Match Discussion: League Two - Chesterfield (A)

Featured Replies

Tense game, far too evenly matched for my liking!

Our backline was absolutely immense, and they had to be because the ball just kept on coming back as the team ahead just couldn't keep a hold of it.

Wembley here we come.

Potential revenge against Salford - especially for Jatta. I can see that happening

This perfectly sums up the Notts performance tonight.

I agree a fantastic display by our defenders, a very tense game, especially the last 10-15 minutes, I just wanted Notts to keep possession but they just kept giving the ball away and Chesterfield kept coming at us but all was well in the end we stood firm.

There’s nothing like a live match under the lights what an atmosphere, the fans were brilliant even the Pavis stand where I sat were singing their heads off.

Best vocal support over 90 minutes I've ever experienced at Meadow Lane.

And I know they shouldn't have gone on the pitch but seeing literally thousands of YOUNG Notts fans having the time of their life is pretty amazing after all these years.

Keeping Chesterfield scoreless over the 2 legs is most impressive. From what I saw, it never looked like Notts were going to lose last night. Wembley awaits. Nice.

Those 4 at the back were unbelievable.

Credit to the club/MP for taking the decisions to allow that...

Belshaw for Roos, instilling so much more confidence on the players in front of him

Making RodMac captain - it helps to get this right. If someone is a true leader of the team, make it official and reward it with the armband

A very composed performance yesterday, we looked in control for most of it but didn't quite manage to put the game to bed when we had a chance to. Apart from the one lapse (when Berry belted a free shot into orbit) it was an excellent defensive performance from the whole team.

For the final we will need to hold on to the ball better and pose more of an attacking threat, although I doubt we'll be taking too many unnecessary risks. We showed signs of finally getting to grips with Salford in our last game against them so maybe it'll be time to finally beat them?

I don't mind a good pitch invasion, but heading straight over to the away fans and giving it the big 'un behind a line of stewards isn't really needed in my opinion.

Yeah, with you there. It might not go down so well with teh FA either

I agree @StarkMallard its a shame the celebrations were spoilt by fans confronting the Spireite fans, I saw smoke bombs being thrown about as well as other things, I hope the club don’t get in trouble.

I doubt we'll end up in trouble, I think it happens more often at certain clubs. It's just chavvy behaviour we can do without.

I echo @theAnticlough's praise of Belshaw, he's been our key signing and without him I doubt we'd have reached the playoffs at all. He didn't have a lot to do yesterday, but like all good keepers he was there when we needed him with that low save in the second half!
