Notts are in sixth place six points ahead of the team in eighth place.

Five more games to go & there are quite a few games where the top nine are going to play each other in this five game run in. (six for Donny)

Points are going to be dropped by those leading teams. I think two wins & a draw should be enough to secure Notts a playoff place.

We have witnessed a much better campaign than we saw last season. The Notts defence has  been much better with sixteen clean sheets to show for it.

Notts have been very unlucky with injuries to their best players over the season, but Stuart has done well to keep Notts in the mix despite the loss of those players.

When we have lost matches all those matches except possibly two were very close & Notts were unlucky not to have seen a positive outcome in most of those defeats.

Getting to the playoffs would be real progress for the club, & if Notts do qualify, then anything can happen.

I totally agree finishing in the play-offs will be progress, from a results basis just finishing with more points than 61 is a step in the right direction and we’ve already surpassed that.

Even though Colchester beat us we’ve effectively got a 7-point gap from them due to our superior goal difference. It would be a pretty disastrous end to the season now if we did miss out on the play-offs given we’ve pretty much spent the entire season higher than 7th!

It’s going to be an exciting end to the season and I think there’ll be lots of twists and turns to come before we know who will be promoted and who won’t. I’m confident Notts can at least finish in a play off place. What happens in the play offs is anyone’s guess.

Ordinarily, I'd say it's play offs, but every week the results from the teams in the top three and in the play offs change the positions. This week it was our turn to blob it. Others will, so hold the line and keep the faith. Worse case scenario we will be in the play offs. Wembley is a heart-breaking place to be heart-broken, but I'm happy to take the risk.

It's squeaky bum time. If Notts don't make the top 3, I'd prefer if Walsall and Doncaster swap places. The playoffs will be wide open and a playoff place would be progress. League 1 would be a brand new adventure boys and girls. Think of the away trips and the teams coming to Meadow Lane. I'm getting ahead of myself......but......a man can dream........

Last season, after 42 games, Notts were in 15th place in League 2 having lost 19 games with a goal difference of 4 & points tally of 55.

This season after 42 games  Notts are in 6th place in league 2 having lost 12 games with a goal difference of 19 & a points tally of 68.

That's an increase in the points tally of 27% compared to last season.

Notts still have the playoffs firmly in their hands & even still have a possibly of automatic promotion.

There is still lots to play for before the season ends. There will be lots of twists & turns with the top 10 having to play each other & points will be won & lost in unexpected ways.

If you go by the stats the Notts team has improved markedly from last season. I also think that the overall standard of the league is much more equal than it was last season. Last term, there were around four teams dominating, but that's not the case this season.

That's why even at this stage, up to 8 teams have a chance of automatic promotion, & Notts are one of them.
