I was fearing this with all the freezing weather we've had.

Mansfield game already called off.

Well this will get some fans moaning whatever the outcome... If it gets called off at 8:30am they’ll moan it should’ve been inspected later. If it were to be called off at 2pm after an inspection they’ll moan as to why it was left so late. 🤷‍♂️

I think letting people know in good time is the right thing to do, we’ve been on the end of some awful last minute cancellations in the NL, it’s unprofessional and unfair on travelling fans. It’s supposed to be warming up overnight so I’m hopeful but it’s been bloody freezing this week.

the club will ensure the frost covers stay on whilst they warm up known areas, we have good ground staff that are good at handling this. mansfield wanted their weekend free, they called it off way too early but if the game does get postponed it will be done to protect both sets of players. for that i cant complain, i just hope they decide early enough not to waste peoples time.

if we pass this check with good opinions on the service being playable.

i think we should check at 12:30 again, then see how its doing. if things are still good, great. if it has become worse just save everyones time and call it off.

The forecast for tomorrow is rain after 10am so the ref might take that into consideration, hopefully the rain will melt the frost.

The ground crew will have inspected some areas and replaced the covers. The lamps will help to lower the risk of frost ruining the match, but the rain could cause more problems. It all hinges on how steady and how quick it falls. Notts has a solid history of handling much worse conditions than the current ones in recent years. I’m not too worried about the match being cancelled.

All depends how deep the frost penetrated. Air temperature is different to ground temperature so I would expect a slow thaw throughout tomorrow. Hopefully it will be on but the ground staff are going to have to be busy and work through the night.

Whilst I can understand some fans concerns that we might not be as bothered about allowing tomorrow to proceed, so that Stuart Maynard has longer with the squad. I personally don't think this is very Notts County.

We have had similar things done to us, and it's annoying.

Our grand staff always do their best to make sure games are playable and the ground is cared for. People are commenting about why the club has taken the covers off, I don't believe they have, and the photo will most likely have been taken at a different point in time (rather than yesterday). They will be off early in the morning and preparation will begin to try to make sure the ground isn't frosted over.

There's little point to delay, plus postponing the game will only make Stockport feel we are scared.

If it does get called off, it will be after a second or third pitch inspection and solely due to the conditions. We'll want Maynard to get to see what the squad has now, so that he can make suggestions on signings. Just my thoughts.

I hope the game can be played safely, and I am looking forward to it. The rain might help, as long as it's not too severe. I have faith in the groundsmen and the club.
