  1. Welcome to PON, good to see you have joined the site. @Steveyward
  2. Welcome to PON, it's good to see so many new members. Hello to each of you.
  3. Fantastic news! Tipton sounds like a promising young talent. Here's hoping for a stellar season ahead!
  4. Superb selection of away games there, Clark! I'm keen on the Barrow match, perfect excuse for a Lake District weekend.
  5. The EFL must proceed with the charges even if the board at Barnsley has changed. Otherwise, other clubs may be tempted to disrespect the rules, and things will become harder to control. I hope they punish them quite strictly, as it will deter others.
  6. It’s sad to see another commentator leave the club, but it’s nice knowing they’re moving on to bigger and better things. Charlie did a fantastic job for Notts.
  7. Best Signing: Jodi Jones Highest Goal Scorer: Macca Most Improved Player of the Season: Tobi Most Starts in the Season: Matt Palmer Best partnership between two players: Palmer and Chicksen
  8. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Michael D P. It's good to see your comments.
  9. Sad to see Charlie go. You did a stellar job at the microphone mate!

  13. Welcome to the PON site, @Kevin May. Plenty here to say and do.
  14. I fully agree with @ARLukomski. The friendly match was a useful exercise, and I liked the centre-back we had on trial. He seemed reliable.
  15. Good interview. I hope we can compete with the top teams and make progress.
  16. A huge step forward from the Stoke friendly, but again we know these are just about trying things. However, I like the fact that Notts, under Luke Williams’ instructions, tried the standard 4-4-2 formation. I hope we are able to adapt and play well in the league without relying on one formation. It was this change that made us competitive against Forest. If we had stuck with 5-3-1, I think we would have struggled to create chances. It was a good, entertaining game.
  17. It’s not a good sign to see them being given time, instead of the matter being settled. I think most of the time these delays are just to buy time and there is a real risk that the next time it won’t be paid but an attempt will be made to delay it even longer, which is very dangerous. I hope Southend manages to weather the storm.
  18. This pre-season match has evidently provided some invaluable lessons. Excited for the new season!
  19. I don’t often watch DVDs now either. At one point, my home had two large bookshelves filled with them, but my parents cut down on them when streaming and owning legal downloads became a thing. Amazon is good for that sort of thing, as you can keep the download in the cloud until you want it.
  20. I would have loved to have Archie Mair back at Notts, but he is some time away from being a full replacement for Sam Slocombe. I don’t think it’s fair to rush him or ask him to sit on the bench. I also agree that Aidan Stone is more ready; he just needs further work, which I think Tom Weal will get out of him. Good luck to Mair and Gateshead.
  21. Marc Bola moving to Turkey sounds like something I never thought would happen. I hope he settles well over there. He should do well and I’m interested to see how he performs.
  22. Good luck to Jon. He did well when he was here and I think he has qualities that would make him a good coach. I wish Steady all the best.
  23. Both shirts look great. I really like the different look of the home shirt and I think more people will like it when they see it in person. I heard some fans say last Saturday that they didn’t like the blue shirt until they saw it in person, but I liked it the moment I saw it! I hope to get one of each.
  24. PON is a great site, it's pretty quiet at the moment around Notts so why not jump in and discuss things here? Get yourself that Notts fix. Welcome to PON @MagpieRob.
  25. I agree that the battle between Wrexham and Notts was gripping, but each season brings its unique stories. Oldham and Chesterfield are certainly geared up for the competition, but like in all leagues, other clubs will also play a part. Smaller teams, with the potential to upset the larger ones, can turn the tide too swiftly. So, yes, the title race will definitely be gripping. But the suspense won't just revolve around the competitiveness between Chesterfield and Oldham. Instead, how the other teams perform will also significantly influence the final results.
