From Scunthorpe to Colchester, any of these 8 teams could still go down. Here's the fixtures for next Saturday:

Coventry vs Crewe. Neither side is safe. Coventry need at least 1 more point so they will be going for it. I don't see Crewe getting anything from the game. 2-1.

Fleetwood vs Colchester. Fleetwood have nothing to play for. Colchester need a win, I don't see them getting it. 1-1.

Leyton Orient vs Sheffield Utd. Sheffield Utd will want to finish 5th so I can see them going for it here. Leyton Orient were one of the favourites for promotion at the start of the season. A draw me thinks. 1-1.

Notts County vs Doncaster. Donny are gone on their holidays already. Home win. 1-0.

Peterborough vs Crawley. Posh have nothing to play for but who knows which Posh turn up. I think it will be bad Posh. 1-2.

Scunthorpe vs Gillingham. Scunthorpe are almost safe, but Gillingham will show up even though they have nothing to play for. Still think the Irons will prevail. 2-1.

Yeovil vs Port Vale. Yeovil are actually playing better since they were relegated and I think they will continue that trend here. 2-1.

So by my reckoning, Notts will be out of the relegation zone going into the last game.

There's a relegation battle? Have we considered taking part in this?

Teams having nothing left to play for at this stage of the season is a double-edged sword. They might already be on their holidays and give us an easy ride. But equally, they might play without pressure. You might as well toss a coin. Donny's record of one win, two draws and three defeats out of their last six gives me hope, but the Gills are in better shape. Of course, the team with the worst form at the bottom is us :(

If we lose, wins for Crawley and Crewe would send us down mathematically, or if either of those two plus Orient win we'll have something like a 1% chance of staying up. Like you, I can see Crawley beating Posh, but am not so sure about Crewe. Likewise, in that case a win for Orient would leave us needing to win by a large margin while hoping Orient lose on the last day to catch up with them. The Blunts have 2 points from their last 3 games.

To sum up, we need at least 4 points. We could yet stay up with 3, but we'd have to be astonishingly lucky.

I think Saturday is it. This group of players don't have the cahunas to take it to the wire on the last day. If we get 3 pts on Saturday then maybe, just maybe, but I still think unfortunately we are down.

@Dripsey3 Do you think we will stay up now?

Fail to win Saturday, it will be a major blow because a point isn't good enough in my opinion. Avoid goal difference!

A field where dreams become reality.

if we can beat doncaster, i hope its from playing good football because i think the would encourage more people to go to gillingham which needs all the support it can get, if we are to pull off some sort of houdini trick.

I don't think so. I'm just not feeling it this season. I think we'll be out of the drop zone this weekend but will be beat at Gillingham and that will seal our faith.
