Weekend camping and Rolling Stones

Featured Replies

Posted

It was my birthday last month and for a present my son bought me a camping trip plus tickets to see a Rolling Stones tribute band called Rollin Stoned.

We camped as a family and me and my son went to see the band on Saturday night, it was a double bill with a group who were called Abbey Road Experience, they were on first and did (as you can imagine Beatles songs) they weren't a look a like group but just played the music of the Beatles, we thought they were very good until the Rollin Stoned came on stage, they were magnificent, I'm a big Stones fan and I've seen the real thing 3 times and watched loads of videos and I though this tribute band had them off to a tee, every mannerism was spot on the music was damn good too. They really had all the oldies rocking in the aisles.

A great weekend.

If only someone had took a camera to catch all the oldies dancing! I could have used it to blackmail @tonyhateley haha!

Sounds like a great time.

I tell you what @notts-joe there were some strange looking dances going on, one chap looked like he was having a fit and quite a few I could imagine would embarass their daughters at their wedding receptions.

There are many good tributes acts, some of which could easily be mistaken for the real thing. Sounds like you enjoyed it, I bet the cost was also good.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Only £25 @AmericanPie a bit cheaper than the real thing.

Is the real thing not double that or worse? £25 is more than reasonable.

It's a while since I've been to see them @AmericanPie but I reckon a Stones concert these days would be around three times what I paid to see the tribute band.

@tonyhateley did you check out that other weekend?

Yes I did mate, it looks good I'm not sure I'd want to go though, looking at the pictures from this year it looks very crowded, I'm not good with crowds that's why I watch Notts :biggrin"

The gig I went to was in an amphitheatre with only around 350 people mostly seated and everyone got a superb view.
