Who is your favourite ever notts lad?

Title speaks for itself, I'm interested in who is your favorite notts player of all time and why!

As many will know I haven't supported notts for 60 odd years so I have very few players to choose from so my player will be much more recent.

If you hadn't already guessed its good old Stanley Aborah! He almost always gets out of trouble even after receiving the ball with men around him, he is always so calm and composed and after his first goal (I can't quite remember the team) but you could see his passion and joy to score for us!

Favourite?

I've liked many, Jeff Hughes - Alan Judge, Alan Sheehan but my most favourite would mine would be between Danny Allsopp or Mark Stallard.

A field where dreams become reality.

Between Iain McCullough and Tommy Johnson for me, with Tommy shading it, probably because he came through the youth ranks. Loved watching him and was gutted when he left for Derby, mainly because I thought he was better than that. I was a big fan of Gary Lund as well, who was a very intelligent striker and would have been top class if he had more pace.

favourite notts player of all time and why!    For me it has got to be Ian Scanlon.

There have been better players, Don Mason for one, but as John Motson  said about another player, "With him in the team, The unexpected is always likely to happen".

I was in my early teens and an avid fan. The Notts team then was a big side, so supa Scan who like me was normal sized, became my idol. after all he did the impossible like:-

A hat-trick in 2mins 45 seconds in a 3-3 draw with Shef Wed

A goal to beat the mighty Leeds as we crushed them 1-0 at Eland Road

Containing himself until the 85th min before roasting the florist defence and crossing for Les Bradd to head home a boxing day winner over on the dark side.

Tristan Benjamin, Pedro Richards, as the best,

Raddy Avramovic, The "Don", Scanlon, Ian McCulloch, Aki Lahtinen, Rash "the smash" Harkouk, Christie, Mair,....and the rest of that team,  a sign that "the team" at that time, had everyones support.

Gary McSwegan, Anders Jacobsen, Michael Johnson, Deano, Darren Ward, Hughsie, Adrian Thorpe, Fashanu, Steve Finnan, Ben Davies, Stanley Aborah, mention in dispatches

In terms of "effective" as Jamie likes to say, lesser known likes such as Rob Matthews, Tony Garcia, Micky Waitt
