MAGnets - links to Bristol City FC

Featured Replies

Cockney rhyming slang for the matchday chatroom's favourite anatomical part!

So, links between the 2 clubs.  Immediate thoughts go to the Warnock era, and the 3-way tussle for promotion around 1990.  Eventually a title race between City and Rovers, with us taking the Wembley route past Tranmere Rovers.  Remember the days and players as though it was yesterday - Supermarket end at Bolton anyone?!

Players - one standout candidate for me is Martin Kuhl, a short stint at Meadow Lane remembered for one "Barn"storming reason I am sure you recall!

Special mention for Abe Akinbiyi too  :-)

Over to you folks...

Gary Owers
Brendan Moloney
Darren Caskey
Clayton Blackmore

I'll stop here, though off the top of my head I can name 6 more.

i thought kieron freeman initially - not so.  then, got into link upon link on curles squad, and by accident, found a really unique MAGnet - possibly the only one we're likely to find across all clubs / players, a player who played a solitary league game for either club.

i give you, TOM WILLIAMS....

@pie_in_shanghai oh dear, you didn't write his name clear as day did you? you did? *stands by for a riot*.

I never understood why some sections of our supporters took to abusing him on Twitter, mind he was the most pointless signing in recent years. Even more so than the player we brought in as left back, bald chap, played for Derby. We signed him to cover but he ended up sneaking into the squad and impressing us for all of two games.
