  1. I am among the 2500 fans embarking on the journey to Doncaster tomorrow, and I'll be accompanied by a friend who isn't particularly interested in football. I believe this match offers Notts a favorable opportunity to secure points on the table, a viewpoint I concur with. If Notts manages to unsettle them, their position in the league could work to our advantage. If they become frustrated and agitated, it might result in errors and potential opportunities for us. Our ability to craft better chances needs to be enhanced, and we must capitalize on any clear opportunities that come our way.
  2. Well said, @Fan of Big Tone. I appreciate your perspective in overlooking this matter. Personally, I would definitely inform Lynn about it and seek an apology. Instances like these should not occur, and fans should not be expected to simply remain silent. There are certain staff members at Notts who seem too complacent in their positions, mistakenly thinking that they are exempt from providing a high standard of fan care.
  3. The extension of Macaualay Langstaff's contract is highly positive news, a development I initially found somewhat surprising. It was an unexpected announcement, and I'm pleased that it has been finalized. While a release clause may be in place, Langstaff's interview about the deal is infused with a strong sense of passion for Notts.
  4. There were indeed videos and footage shared of the training sessions. This was an activity he was engaged in prior to assuming the Notts role, and I'm uncertain if he still maintains this practice. It's fair to say that he didn't significantly alter Notts' style of play, apart from instilling a more attack-minded approach.
  5. The introduction of live match discussions holds promise and is likely to gain momentum as more fans participate. It's a promising feature.
  6. Luke Williams has indicated his intention to recruit a player capable of performing in defence or as a defensive midfielder. This suggests that the ongoing injury situation might indeed pose a challenge throughout the entire season. If that is the case, it might be prudent to permit him a gradual return to action, granting him additional time for recovery.
  7. How about the great Graeme Lee?
  8. Turn those adversities into character-building moments! We've seen that happen with Notts, and John Bostock has simply put it in words. Let's take heart from this message, support our lads, and look forward to an emphatic finish.
  9. Luke Williams' honestly realistic approach is refreshing. Rather than brushing over the challenges, acknowledging focus lapses is a positive step in improvement. His mutual respect and connection with the fans also speak volumes about his management style.
  10. The issue is that once you begin implementing more cards, it can escalate into chaos, and those referees who enjoy exerting their authority might only exacerbate the situation, further detracting from the game. Personally, I would prefer the introduction of a system where incidents are reviewed if reported, and then a panel assesses whether it merits suspension due to repeated behavior. Granting match officials greater power to manage the game could lead to the unjust issuance of needless cards.
  11. Welcome to PON @MagpieRoy.
  12. The single point earned is a commendable outcome, especially considering the clean sheet. There's no reason to feel disheartened. The players performed admirably in certain moments and managed to generate opportunities. The indications suggest that progress is being made, and as a fan, that's all I can hope for.
  13. Good luck to Brad McGregor, Grantham Town is a decent team for young Brad to get settled with in their first-team environment.
  14. I am hoping the win gives the team confidence to move forward from here, the first win is important but so is protecting it when you do win. I don't know if Luke Williams will get the same level of performance, but I do wish from a defensive point of view that we don't gift any goals. We need to make it harder, make teams work to score, but I do see the game being open. A draw is probably a fair call at this stage.
  15. Notts put on a good team display, and Jodi is right about the importance of the win. The atmosphere at Meadow Lane was very good; even the Derek Pavis stand, where I was sitting, joined in. It’s very much like Notts to play in a manner that makes them the underdogs in games, and I don’t really mind that, as long as it’s not too much of a setback. At 2-1, I thought it was over, but thankfully Jodi Jones showed his class with those two crosses.
  16. I must confess, as much as the drama increases the adrenaline, it'd be a relief to see a thorough, calculated win without giving the fans mini heart attacks. I hope Williams holds steadfast on his aim to reduce that. In addition, the controlled aggression during those first and second balls could be a game changer for the team if we can maintain that intensity across the game. Who else felt the ground shaking from the support? Absolutely wonderful to be a part of the roaring crowd.
  17. Notts showed great character to come back from behind twice and claim all three points in a thrilling match at Meadow Lane. It's never easy to come back from behind, let alone twice in one match, but Notts County showed great resilience and determination to do just that.
  18. Notts seems more than ready for the upcoming season. The comments by team’s captain, Kyle Cameron, suggest that they are approaching the season with not just a lot of optimism but also with a realistic understanding of the challenges they'll face in the League Two. I see this as a great combination reflecting both their dreams and their conscientious preparation. However, not everything may follow the script. So, it’s essential to keep the morale high even if we face any hiccups on the journey. I fully back the team to rise to the occasion and make us, the fans, proud.
  19. Hello, welcome to the PON site @David Shipston.
  20. It’s clear that Williams’ tactics are working wonders, particularly when you consider how well the team performed against Forest. I can’t wait to see more of this tactical brilliance throughout the season!
  21. It’s great to have the squad photo released. The club should always find time to do these and share them with the fans.
  22. The game wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination. I think Notts worked the ball well and looked quite good on the ball. I wish Cedwyn Scott had a bit better service to him, but Shrewsbury defended well. They looked just as inconsistent as us in other areas, but I do think Notts looked the better team. A draw was a fair result in my opinion.
  23. Good interview, a bit miffed with the fatigued injuries, but it is a good thing they are being carefully watched. Prevention of injuries is important, and it’s a bit concerning that Will Randall keeps picking them up, but it could just be Williams protecting the players ahead of the season.
  24. Yes, I would think loan deals for the pair would help them gain experience and prepare them for first-team football. There’s zero point in having them on the bench.
  25. Very impressed by the in-depth introspection Williams has done for the team's preparation. Fatigue injuries might seem minor right now, but they could escalate if not reined in timely, shedding light on this issue is definitely the right move. Will Randall's repeated injuries could be a trend we don't want often, here's hoping the medical team figures it out soon. In addition to physical preparation, Williams' focus on strong player relationships and maintaining a supportive environment is equally noteworthy. This holistic strategy for mentoring the team and fostering a team spirit screams of a well-rounded approach to management. I'm keenly awaiting our boys to represent Notts in League Two.
