Good morning everyone, I hope we’ve all got over the weekends disappointing result?

Yesterday I went to QMC to have my ear wax sucked out, it felt more like they were sucking my brains out, it was quite painful. I’d been waiting a year for the appointment after paying £50 to have it done by Specsavers and they couldn’t get it all out so referred me to hospital.

While I was at the hospital they tested my hearing, the consultant asked me how old I was I said 72 he then said “your hearing is perfect in 28 years you’ll hear the postman push the telegram from the king through the door” 😂

Good Afternoon.

The Sun is out for a time but it's very cloudy. We had rain overnight here but not as much as forecast

We might get some impact from ex Hurricane Kirk, now Storm Kirk, later on this week, which will largely impact France.

There will be plenty of rain in that storm, but most of the worst of it should miss us here.

Looking outside still plenty of Bees working hard on our prairie flowers.

work is still strangely slower than normal.

its weird to see the slack and people having more time to do other things which normally they would not have the time for. next week i have three days of elearning again. i dont really like being stuck on a computer to learn, i prefer to get hands on with things. after work tonight, i am going to see @CliftonMagpie. :)

did specsavers give any of your payment back? @Fan of Big Tone.

i hope its been worthwhile in the long term for you. it sounds awful to wait a year tho.

No they didn't the poor girl at Specsavers go a lot of wax out but really struggled to get the rest of the wax out but my ear canal is so narrow she was afraid of hurting me, the doctor at the hospital didn't have any such qualms.

@liampie If I write about the weather I put a disclaimer in there like should or might otherwise I just post the MET website. You just never know nowadays.

Here we have blue sky all around. I managed to do an hour in the garden 😂

Good morning it’s matchday, who’s going to Meadow Lane tonight? I’m going to watch it on Sky Sports + I think.

We’ve got to book our flu and covid jabs but they are making it difficult this year, instead of just going online and choosing an appointment we’ve got to fill in an online form to say what days and times suit us then two days later they send an appointment, seems a bit of a faff. I might just go to a pharmacy to get it done.

Good Morning, It's overcast again this morning here. There's rain on the windows, & the ground is wet. We've had the proverbial overnight rain once again

Glad that I did some work in the garden yesterday.

Hurricane Milton is threatening Florida & the track puts it going right through the middle of Florida. It has already been one of the strongest Hurricanes ever with sustained wins of over 180mph at one point.

It's weakened temporarily, but expected to become a Cat 5 again as it crosses warm gulf waters.

Good morning, it’s a bit foggy/misty here after overnight rain. Typical what we used to call Goose Fair weather, has the fair finished now? Did anyone go? I must admit I haven’t been for years, I know once it’s finished it’s Ilkeston Fair which I sometimes used to go to.

Good afternoon.

It was raining first thing this morning but it seems to have brightened up somewhat. The rain has stopped & it looks like we will get so bright intervals this afternoon

Did some tidying up in the garden yesterday while there was a break in the rain. Managed to pull plenty of weeds out the ground. I also took down a small tree. The roots came out quite easily with the wet ground.

I have finished for the day and have no work either, so it’s nice to have some free time. Is anyone up to much at the weekend? I don’t have a ticket for the Chesterfield vs. Notts match, so I’m considering my options for where to watch the game.

@Joshua They’re screening it in the Nest or if you have Sky Sports you can watch it on there.

Good morning everyone, it’s World Mental Health Day today, don’t forget it’s important to talk to people about how you are feeling and it’s important to ask folk how they are, depression can be a lonely place, a kind word here and there or even just a smile in passing can make a difference.

We are going to our sons house later to make some tea for Fred before he goes to scouts, as his Dad is in London on business and DIL is taking Chloe to an open day at the College she might go to. Fred likes to go out with his chums after school these days up to the park, hopefully we’ll be spared any broken bones from skateboarding etc., I don’t fancy taking him to A&E.

Have a lovely day whatever you are doing.

Good Morning all, it's been a lovely morning here with unbroken skies throughout the morning, although it is now starting to cloud over.

Looks like we had rain again overnight & the ground remains sodden.

It's been a wonderful sunny day here today. Right from this morning long periods of sunny weather.

Trouble is it's been cold and temperatures are going to drop again tonight.

I kept a gas heater on last night to keep chill away, first time since early spring.

Good morning it’s a cold start to Sunday.

I hope everyone has recovered from the thrilling local derby yesterday, we watched on the telly even grandson Fred was engaged at one point and actually put his phone down.

We’ve been sorting out our loft and found some documentation that suggests where Mrs. T’s great grandparents are buried, so we are going to have a look round the graveyard to see if we can find their grave this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning.

Overcast morning here again. Another bout of rain overnight. It's becoming a regular thing now overnight rain.

The weather forecast says it's going to be a fine day. Hopefully the clouds will lift then break & we will see some sun later on.

In the garden, our flowers are still holding on. Our prairie flowers are so hardy and last for weeks and weeks.

This morning there are some Bees on them trying to get the last amounts of nectar left.

Interesting to know that Bees usually travel less than a mile from the hive to collect pollen & nectar. The average speed of a Bee through the air is 15 mph, but can fly up to 20 mph.
