This is not a poll but just a discussion on who PON members think is their player that has excelled the most in the first 14 games.

Notts have had a great start to the season & in their first 14 games they stand in third place in the table, scoring 22 & conceding just 12 goals.

We have seen some excellent performances by all the Notts  players, especially the new ones that arrived over summer.

We can't forget the contributions from players who are out with injuries, such as Jones, Edwards & Grant, who helped Notts make a great start, & hopefully they will return in January.

The Notts defensive unit of Bedeau, Platt & Macari have been outstanding, with Bass a commanding influence between the sticks.

Tsaroulla & Gordon have excelled as Wingbacks & the midfield of Robertson, Abbott Crowley, & Palmer, (who is getting back to his best since his return), have all been commanding either defensively or going forward.

Didzy & Jatta are doing the business for Notts upfront. Austin has come in & played in different positions but has always done a job for Maynard.

And we can't forget the rest of the squad, players such as Martin, Brown, Cundy, Hinchy, Scott, McDonald, & Slocombe who've all demonstrated the strength of the Notts bench.

So my PON colleagues, we have an outstanding squad of players to choose from for your Player of the season so far. You can choose only one.

Just name your choice & why you chose that player, & maybe others that caught your eye.

I would say Jatta for his knack of being in the right place at the right time and scoring vital goals.

Tsaroulla is improving game by game, Bedau is solid at the back and good going forward on occasions. Overall it’s Jatta for me though so far.

It’s tricky because there are genuinely lots of very good candidates like you say. Jatta and McGoldrick have led the line very well, and Didzy has played in the deeper role and been just as effective there too.

Bass has been very good but there have been a few games where he hasn’t actually had a lot to do. Platt and Bedeau have come in and just helped to completely change our defence.

But I think because some of his early season performances were outstanding, Crowley just takes it for me.

Crowley for me. Close second, Bass, Bedeau and Platt for a much improved defence. Jatta for his presence up front

Biggest disappointments so far : Cundy and Hinchy

Close one between Matty Platt and Alex Bass. Both, along with Bedeau and Macari have contributed to a much improved defensive record. Platt has contributed two important goals which has got us 4 points.

The rating “calculated from more than 300 individual stats per player per match from Opta” has an opinion...

For me there have been four players that have stood out for Notts,

Matty Platt, Dan Crowley, Alassana Jatta. & Jacob Bedeau

Four other players warrant a mention,

Alex Bass, Nick Tsaroulla, David McGoldrick & George Abbott

My player of the season so far is Matty Platt not just for his consistent performances in defence, because he & his fellow defence men, have contributed to a vast improvement in the Notts defence since last season.

My Player of the Season So Far?

David McGoldrick. Didzy has produce some Excellent Displays on the Pitch and Scored some Vital Goals. I think his Contract ends this Season, and if this is his Swan Song he's certainly going about it the Right Way, that is to leave a Lasting Impression at the Lane, if he can keep up his Present Form until the Season's end he's going to be a serious Candidate to take the Title of Notts Player of the Season.

@Wheelbarrow repair man It would be also a great finish for Didzy if he could help get Notts promoted, but even if he doesn't, he's been a credit to this Club, for his leadership, his example to his colleagues & his performance on & off the pitch.

Actually, least we forget, Jodi Jones was magic before his injury

I was about to point this out, as I feel Jodi's form was bringing the best out of Dan Crowley. There was a period, whereby those two were very dominant in our team, very dangerous having them in our attack, and the injury to Jodi Jones seems to have impacted Crowley slightly - along with his own injury woes.

I still feel Dan Crowley has been immense this season, and would be my Player of the Season. At this point, at least.

If we spoke about "signings", then Jacob Bedeau has to be up there with one of the best recruited players, but you could throw Matty Platt and Alex Bass into the mix. It's a very interesting, and difficult thing to decide. It should make the Pride of Nottingham awards at the end of the season interesting.
