Good morning, itโ€™s a bright start here but I suspect it wonโ€™t last.

Yesterday I went for the lung cancer check, there are two huge NHS trailers in the Tesco car park at Toton, I went in the first one to book in and answer a lot of question with a nurse then I was sent to the second trailer where I had a CT Scan Iโ€™ve not had one before, itโ€™s very interesting, I had to lie on a bed which moved me through a donut shaped machine while it scanned my chest. I should get results in 3-4 weeks.

Today I have 40 pints of home brew beer in my brewing bucket which is ready to transfer to the barrel so thatโ€™s the first job today.

Whatโ€™s everyone else doing today?

Good luck with that Big tone and enjoy the ale

My week started with a fire in the ground floor of the building I live in. Evacuated in the middle of the night, we spent hours outside while chaos ensued. To cut a long story short, nobody was seriously hurt it seems. From my side, I'll only say how tightly calibrated our lives can be - one setback like this, losing a night's sleep right before a working week, can throw you completely and the knock-on effects are very evident. I hope things can get back to normal soon.

Exciting to think about Notts though. A 5-0 win with another home game to come. I'm wishing the week away to get there!

The fire sounds a bit scary @theAnticlough Iโ€™m glad no one was seriously hurt.

Yep, Iโ€™m really looking forward to our next match, itโ€™ll be a tougher game though I imagine.

Im glad everything went alright with the lung CT @Fan of Big Tone and once the results are in you can chill with the 40 pints of home brew, well planned strategy that ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿบ

Fires are not the best thing to start the working week with @theAnticlough especially if you are tipped out in the middle of the night, good to hear no one was hurt. I understand the mayhem as for 31years I used to respond to such incidents, not nice. I can sympathise with losing sleep, as all you do for that day is walk round in a trance, or so it seems. These things just show you how fragile life is and how we must make every single second count.

Back to work for me again this morning, and what a lovely fresh morning it was. Im not counting down but 4 weeks and 4 days to go and the freedom of retirement will wrap itself around me like a comfort blanket and take me forwards into an unknown future, can't wait. ๐Ÿค” Live long and prosper one and all. ๐Ÿ––

Unexpected text message from GP this morning, so new appointment booked in. Blood test, blood pressure tests seem never ending.

Went to Cleethorpes for the day last Friday, it's a bit grim looking out of season...

New fire alarm purchased today from Screwfix to replace the one thats been there 25 years and been bashed by accessing the loft too many times!

Wise words Michael D

I'll add to that how intertwined our lives can be....

Yes, nobody was seriously hurt although some young children almost lost their lives as they were trapped in a room...However, the behaviour of the adults suggests they were at fault. Fifty plus people spent the full night outside and are probably still impacted in different ways. The building administration have to face all the tasks of restoring that property. Others seem to have smoke damage. The poor cleaners today looked exhausted at dealing with the aftermath and so on

Don't drink it all at once when it is ready. ๐Ÿ˜‚

I am glad you are okay. It sounds very scary to be woken up in the middle of the night and to learn that there's a fire. It's good to know that everyone was safe, these things can quickly lose control, so thankful it wasn't the case.

I hope you get good news once the test comes back. ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿ™

Today's been a good day for myself, virtually little 'bad' pain but my hands still feel it. Every time I type, it's like a screw is being driven into my finger tips. I assure you, I'm not exaggerating.

Usually my knuckles are what hurt the most, as is the cracking my waists do far too frequently.

But more of the positive side of things, I have done a lot of catching up server side. This has been maintained during my absence, but sometimes it has been a few days between. I did some new exercises that a friend has encouraged me to do, based on my knees and aimed at ruducing my weight. I regularly try, but I wasn't feeling tired after them today. I am mindful not to overdo things, I know my body quite well.

Despite the rainy day, it's been slinging it down where I am. It's been a much better day, and I am hopeful tomorrow will be too.

I hope everyone who reads this is well, I have missed you all.

Praying that you can get better and find relief from this, Chris. You're a hero for anything you do on the site.

Hope each day is better one. Keep up the fight.

It almost feels like I am tempting fate, but today I would say I am quite content with how I feel (pain wise).

