Match Discussion: Game 4 - Rovers (A)
I understand, I understand, fans often emphasise the impact of an early goal, and in our case, scoring one against Doncaster could have a significant effect. It would grant Notts the advantage and relieve them of the need to constantly create opportunities, allowing them to focus on executing quality football. Such an early goal would place Notts in a proactive position and facilitate their integration into the flow of the match. My confidence in our defensive capabilities remains steady; I anticipate Doncaster will provide opportunities for us to play, aiming to exploit areas where we struggle to maintain possession. However, we must assert ourselves to force Doncaster into granting us playing space. By pressing them to retreat, we can create expanses of open field.

Bostock is not just a fantastic player, but also a leader who rightly focuses on how the journey shapes the outcome. The faith and perseverance amidst struggles define the spirit of this club. With such ethos, victory can't be far.

Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Shrimps (A)
It was a rather unique game in my view. It's not common to witness a team with so much possession struggle to score. It's a bit of a puzzling situation. On one hand, it's impressive to control the game, but on the other, it's a bit frustrating to see that dominance not result in goals. However, let's not dwell on the negatives! Keeping a clean sheet in an away game is fantastic. I think our players could benefit from more top-notch coaching on breaking down compact defences. Games like these help the management pinpoint areas for improvement. I'm excited for a more assertive approach in our next match.

Match Discussion: PSF - Forest (H)
A huge step forward from the Stoke friendly, but again we know these are just about trying things. However, I like the fact that Notts, under Luke Williams’ instructions, tried the standard 4-4-2 formation. I hope we are able to adapt and play well in the league without relying on one formation. It was this change that made us competitive against Forest. If we had stuck with 5-3-1, I think we would have struggled to create chances. It was a good, entertaining game.

Southend Utd survive High Court hearing
It’s not a good sign to see them being given time, instead of the matter being settled. I think most of the time these delays are just to buy time and there is a real risk that the next time it won’t be paid but an attempt will be made to delay it even longer, which is very dangerous. I hope Southend manages to weather the storm.

Match Discussion: PSF - The Boro (A)
This isn’t aimed at anyone here, but fans always say it’s about fitness. When Notts loses, or a player doesn’t perform well, or whatever else someone can find to complain about, they do. Likewise, if we win, some will expect more from the team and start moaning that if we’re not in a title race come Christmas, then we have failed. It’s just a game for Luke Williams to review things before the season starts. I’m interested, but I want fans to realise that this won’t give us any insight into how we may do in the league. Only those league games will determine that, and for once I wish people would try to sit on the fence a bit more.

Notts County signs former Arsenal academy graduate Dan Crowley on 2-year-deal
Dan Crowley appears to be a crucial signing. I have been reading about the clubs he has been linked with and it is surprising that the rumour sites never mentioned this for us. It seems that some League One teams’ fans thought he was going to join them. I feel it is a very good signing.
