Luke Williams : Sutton v Notts "we got what we deserved"

Featured Replies

He certainly doesn’t pull any punches does he? A good honest assessment I have confidence he will put it right in the coming games. In Luke we trust.

he said that its a positive that we did not get beat by double figures, i dont agree but everything else he is spot on with. even his decisions are very redeemable, it was like we did not do any home work on sutton by the way we played. I would have felt a little better if he could own up that his selection and tactics never helped us to get back into the game. its like everyone just accepted the loss once we was two men down and after aidan stone got carded.

williams is right the card did not change the outcome of the game, as he said anyone who says otherwise are lying but so would if i said it appeared he tried to change anything after stone was shown red. the game was still salvageable to a degree. so, its a bad day for all involved even luke williams. :(Β

I heard Luke Williams' comments on my radio when I retuned after Derby's match ended. He sounded very sincere and didn't hold back. The thing I don't get though is his comments regarding the sending off.SurelyΒ  being downΒ  to 10 men and sacrificing Jim O'brien had some bearing on the game if not the result.I haven't read any posts regarding the game yet apart from the above so I may have missed something.

He's spot on.

You'd assume that in most cases, but not yesterday. The players allowed themselves to be bullied yesterday, and I found it alarming. That shouldn't be happening even if you're a man down - if anything you've got to step up. It wasn't the team selection I'd have chosen, but if they don't compete the manager has every right to feel let down.

There was a chance that Notts could have pulled it back if Aidan Stone hadn’t been sent off, but it might not have made a difference. Notts have played just as badly before and then picked up once things had settled down. I think it was more than just a bad day at the office; Notts just looked woeful.

I've now seen the highlights, or should it be lowlights, andΒ  can understand totally Luke Williams comments.
