Looks like there were negotiations with Aden & the Club that may have seen him staying, but no agreement could be reached

Thanks for your service Aden, and playing an important part in Notts returning to the Football league

Your 2 goals against Boreham Wood in the playoff semi will never be forgotten.

Good luck Aden for the future.

Mark Stallard consistently on Aden..."There's always a mistake in him"

I think some have the issue to be harsh on Aden Baldwin, yes he made mistakes but the majority he was played into making them. The slipping and falling over, that could be annoying but I never faulted his effort. People don't remember how poor Richard Duffy was for us - I think him as a captain never reached the levels of criticism that the likes of Kyle Cameron and Aden Baldwin got.

The club probably said they were aiming to sign more defenders, and as such they wouldn't increase his pay to a level that both could agree. Alternatively, the club might have had it labelled as a release with the intention of seeing what he would want.

He's a good defender, but unfortunately his team mates weren't strong enough to form a partnership that was defensively strong nor less prone to mistakes. All of our back three have these moments, it's mostly down to pressure and poor passing. I wish Aden Baldwin all the best.

The not coming to an agreement could simply just be him wanting to stay and the club wanting to get rid! Interesting he’s only commenting now, we’ve known he was going weeks ago. Anyway, as has already been mentioned, those two vital goals in the Boreham Wood game will always make me think fondly of him.

Oh, and I'm still impressed by your ability @Chris to shoe-horn in a dig at Richard Duffy! You never miss an opportunity! ???? ????

I can't help it, but it's very true. To be fair, he should've been much better for us but even the first season he had under Kevin Nolan was masked with plenty of mistakes. Thankfully, we were better on goal that season.

PS. If anyone wants to join my anti Richard Duffy fan club, please DM me. ????

Ah, Richard Duffy. A little nudge from the attacker and Duffy was in row D in the Pavis...

With Macari and Platt in place, assuming we play a back 3, Baldwin wouldn't be starting in my opinion. I can't believe we made him any serious offer to stay. And I would expect Chicksen and Cameron to follow him next season, although in fairness, Super Stu got my captain looking like a L2 player by the end of the season.

Harsh but true. :joker:

I like Baldwin. Great pace, good on the ball, an eye for a pass. Down-side being his mistakes; slippy mcslipperson, wayward passes into the middle of midfield, big risk taking with no reward. Still relatively young and those mistakes could have been ironed out. Assume he was offered a more squad role than guaranteed starter, with wages to reflect that. Fair enough all round if he wants to be playing every week.

I’m glad he’s got another club, time will tell whether we’ve got the best deal or not.

Baldwin was a bit of a strange one, at times he looked outstanding, but as Stallard said he always had a mistake in him, and often an infuriating one too. And he definitely needed new boots! I'm glad he's staying in League Two, but maybe he can gift us a goal or two for old time's sake ;)

Nice to see Baldwin doing well. Their style probably suits him.
