  1. I don’t often watch DVDs now either. At one point, my home had two large bookshelves filled with them, but my parents cut down on them when streaming and owning legal downloads became a thing. Amazon is good for that sort of thing, as you can keep the download in the cloud until you want it.
  2. I would have loved to have Archie Mair back at Notts, but he is some time away from being a full replacement for Sam Slocombe. I don’t think it’s fair to rush him or ask him to sit on the bench. I also agree that Aidan Stone is more ready; he just needs further work, which I think Tom Weal will get out of him. Good luck to Mair and Gateshead.
  3. Marc Bola moving to Turkey sounds like something I never thought would happen. I hope he settles well over there. He should do well and I’m interested to see how he performs.
  4. Good luck to Jon. He did well when he was here and I think he has qualities that would make him a good coach. I wish Steady all the best.
  5. Both shirts look great. I really like the different look of the home shirt and I think more people will like it when they see it in person. I heard some fans say last Saturday that they didn’t like the blue shirt until they saw it in person, but I liked it the moment I saw it! I hope to get one of each.
  6. PON is a great site, it's pretty quiet at the moment around Notts so why not jump in and discuss things here? Get yourself that Notts fix. Welcome to PON @MagpieRob.
  7. I agree that the battle between Wrexham and Notts was gripping, but each season brings its unique stories. Oldham and Chesterfield are certainly geared up for the competition, but like in all leagues, other clubs will also play a part. Smaller teams, with the potential to upset the larger ones, can turn the tide too swiftly. So, yes, the title race will definitely be gripping. But the suspense won't just revolve around the competitiveness between Chesterfield and Oldham. Instead, how the other teams perform will also significantly influence the final results.
  8. Langstaff definitely has an instinctual knack for being in the right place at the right time during the games. He is, no doubt, an asset for us.
  9. Can't wait for the football season to begin. Notts County, make us proud!
  10. Nemane is the one player I wanted to keep the most. His speed and determination are something we may have struggled to replace.
  11. I have seen it now. He burst onto the scene with Villa in the Premier League. I remember him more from Stoke and Liverpool, but it’s a great documentary. Sometimes, players need to push themselves a bit more, even if it’s hard. Peter Crouch has won people over with his attitude and love for football. He’s really missed in the game. I have enjoyed his World Cup shows in the past.
  12. Great job to the lads on their first pre-season friendly! A 3-0 win is nothing to sniff at. Looking forward to seeing more as the season progresses.
  13. This isn’t aimed at anyone here, but fans always say it’s about fitness. When Notts loses, or a player doesn’t perform well, or whatever else someone can find to complain about, they do. Likewise, if we win, some will expect more from the team and start moaning that if we’re not in a title race come Christmas, then we have failed. It’s just a game for Luke Williams to review things before the season starts. I’m interested, but I want fans to realise that this won’t give us any insight into how we may do in the league. Only those league games will determine that, and for once I wish people would try to sit on the fence a bit more.
  14. Stoke City has shown some real class here. Nothing but respect to them for what they’ve done.
  15. Oh boy, TikTok rips off Instagram, Meta rips off Twitter. It’s getting silly with all these social media sites popping up. I don’t think one social network should hold a monopoly on things either. Variety is always better.
  16. Best wishes to Frank Vincent. I think he’ll be a superb signing for Dagenham & Redbridge!
  17. Under Williams' guidance, the players' resilience and positive mindset are clearly shining through. Success hinges heavily on the mindset of the players and their commitment towards improvement. These insights from Williams instill a lot of confidence in the potential of the squad to deliver great performances.
  18. The club statement noting Nemane's growth as a player resonates with fans who have watched him develop his game understanding and self-belief over the course of last season.
  19. Williams's transfer market movements reflect a well-thought-out strategy: bringing in league one quality players like McGoldrick and Crowley while bidding farewell to fan-favourite Rodrigues. While the latter's departure might sting, Williams’s balanced approach and aim to drive Notts County forward is commendable.
  20. It's inspiring to read about Mick Vinter's journey and how he made a name for himself in football.
  21. Cool to know that Nigel's grandfather saw the last game at Trent Bridge and the first at Meadow Lane. It's like Notts County runs in their blood!
  22. Dan Crowley appears to be a crucial signing. I have been reading about the clubs he has been linked with and it is surprising that the rumour sites never mentioned this for us. It seems that some League One teams’ fans thought he was going to join them. I feel it is a very good signing.
  23. Dan Crowley seems like the perfect signing. He performed well at Morecambe. When he joined them, I was surprised. However, since he is from Coventry, the move made more sense due to the proximity. We have many connections to Coventry, making us quite the Coventry club.
  24. Happy birthday!!! ???????????? Enjoy your birthday and that meal, no ordering seconds! You don't want to spoil that cake @Fan of Big Tone.
  25. Good player, good servant. It’s hard to use his age as an excuse to get rid, he works so hard and still plays like a much younger experienced person. His reactions might not be as quick, but his focus and drive are things you can’t be taught.
