Kyle Dixon Joins Boston United On Loan

Midfielder Kyle Dixon has joined Skrill North outfit Boston United on a one-month loan deal from Notts County.

Dixon recently impressed during a spell with Grantham Town in the Northern Premier League Premier Division, where he made seven appearances and scored one goal - in a 2-2 draw with Barwell on Boxing Day.

Good move for me, it's important that key youngsters get a chance to establish themselves and gain experience. I like Kyle, he's a pretty promising player but sat in our dev squad. It isn't going to help him as much as actual experience, hopefully he impresses them and attract interest from a League Two team.

Useful youth player IMO.

I agree. Regular, competitive football is vital in the development of the players.

The current ad-hoc development squad games are for me, the biggest problem with the youth/returning from injuries set-up.

An old fashioned reserve league with competitive games, or as in this case, even better, a loan to a team fighting for their points.

Yes this will be invaluable experience for Kyle, I hope he does well on his loan and we see him pushing for a place in the first team before long.

He needs the game time, I think we should try to loan our youngsters out quicker. Kyle's got something about him, along with his passion and drive - I see him doing well.

kyle would do well to gain proper first team experience, i dont really get the dev squad. theres nothing every mentioned at the mo, it seems a shame that we have youngsters who need to make the final cut.

i see us reverting to signing others on freebies and releasing our own.

Although I doubt he is on mega wages, but any kind of relief on the wage bill is going to be a positive in Jan (assuming there is some cover of his wages). Also, as everyone has said, match experience is never a bad thing for young players.
