New manager

Who do we want then?

Who is realistic and what type of manager do we need?

Current odds...

Mark Cooper 5/4
Mick Halsall 8/1
Richard Dryden 10/1
Ian Barraclough 10/1
Russell Slade 12/1
Dean Suanders 12/1
Gareth Ainsworth 12/1
Chris Powell 16/1
Graham Alexander 16/1
Lee Clark 16/1
Gary Bowyer 16/1
Ian Holloway 20/1
Paul Ince 20/1
Andy Awford 20/1
Paul Dickov 20/1
Phil Brown 20/1
Gary McAllister 25/1
Tim Sherwood 25/1
Alan Irvine 25/1
Alan Curbishley 50/1

For me it needs to be an old fashioned organiser and motivator like Martin Allen was. Baraclough or Cooper will do me.

Now the bullet has been bitten @tonyhateley you need to give us a straight answer. He's gone so that's done with. Who do we choose to take the hottest seat in football?

They've all failed in the past that's why they are available.

Might as well let Dryden see what he can do, I'm that disenchanted at the moment that I honestly don't care.

Out of that list Alan Irvine for me, can't give lots of reasons why, just felt he has done ok in the past and been a little unfortunate, only drawback is he currently has a job at Blackburn, not sure anyone would leave a job to come here.

@tonyhateley stop being so moody every manager has failed at some point it's how you bounce back and learn.

Im not having ago I'm just saying you need to accept it happend and try give someone a chance in this modern age of football for me Cooper yea he may have not been great everywhere.

But last year did wonders at Swindon took them far an plays attractive football I know someone will moan at my view so  go for it

If Cooper wants it then he should be signed on as soon as possible. Young hungry manager, knows the lower leagues, but knows how to motivate. Has proved successful with attacking flair like players.

Surely as Ray said in the statement, the excitement of the attacking has been a nice change from Derry and Keith 50 passes across the back 4 Curle, but let's sort out the defensive duties and remember we defend as a team.

I wonder if Dean Yates will be looking to come back to Radio Nottingham now. Maybe a pairing with Stallard when Uncle Col retires? Would be be able to adapt to full commentary rather than colour commentary?

Come on @tonyhateley you'v seen worse football and sillier sackings at Meadow Lane. A New Year beckons with a new start for the pies.

According to radio red the club have other names in mind before Cooper.

they are also looking to make a swift appointment so that the new man gets to bolster the defence in the January window.

Its the quality of the players that makes the team sucessful and i dont think we have that quality...

wrong we have the quality look at our forwards Izle McLeod Jimmy Spencer Murray Stead midfield Milsom Curtis Noble Stanley Campbell to Burke if he's on his game  it's just the defence we lack.

They just need to keep things simple and offer more defensive cover rather then everyone bomb forward and no one get back a good manager will come in and see what's wrong and what's right

and whoever comes needs to realize smith is not ahead of Curtis he can't keep up with the pace of the game it goes by him so easily.

Thompson and Milsom would run all day and get stuck in which would make it bit more harder to just walk through when smith plays in the middle

Smith won't be at the club much longer I reckon. Plymouth is most likely destination. No loss given we have Curtis and Milsom. Frees up wages as well.

I kno Mick halsall is interm at the minute and has stated he hasn't ruled himself out the job.

And is going to be taking charge of transfers after Oxford game but I hope we have someone in place by then I don't want another kiwoyma situation.

You do well here have the job hope we employ a proper manager who knows this level and has managed at it and done well

I see Bristol City got hammered 4-0 the other day and they are 22nd in the Championship, can we hang on and wait for him to get the sack?

We could always appoint him and sack him in 5 months if he doesn't get us in the play offs, because that's what we do isn't it?

In fact lets just let the fans be the manager they all seem know what is needed and Ray seems to take more notice of them.

Still peed off 'pie. :censored:

Would happily take him. Biggest mistake letting him leave the Lane apart from letting Allen go imo. Motivator at its best when here. Disciplinarian and total control. Nothing wrong with that. I don't think Moniz had either.

There's some dross on that list!  Gary Bowyer is the most competent & he's a decent bloke. Not many others offer anything inspiring.

Spare us the nutcase Holloway, he's probably the most over rated if the lot.

Hopefully, somebody will emerge from beyond that list of no hopers, never wil be's and pure jokers.
