Today it is two years since we very sadly lost @GrannyPie who this section of the forum is named after.

For those that don’t know Granny Pie was the wife of @super_ram and the mother of @Chris our thoughts are with them and the rest of the family today.

Granny Pie was a lovely lady who I had the pleasure of meeting once, she was a stalwart of the forum and a voice of reason and she would also be quick to jokingly threaten anyone who fell out of line with her walking stick. She never had a bad word to say about anyone and was always willing to give friendly advice to younger members.

Bless you @GrannyPie may you rest in peace.

For many years, I dedicated myself to attracting more active members, focusing on various aspects, and even during that time, it felt special to be supported by my family. I greatly appreciated when Jake expressed interest and a desire to write blogs, among other contributions. The support from my parents has always been exceptional. Granny Pie cherished the website, took pride in my efforts, and extended her compassion to the community.

On the day my mother found her peace, we mourned the loss of a truly special individual.

Throughout the numerous challenges I have encountered, and the difficulties imposed by my mental health, Granny Pie carried that burden without a single complaint, never once prioritising her own needs. She consistently listened, offered her love, and encouraged me to pursue the correct path. Without the support of my family, I might have given up. Indeed, during the period when I was unable to work, I doubted my ability to continue because of my health. (when I was absent before her passing)

In her unique and endearing manner, she provided both encouragement and admonishment. She understood the profound influence my grandfather, Ray had on my life and my passion for Notts. There was not a day when my mother did not urge me to return to PON, even during her illness. This motivated me, though I now struggle to maintain that consistent drive due to my health. Nevertheless, I remain determined to make her proud. I aspire for both of my parents to recognise that the Pride of Nottingham is a significant accomplishment.

I am certain my grandfather and mother are watching over me. I deeply miss them both, but my mother was, quite literally, my world.

Thank you, Tone.

My thoughts are with Super, Chris, Cheeky, and all the family. Granny Pie was a wonderful lady, and I truly miss her presence on the site. I wish she could still be jokingly threatening members, as her banter and care were second to none.

May she rest in peace.

Yes,2 years ago this evening I lost my best friend.Whenever I came onto PoN I would read out the posts to her while she was knitting ,crafting or whatever..She always took an interest in members activities, like  has @Fan of Big Tone. posted anything today or is he gallivanting around somewhere again. She took a special interest in @liampie with him being a young member and was always asking me to make sure he was ok and was thrilled to exchange chats in person with him. That was  @GrannyPie though ,always more concerned about others even though she had problems of her own.I miss her.

She thought a lot of you, @liampie.I remember her saying to me that she was going to get her walking sticks on to you because you didn't call her by her real name.

Granny Pie was a wonderful lady who made PON such a fun place to visit. She brought joy and warmth to everyone around her, and her spirit truly brightened our days. Although she is greatly missed, her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew her. I am sending my love to Chris, Super, and all the family during this sad time. Please know that you are in my thoughts, and I hope you find comfort in the memories you shared.
