Usually it's hard to pick a MOM because there are so few worthy candidates, but today it's difficult because there are so many.Β  That was a real team performance where everyone worked for each other for once.Β  Even though we didn't get the result we deserved, I suspect most of us are more upbeat than we've been for a while.Β  If we can repeat that level of effort and desire next year we will be ok, if we slip back to the Macc performance we're doomed.

On to the topic, my vote goes to Pierce Bird.Β  For a lad of 19 to make his full debut against the most potent attack in the division and playΒ like a seasoned veteran is something else.Β  I've always liked what I've seen of him, I just hope he gets more first team action to show how far he can go.

The best team performance of the season so far. HardΒ to pick one MoM, Vaughan played his best game in a Notts shirt & actually made some good tackles, Bird was superb, Tootle looked back to himself again, Dennis ran his heart out, but I picked Kellet; he showed what he is about and had his best game yet for Notts.

The same three names doing the rounds stood out for me too. David Vaughan, Pierce Bird and Andy Kellett all played fantastic and funny how the three names were talking about were never in Kewell's plans. Kewell was a poison to this club and could ruin our season. However aside that I was so impressed with these particular three and hope they can continue their form into Oldham.

I don't get why Pierce Bird is getting all this praise, people calling him homegrown. He's not and I felt he did well but nowhere near the level of David Vaughan or Andy Kellett.

They played outstandingly well.
