Yeah, they've got the origins wrong. There's another tale about players pushing themselves in a wheelbarrow that broke as it carried the players - yet that's untrue.

I do think two players did something like this afterwards though.

I agree with @liampie, It's lazy how they can't do proper research and I actually think it's insulting when a professional journalist can't be bothered.

Easy to make a mistake, they should have asked a fan or the club but research can be hard online if multiple sources are incorrect.

It's nice Notts got mentioned at least.

It's still good to see Notts get a mention, we know where the chant started.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
