Notts vs Scunny (Friendly)

Here's the chance for Notts to settle folks nerves by putting together a decent display on home soil, if Ricardo Moniz can get the defence to steady themselves, I think optimism will be back on the increase. The result as such isn't important, however I hope we avoid a defeat like Grimsby because Scunthorpe have a decent squad.

I also hope the players are excited about playing in-front of home fans, so we shall see.

Is anyone going? What do you think the score will be?

I think it will be end to end, with Notts taking the lead. The final score? Possibly 2-2. I would be happy with that, yet I hope for a home win.

I do think on paper our squad is stronger, it will be nice if Stead scores because he looks very eager to impress. When did a newly signed striker find the net so often or even look dangerous in games?

I'm not going, I am keeping a look out for updates.

I'm pretty optimistic about tonight myself and I don't see why the recent defeats have changed anyone's thoughts on the season. Going for a 2-1 win with Stead and Snijders to get the goals

I am looking forward to watching Notts at home, result does not concern me either. I do want to see Notts attacking, looking interested and keen to finish the pre-season with some style having lost the last two friendlies.

A win would please the crowd, that is what I hope for but as I say, the result is not a concern.

I think a win at this stage of pre-season is actually quite important tbh, the players need to show that they can materialise performances into results by the start of the season and to end our preparations with a win would really boost confidence throughout the club

Well, from what I have been told we did pretty well against Leeds. The scoreline would suggest that, considering it ended 2-0 to them but we have no idea on either squads.

Scunny is our chance to win over the home fans and floating casuals.

A good performance and folks will go home happy, regardless of the score. Let the SAS do their job!

It looks like we are fielding a really youthful side with a couple of squad players thrown in  for good measure. 9 of the squad named are 16-18 year olds and it's unlikely any (perhaps Dave Mirfin) will start for us next weekend.

Will be interesting to see how Wooton does - he is a bright talent.

Looks like MR will field a full strength side against Lincoln in the Lincs Cup tomorrow lunchtime! I thought it may have been the other way round, but hey ho!

I'm coming tonight but not expecting much.

What lineup do people fancy to feature tonight? I hope it starts with Carroll in goal and Stead + Spencer upfront.

Noble perhaps in the middle with Swerts.

I'm fancying a partnership of Stead and Campbell rather than Spencer personally, my line-up would be like this (4-1-2-1-2):

Carroll

Atkinson Amevor Bennett Sharpe

Swerts

Jenner Snijders

Burke

Stead Campbell

Spot on, a win especially in front of the home fans is important. Morale at this stage breeds confidence and the fans will see this.

Burke out injured.

Notts XI: Carroll, Swerts, Trialist, Smith, Trialist, Amevor, Jenner, Aborah, Thompson, Stead Kyle, De Silva.|

Subs: Bennett - Loach - Atkinson - Hollis - Noble - Sharpe - Snijders - Trialist - Trialist - Campbell - Valencic.

The left-back trialist does well to concede a corner. Sloppy again from Notts. Carroll saves somehow from close range to tip over. 0-0.

If we are after a RB, a CB and 2 strikers, why are we trialing a left back?
