  1. The signing of a player of Gosling's experience and caliber sends a clear signal about Notts County's ambition this season. His proven track record at the highest levels of English football and leadership attributes complement perfectly the culture we’re developing at the club. This is certainly an exciting time for us fans and I can't wait to see Gosling in action!
  2. It really shows the resilience of McGoldrick and by extension, Notts County. It’s inspiring to see how a setback like a surprising defeat to Mansfield can become a stepping stone for progress rather than a stumbling block. It takes a good leader to have such a refreshing perspective in challenging times and we're lucky to have McGoldrick at the team.
  3. It would be good to start winning again, but I know Gillingham are a strong team. They want to get promoted, so it will be interesting to see how the match goes. If Notts can play well, I think we should win, but that means the team needs to turn up and work hard. There are no easy games for either team, but we need to see Notts play aggressively again. It would be good for them to focus on the result and work towards it.
  4. The performance wasn't bad, but the defending and Aidan Stone's passing were the problems. I think Luke Williams should tell the players not to always try to play the ball out from the back. I can see when it is useful and effective, but when a team presses and tries to win the ball, it can lead to problems. Look at the playoff final against Chesterfield. They came out trying to score early and it caused us problems. I don't know why we can't identify these problems before they become a problem, like we saw against Colchester United.
  5. It wasn't a terrible performance, but if we couldn't score goals, it would have been. Aidan Baldwin struggles if Notts can't control the game. I think it's unfair to pick on him, but I was disappointed with his passing. Usually, he is a good passer. All the defenders need to improve their game.
  6. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, @Morten Johansen. For an overseas fan, PoN should be a very useful site for you, don't be put off from joining in because this will give you more of an understanding on Notts.
  7. Luke Williams’ careful study of opponents is commendable. His refusal to underestimate teams based on league rankings is a lesson for others. His strategy reveals his analytical thinking and focus on key game-changing factors - adaptability and tactical skill. However, the 4-3 loss to Colchester shows that there’s room for improvement, particularly in defence. Losing isn’t the end of the world, but it’s a reminder that we need to be defensively sound. As a fan, I share Williams’ view that Colchester can be a tough opponent. I hope his understanding and planning lead to a Notts County victory in future games.
  8. Stallard's point about individual errors really struck a chord with me. Watching the game, I can't help but tense up every time the opposition mounts an attack, knowing our defence might falter. It's time for us to strengthen up in the back, without compromising on our attacking might.
  9. I believe Forest Green Rovers weren’t adequately recognised for their potential before the match. They began energetically and forced Notts to earn their lead. Scoring goals before half-time was an ideal situation, but it quickly turned sour as Notts’ performance deteriorated. Everything seemed challenging until they scored their first goal, and even then, our counterattacks weren’t as potent as they could have been. The 2-2 draw was a wake-up call for Notts, and thankfully, the team responded positively thereafter. However, it was disheartening to concede a penalty. I may not be an expert, but deciding to trip someone in the penalty area seems ill-advised. Connell Rawlinson should be regretting that decision, rather than engaging with fans on social media. All the hard work put in by the team was nearly undone. Yes, it was entertaining, but if we’re discussing improvements and game-changing moments, we need to acknowledge that allowing the opposition to play freely can invite danger.
  10. I think it's meaningful that despite a win, Williams and the team are focusing on lessons from the game. Every game provides an opportunity to assess and grow; winning doesn't erase the need for that. Remembering strengths and applying them, maintaining intensity, and managing games better are all areas flagged by Williams for growth. It shows the dedication to improvement which will undoubtedly lead to more developed performances and further victories. This relentless pursuit of perfection is indeed the hallmark of a formidable team.
  11. I'm extraordinarily impressed by the way Notts is consistently upping their game and driving themselves to perform better. The high standards they set for themselves manifest in their relentless preparation and training routine, and the 'no-excuses' mindset has almost become a mantra for success. When Crowley spoke about the team focusing on vitally important game elements like crossing and positioning, it really highlighted the holistic approach they're taking to improve their game. The players' confidence that they can outrun any team exhibits the significant psychological impact their rigorous training has had.
