Match Discussion: Game 7 - The Dons (A)
It will be a close game unless either team buckles under the pressure. This game would be perfect for Sky, but they seem slow off the mark in choosing their games. Despite hating BT Sports, this game would have been picked with the foresight of it being an interesting clash. If we pass the ball to Macca or if someone else creates an opportunity to score, we should grow in strength. If we concede, that is where it might become harder. Otherwise, it’s two decent teams trying to get their share of the points.

Well-deserved win. Accrington isn't an easy team but we held our own. Props to the team.

Match Discussion: Game 6 - The 'Owd Reds (H)
Accrington Stanley aren’t as good as they used to be. Once they sold Paul Mullin, they just became an average good team. Defensively, they can be quite poor. Place a shot in the top corner, and we will score. There’s no way their keeper will save every high shot on goal. They work hard as a team, but I can’t see them doing much against us at home. Away would be a completely different story.

are we as fans guilty of being too critical at times?
I think we are at times guilty of being too critical, but maybe not completely negative. It is normal to hold players to a high standard, but the point about just enjoying football is something worth remembering. I would rather see Notts win having played well than complain about a few mistakes and only have that as the focus.

Match Discussion: Game 4 - Rovers (A)
I understand, I understand, fans often emphasise the impact of an early goal, and in our case, scoring one against Doncaster could have a significant effect. It would grant Notts the advantage and relieve them of the need to constantly create opportunities, allowing them to focus on executing quality football. Such an early goal would place Notts in a proactive position and facilitate their integration into the flow of the match. My confidence in our defensive capabilities remains steady; I anticipate Doncaster will provide opportunities for us to play, aiming to exploit areas where we struggle to maintain possession. However, we must assert ourselves to force Doncaster into granting us playing space. By pressing them to retreat, we can create expanses of open field.

Match Discussion: Game 3 - The Shrimps (A)
It was a rather unique game in my view. It's not common to witness a team with so much possession struggle to score. It's a bit of a puzzling situation. On one hand, it's impressive to control the game, but on the other, it's a bit frustrating to see that dominance not result in goals. However, let's not dwell on the negatives! Keeping a clean sheet in an away game is fantastic. I think our players could benefit from more top-notch coaching on breaking down compact defences. Games like these help the management pinpoint areas for improvement. I'm excited for a more assertive approach in our next match.

Match Discussion: PSF - Forest (H)
A huge step forward from the Stoke friendly, but again we know these are just about trying things. However, I like the fact that Notts, under Luke Williams’ instructions, tried the standard 4-4-2 formation. I hope we are able to adapt and play well in the league without relying on one formation. It was this change that made us competitive against Forest. If we had stuck with 5-3-1, I think we would have struggled to create chances. It was a good, entertaining game.
