsenal’s academy, joins the club after leaving Morecambe.

Crowley quickly made a name for himself as one of Arsenal’s most promising young talents. He signed a professional contract in 2014 and progressed to the fringes of the first team while also being called up to the England youth setup.

The Magpies' board of directors are delighted to have him on board. Born in Coventry, Crowley began his career in Aston Villa’s youth ranks. His performances against Arsenal caught the attention of Arsène Wenger who brought him to north London at the age of 15.

A statement published on the Notts County website read: "As you might expect given his excellent pedigree, Dan has phenomenal technical ability which we believe can be deployed in deep and advanced midfield roles. He’s also very comfortable drifting into wider positions.

"He has so many strengths in possession of the ball – a wide passing range, incisiveness, brilliant balance, rapid acceleration and wonderful close-control. He’s a real joy to watch when in full flow and is also an excellent set-piece taker.

"Dan has tremendous experience from his many appearances in the Championship and League One, as well as in the Dutch top flight, and we think he’s a brilliant fit for our system.

"While we already possess tremendous quality in central areas, we felt we needed to add more competition and depth and Dan will certainly provide that.

"We also believe we can give him a structure and platform to thrive. We look forward to seeing him settle in."

Crowley quickly impressed with his performances at Morecambe and will now be looking to make a strong start to life at Meadow Lane. Notts County believes he’s a brilliant fit for their system and will provide more competition and depth in central areas.

The club also believes they can give him a structure and platform to thrive. They look forward to seeing him settle in and make an impact on the pitch.

This is a signing that should excite all fans. He’s an excellent player and someone who has been considered by fans as a realistic target. He has the ability to play at a much higher level; he just needs to settle in and find what works. I believe we will see the best of him at Notts - it’s one hell of a signing.

I am also pleased by the arrival of Dan Crowley. He has the ability to help us gain promotion. The recruitment is finally allowing us to add the right depth, and I think this will be money well spent. He’s a very good player who can reach his full potential by playing in our squad.

I don’t know much about Dan but judging by the reaction on here and elsewhere to the news of his signing it’s sounds like he could be a great addition to the squad.

This does indeed look to be a very good signing, and I’m glad you’re impressed. The recruitment does seem to be adding quality into the areas where we most need that extra bit of quality. Dan Crowley looks to be an excellent addition to the team.

Any player to come through the Arsenal system has something special. We just need to make sure we see it and get it in his performances on a regular basis. Welcome to Meadow Lane, Dan Crowley.

I agree that this is a great signing and that he should fit in perfectly within our team. It’s good to see that we are signing players who have a lot to give and who would be wanted by other clubs similar to us. He does seem to be a good signing for a side that wants to chase promotion.

Dan Crowley appears to be a crucial signing. I have been reading about the clubs he has been linked with and it is surprising that the rumour sites never mentioned this for us. It seems that some League One teams’ fans thought he was going to join them. I feel it is a very good signing.

It is a great signing and he should fit in well and do superbly for us. He could be a future Notts County star, signed at the right age!

I have been reading up on Dan Crowley and he sounds like a magnificent signing for Notts. He seems to have found his element at Morecambe and should progress nicely with Notts.

Everything I have read and heard suggests that we have made a good signing. I have seen some of his goals on the Football League highlight show in the past. He looks like a much better player than the League Two standard. I hope he shows us what he’s capable of.

I know when players come from a higher-up team’s academy it’s played upon, but I really do feel like this is a marquee signing. It seems like a blueprint for building a team to ensure the quality is there so that Notts is well adapted to life in League Two.
