Pity things didn't turn out for Kelle at Notts. After he had played his last game for Notts before Belshaw took over Notts were in seventh place on 39 points from 24 matches.

His stats as far as goals conceded & clean sheets were comparable with Belshaw's at the end of the regular season. He demonstrated that he was a good shot stopper.

I think that what let Kelle down was his apparent lack of command of his area & it seemed that the Notts defence became much more confident when he was replaced.

The club have wished him well for the future and so do I. He did contribute to us getting promotion during the first half of the season.

Another sensible move by Notts. Obviously waited to see if anybody would take him but had a mutual deal ready to sign.

People will speculate it was costly, as there's this notion that Roos was on big money. But that seemed to start out as something one person claimed and it eventually became a 'fact'. So I'm sceptical.

Will we bring in a third keeper when we get the chance, as an extra back-up? I kind of miss the days when an outfield player occasionally took the gloves and performed theatrical heroics. Anyone remember Darren Davis in the County Cup at Forest? He was a better keeper than a full back.

I won’t say anything bad about Kelle Roos. He tried and did his best. It’s a shame that Notts has wasted money on his wages and then had to terminate his contract, but it shows that sometimes recruitment isn’t perfect, and that’s normal. Roos was decent around the club, but he wasn’t going to be our number one. I do think the club should have signed another keeper before the transfer window shut.

Good summing up@Robbie ....was rooting for him to settle in and stabilise his form, but that fatal flaw kept setting him back, and the confidence of those in front of him

It’s a shame it didn’t work out for Kelle at Notts but I wish him well wherever he ends up.

If it had worked, it would have been a meaningful signing, but it didn't. I think the loan was a good move last season, but I suspected he would end up being released. Some of the comments from our fans, while they are funny at times, do become personal, and I think those types should remind themselves that he didn't really do anything wrong.

I had very limited belief in his ability, and he had me on the edge of my seat for all the wrong reasons, but is it his fault he signed?

With the right team, he could be the right choice, but for us it isn't to be.

I appreciate what he tried and did during his time. I heard a lot of personal comments directed at him on match days; I disagree with that, but I do understand why many simply felt he wasn't a good fit for Notts. Best of luck in his next move.

I've said previously that Kelle was a good shot stopper but lacking when commanding his box & his distribution was poor.

But when you look at the League 2 stats they tell us that in the 24 matches that Roos played in the first half of the season, Notts accumulated 39 points.

In the 22 matches that Belshaw played, Notts accumulated 41 points. So Roos did play a reasonable part in Notts getting to the playoffs, & by doing that, he played his part in a successful season.

But I do believe that Notts made the right decision to replace him because it gave Notts that extra boost that got us over the line.

Roos had a bad first match against Newport that basically showed up his biggest flaw from the off, dealing with crosses and balls into his box. Commanding his 6 yard box was a monumental struggle and he was just terrified of coming off his line. It put the onus on the defenders to deal with a lot more and that was relieved when Belshaw joined.

I felt bad for Roos in the end, we had no real other option so we soldiered on with him even when his confidence was shot. The decision for him to go is best for both parties, especially as he had no real future here.
