The Football Regulator is going to have a very busy job when he or she final gets in place. Lots of work to do to fix lots of problems regarding football club finance. Will it ever be fixed? I very much doubt it the way things are going.

Now this would worry me a lot, because that is a lot of money to lose and it doesn’t exactly make it appealing to investors. They are seemingly quite confident they've got a plan to fix it but I'm not so sure...

By the sounds of it they are pinning everything on getting outside investment and I'm not sure what they'll actually do other than simply be used cover the losses. I've just had a quick look and Burton don't own the land the stadium is built on so it's not like they can easily start doing things like hotels, restaurants, sports courts as another way of bringing in revenue...

How do you get a club that an average attendance of just over 4,000 to be profitable (or at the very least sustainable) and competitive in League 1 (or League 2 for that matter), it's a mammoth task.

One season Stockport County achieved promotion at a loss of around £5m

To lose £8m is absolutely bonkers, given the smallish supporter base

If you learn something from every game, there shall come a point in time, when you should never lose... Jimmy Sirrel
