What was your Favourite tv program as a kid.?

I like watching Linus Tech Tips on YouTube, the bloke who does the videos and owns the company reminds me of Shaggy [from Scooby Doo].

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Don McLean

Depends what age you mean. As a young kid i liked Raggy dolls and penny crayon but as i got older i liked Sabrina the teenage witch.

Transformers, the original series.

I was gutted when they switched to the iffy beast wars, it just seemed awful.

A field where dreams become reality.

Way before most members were born and I bet even @Fan of Big Tone won't know these two progammes from back in the 1950's -the first one is "Billy Bean and his funny machine" with one of the original Goons, Michael Bentine.I can hear the younger members saying "Goons,Michael Bentine, never heard of them. The second, and my real favourite ,is "Billy Bunter of Greyfriars school"Whenever I hear the tune "Portsmouth" the memories come flooding back.

You’re right @super_ram those programmes were before my time but of course I’ve heard of the Goons and Michael Bentine “you dirty rotten swine you deaded me” :joker:

I also remember Billy Bunter vaguely but my favourite children programme was Watch with Mother and Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men, which I think has recently been revived.

Alot of older childrens programs have been revived recently but from what alot of the new ones are like, its as if they are running out of ideas. especially with 1 of the new ones being called "apple and onion" basically a talking apple and spring onion living life in an apartment... very odd.

Alot of movies have been revived too.

Ha ha @Fan of Big Tone The Goons -"He's fallen in the water"

and thanks for reminding me of Bill and Ben.I completely forgot about them.I used to watch "watch with mother" too.I wasn't bothered much about the other programmes in this series apart from The Woodentops-The dog made me laugh-but the flowerpotmen were absolutely brilliant. When I heard  it was being revived I made a point of watching it.Sadly ,while being slick,it has lost  its charm and the voices (Flobalob Plobalob) aren't the same.

i used to like Watch with Mother too, Andy Pandy and bizzie lizzie and Bill and Ben were my faves. Used to love to watch Raggy Dolls with Jen when she was little.

@super_ram it was Spotty Dog in the woodentops, daddy woodentop, mummy wooden top and the twins (I think) can’t remember if they had a name.

@magpiejue Andy Pandy, Teddy and Louby Loo, I wonder what they used to get up to in that box. ????
