I think there are 3 signings needed to strengthen the first team, keeper, centre back and left back.

I would hope the club can acquire 2 strikers, a possible replacement for Enzio Boldewijn who doesn't work hard enough defensively. Andy Kellett I feel would shine if he started more regularly and was allowed to have a certain level of freedom with the way he plays. Another quality winger, a younger Michael Doyle [preferably still experienced enough, so 25-28]. The rest of the signings would be nothing more than additional players to strengthen weaker areas of pitch and to offer something different. 

 

I would like some of the youngsters to be given a shot, yet I can't see Neal Ardley being focused on this department as we could perhaps be.

That back five gives me the shivers. The squad as it stands is destined for relegation.

Tootle, Bird, Rose, Hemmings and probably Crawford can help us. Doyle can help us with his experience. Maybe Kellett and Patching will enjoy a new lease of life. Maybe one or two of the youth players will come good (but let's be realistic, most don't make the grade - so having one in the first eleven is an act of insanity or desperation). But it's just far too thin. We need to build from the back - with one, preferably two good goalkeepers and a whole new defence.

Too true @DangerousSausage. That is something that clearly needs to change but only in the eyes of the fans by the looks of it.