  12. The youth and academy structure seems to be a valuable resource for Notts. However, it’s crucial that we provide these young talents with ample time to enhance their skills, rather than hastily sending them out on loan. Regarding the coaching structure, I’m gratified and appreciative that our proprietors recognise the significance of proper organisation in this area. We might be a few years away from witnessing home-grown talent appearing more frequently in the starting eleven, but a well-defined route, guided by seasoned professionals, will undoubtedly facilitate this process.
  13. Williams' strategic approach to the game is setting new standards at Notts. The insistence on playing attractive, attacking football demonstrates not just his understanding of the game, but his belief in our players. Moreover, recognising the importance of teamwork and cohesion among players speaks volumes about his ability as a leader. It’s a great time to be a Notts fan.
  14. Luke's pragmatic approach to the season is refreshing to see. Keeping their feet on the ground, despite being at the top of the league, shows a realistic and mature perspective that will surely be beneficial in the long run. Talking about focus on performance and continuous improvement sends a great message to the team and us supporters.
  15. Crowley's adept adaptability has affected the Magpies’ performance positively. His astute understanding of the game, coupled with his talent, has ensured that he’s a perfect fit within the squad. It boils down to his ability to take on the tactical advice from his coaches and incorporate it into his gameplay. Genuine credit to Notts County’s coaching staff for nurturing such a talent and guiding the team to success.
  16. It sounds like MK Dons are missing one or two of their regular players. I have no idea if that will be of any benefit, but I think it’s safe to say both teams will have depth, even on their bench. I am hoping Notts give a steady performance; I will be at the game. I am hoping to see many more Notts fans in good spirits on the day.
  17. Everything about what Luke Williams says, I appreciate. He’s giving Macaulay Langstaff confidence here. A manager’s backing can be one of the biggest things for a striker. We know he has goals in him; we know he works hard. Luke is sending out a positive message and hopefully any doubters will pay attention to his wise words.
  18. Truly happy to see such a glorious triumph for Notts. The game was pretty tense at the start, with Accrington flashing the ball a couple times and Notts showing slight signs of discomfort. However, our boys showed real grit and answered back loud and clear. Langstaff's brace was the cherry on top, they simply couldn’t match his calibre! It was also pleasing to see how the team, under the guidance of Williams, adjusted their game plan to counter every move by Accrington. The tactical adaptability our lads showed was truly remarkable. Lingering on the top spot on the league table caps our superb run in the game. Truly proud to be a Magpie!

  20. What a game! Although Accrington tried to level the field, they ultimately couldn’t hold off Notts' persistent attacks, especially in the second half. Langstaff’s performance added further vigour to our spirits. Three wins in a row! We’re riding a wave of positivity here.
  21. Accrington Stanley may be the first in-form team Notts have played at Meadow Lane, but I have confidence in the squad to achieve a strong outcome. It may be a close game, but I will take a narrow win if that is what happens. Also, I don’t believe a draw would be all that bad; yes, ideally Notts would claim the points, but one point is better than none at all.
  22. It's interesting to see Connell Rawlinson embodying this sentiment. His acknowledgement of how 'the three points matter more' is an indicative statement of a player who values contribution over personal achievements. His preparedness to contribute to the team's success, combined with his praise of Luke Williams, highlights Notts County’s strong ethos of unity and interdependence. It's commendable both as a player and as a team member.
  23. One of the primary attractions of the Pride of Nottingham is its well-written and enjoyable articles. Unlike content from the BBC or Nottingham Live, which is often merely skimmed on social media, these pieces command attention.
  24. Luke Williams' approach of protecting his players and not making minor mistakes into bigger issues. It's crucial to support them during challenging moments and help them grow. Mistakes happen to everyone, and it's through support and encouragement that players can learn and improve. Good players can force mistakes, regardless of the performance of the opposing team. Williams' focus on the development of the players will ultimately lead to improvement and better performances in the future.
  25. The match provided a truly enjoyable viewing experience. Our impressive turnout of supporters added to the joy of the occasion. Even if we had brought along just 1,000 fans, I believe their enthusiasm and noise level would have been just as remarkable. Such passionate backing is truly remarkable and must be sustained. The special bond that has formed between the fans and the club needs to be nurtured. Victories like this should serve as stepping stones for the future. The goals scored during the match were all expertly constructed and executed.
