Hi @Robbie I’ve seen both the first two films but not Angel has Fallen, I’ll look out for that.

We sat out in the garden until late it was too hot inside, we only went in when MT’s T started to get worried about insects. Would you believe we had a take away curry for tea on the hottest day of the year? Yeah I know, crazy. joker

I'd usually steer clear of Gerard Butler films, but last month I took the family to see How to Train Your Dragon at the cinema.

For me it's usually just about stuffing my face with nachos, but the film was really excellent. I'd recommend it to anyone, if it's still on.

Morning all, another very hot day here, I used to love sitting in the sun, I can’t sit in the hot sun for any length of time now, unless there’s a pool close by or the sea to plunge in.

I had a fright yesterday, as I was sat at a junction waiting for the traffic light to turn green so I could turn left there’s an old bank on the corner so you can’t see what’s coming round the corner, the lights turned green and as I turned the corner a fire engine was on the wrong side of the road going through the red light I hadn’t heard the siren, he swerved in front of the car at the front of the queue of traffic and just missed me. I’m going to look at my dash cam this morning to see how close it was, it was all over in a flash but could have been disastrous.

I am glad you were safe, but it is scary.

When I was learning to drive, it amazed me how annoying and selfish ambulance drivers could be. I know people don't like hearing about people talking badly about them because they "save lives," but some of the drivers at times put others in danger; this applies to the police and fire services. Multiple times during driving lessons, I would pull in safely and receive praise from @Drivingmenotts, only to have an ambulance attempt to force me to move into a dangerous position for me. I would sometimes feel incredibly nervous, and it would cross my mind, "Should I?" but one look at Jim and he would say I was fine.

To be clear, I was in a safe position for all involved, and the ambulance could have easily gone around me. At a different time on a roundabout, every car made space and stopped only for the driver to choose to go in between the cars instead of by the side where it was free, and the driver swore at everyone passing by.

I agree @Chris I sometimes think these emergency vehicles rushing to the scene of some incident can cause more problems than the problem they are attending, I know they need to get to the scene quickly but it can cause them to endanger lives in doing so.

I do think the fire engine driver was reckless driving on the wrong side of the road overtaking a queue of traffic and going through a red light without regard to who might me coming round the blind corner i.e. me!

On my way to work in the morning or returning home I used to go along Western Boulevard, sometimes getting a lift or as a pedestrian. It amazed me that there were no collisions involving emergency vehicles.Because of the proximity of the QMC ambulances daily would race along the road.Anyone using this thoroughfare during rush hour times will appreciate how difficult it can be for all road users.Often an ambulance would be followed a few seconds later by a police car (or 2).It's very difficult for any vehicle to make way when there's no room to manoevre.I've seen people walking on the pavement have to move swiftly to avoid being hit by a car making way for an ambulance.

I’m forcing myself to watch Notts right now, wondering why we’ve arranged friendlies just to be second-tier German teams’ whipping boys. I know it’s only a friendly, but it’s not the losing, it’s the lack of competition that’s hard to watch.

The only reason I haven’t turned it off is the hope of seeing some useful changes in the second half. Honestly, I’d rather be out baking in the sun.

I think the point of it is that they'll expose our weaknesses so we can work on them @NiftyNick. Agree that it's a tough watch though. Darmstadt wasn't very different.

I didn't make it to Kaiserslautern today - I worked a lot of overtime this week (apart from Wednesday for the match - wasn't going to miss that one!). I feel absolutely fried now. I'm visiting the UK soon so it'll be time to buy chocolate for my army of nieces and nephews, possibly except the one who has just turned 18!

Won’t the 18 year old feel left out? Or do you suddenly have an aversion for chocolate when you turn 18?

It’s been another boiling hot day, not pleasant at all to be stuck in it. The heat’s really taken it out of me, sweaty and draining. I’ve been sat in my living room with two fans going flat out and the blinds pulled across the front. It’s still warm, but it’s finally starting to feel a bit better.

Watching Notts earlier was a similar kind of pain, totally unbearable at times. Still, I believe we’ll be ready for our level when the time comes.

Good evening all. It's been hot today but a little cooler than yesterday. It's still 79 deg F in the house at 9:45pm. It's going to be hot like that for a few days with the house bricks still very warm.

All the fans are blazing away again which makes it a little less uncomfortable.

Has anyone been watching the Live Aid footage on the BBC. I taped some of the day 40 years ago, Still got the tape but don't know whether it still works. Highlight for me was the Dire Straits concert with Guest Eric Clapton.

Pleased to see an all British pairing won the Wimbledon Mens doubles title for the first time since 1936. At the moment Britain is doing well in the men's doubles. The British winners were Julian Cash & Lloyd Glasspool..

I’ve done some sightseeing myself during the free time between matches on this short tour of Germany. It’s been a good chance to explore a bit while we’re here. It’s also my first time watching German football, and it feels like a whole different culture. The atmosphere and style are quite something.

I’ve chatted with a few fans from German clubs too. They were all very friendly and knew a lot about their teams, which was great to see. Visiting places nearby has made the trip even better. It’s given me more to enjoy outside the football.

The photos you shared are nice, some great views and moments in there.