I did my daily exercises which include some high step ups, which I do feel help my balance and what not. Keeping my joints strong, is a good feeling when they dislocate so easily, but I worry more about my better half in this relation more than I do myself, I can manage it. Still waiting for my appointment, since the last time I went after my physio wanted the GP to push for a full scan of my body.

That stuff aside, I have made progress with returning deactivated resources due to a previous issue with pages not loading.

I get that some might seem 'flashy' or unnessiary, but I like many of the live features because they are useful when replying to an active discussion. It can hold the engagement and create some excellent discussions back and forth.

After working on the server management side, such as updates and making sure there's no issues. I finished off and upgraded an app I built to show a success message when content is posted. Members can test this and see it in action if they wished, I didn't choose to have it enabled by default because I felt its more a personal choice but in the last update I did add the ability to make it device specific - well actually, I used the bug that made this occur and fixed the device logic so it's cross compataible meaning it can be optional for devices or global throughout a members use.

Good morning everyone, I hope you are all well.

This morning another of my good friends are being cremated, with a family only ceremony, of course I respect the familyโ€™s wishes but I wish I could be there to say goodbye, itโ€™s not only the family that grieve when someone dies.

There will be a celebration of his life in May but thatโ€™s a long time away. I will miss my regular meetings with Jim as we put the world to rights over a pint.

@Chris it's great to see you back in full flow and good to hear that for now your pain has subsided. Keep up the belief and stay positive my friend.

@Fan of Big Tone unfortunately that's life, we try to accept decisions that counteract our desires, but sometimes it hurts and leaves that empty space needing to be filled. A good friend and colleague of mine decided that when he passed he didn't want a funeral and paid for a cremation only, leaving family, friends and work colleagues without that focul point to say goodbye and lay him to rest so to speak. Sometimes these decisions are hard to accept, but we must respect the final decision, and in our own way say our goodbye our way.

Good morning all, I had a better nights sleep thankfully so no morbid talk from me today.

Itโ€™s a grey overcast start here and the forecast is for rain, we are hoping for a walk before the rain starts, to get our daily step quota. Tesco will be coming later with our weekly shop and some goodies we are treating ourselves to.

Iโ€™ve got some white wine that is gently fermenting but that wonโ€™t be ready to bottle just yet but I have got a barrel of home brew dark ale ready to drink so I might have a pint of that with my dinner tonight.

Right on with the day.

Dreary damp day today, that fine rain that really wets you rather quickly. Unfortunately morbidity is part of life @Fan of Big Tone and i find good memories made with said person gives a sense of happiness and satisfaction. My other half has been having a go of late because whilst being ill over these last few weeks I have allowed my hair plus beard to grow out of all proportion for me and she says that I look like a Yeti/Goat. So today I decided to get it cut and trimmed, guess what she never even noticed. ๐Ÿ˜ง๐Ÿhairy

Match day morning and still more rain, mind you the sun will shine me thinks after a good result today. Busy day today as Mrs P is taking our Isabella to the Theatre Royal to see Bluey. So I assume the position of Chauffeur extraordinaire, delivering my passengers to Hucknall tram stop for 12:00 where they will board the tram, alighting at the Theatre Royal in Nottingham. I will then proceed to park up at London Road Fire Station and make my way to the Nest, participating of food and beverage whilst watching the early kick off on the big screen. Once Bluey has finished Mrs P and Isabella will jump on the tram alighting at the train station then making their way to Meadow Lane to meet up with said Chauffeur ๐Ÿ˜€ happy days. Have a great weekend on and all. โšฝ๏ธ

Good morning everyone, itโ€™s matchday, Iโ€™ll be there with Chloe last week was the first time sheโ€™d seen so many goals from Notts so weโ€™re hoping for a repeat performance.

In other news weโ€™ve had a Hive Smart Thermostat fitted so now when we have our winter break in the sun we wonโ€™t have to come back to a freezing house as I can turn the heating on from anywhere in the world. Clever stuff.

Have a great day everyone and COME ON YOU PIES!

i went to visit my mum in the morning, then went to fetch her shopping and took it back. i stayed to have something to eat, she cooked a sunday roast and my aunt and uncle came over to join us. i have been busy during the week with work, and i found less time to check on things. i was not able to go to yesterday game as i was with my dad who asked me to drive him to covent garden.

would have liked to have made the game but i did like the change in some ways.
