  1. It’s good to see him performing well. I always believed he could come good. Last season, the critics said we would be in the relegation zone, and I do wonder if their energy could be better spent encouraging the team. It’s disappointing that some people wanted them to fail. He is a good coach, and all they needed was time. The squad has improved since last season, which is a massive positive. I think the club made the right choice by standing by him, and the transition after Luke Williams’ departure has been quite smooth now that he has his own players.
  2. We need to keep building as we are, but there’s little point in being strong in defence if we are lacking in other areas. The squad we have now is the strongest we’ve had in some time, and the addition of Alex Bass is excellent. It’s a positive step, but I believe some areas could still do with further strengthening when the time is right.
  3. Pep is the least of their worries. With the money and talent they have, they should be a stronger force in the Champions League. It's not good for football when a manager seems bigger than the club. If he decides to leave, so be it. They should be more concerned about the serious charges they are facing.

  5. He spoke well in his interview after the match. I appreciate the respect he shows, even when the other team doesn't display the same level of class. The management has done their research, and we should be better at set pieces. It would be great to score more from corners, but that will come with time.
  6. Alex Bass played exceptionally well, but I voted for Matty Platt. We mustn't overlook how important his goal was, and he was also very solid defensively.
  7. Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Swansea City QPR 0-2 Portsmouth Blackpool 2-2 Barnsley Lincoln City 0-2 Birmingham City Bradford City 0-0 Gillingham Port Vale 1-1 Fleetwood Town Maidenhead United 0-1 Hartlepool United Joker Sutton United 1-3 Oldham Athletic
  8. AFC Wimbledon are a good team who will present problems. They have a very good counter-attack, so I think we will have our share of the ball. It will come down to who holds the game and makes use of the possession. All the talk about the goals only coming from certain players needs to be forgotten because it just puts pressure on the likes of Matt Palmer and the players who have yet to score. If we create good enough chances, anyone could put them away. I would much rather see Notts work on creating chances.
  9. I miss the live results being announced on TV. These days, I check them on my phone, but I would prefer to watch them just for nostalgic reasons.
  10. His nationality doesn't matter. What is important is his ability to get the best out of the players he chooses and his knowledge of tactics. All this "I would have rather had an English manager" is a fairytale belief because there are few good enough English managers ready for such a big appointment. Unfortunately, this is just how it is. While I would love to see Eddie Howe in the role, he has plenty of time yet for this to happen. If not Howe, then who? Lee Carsley was an interesting decision, but I don't think the F.A wanted him either. All this complaining is part of the issue with England. We have a manager now, and we need to get on with it.
  11. It’s refreshing to see someone so young but already so grounded in the game. Abbott’s reflections on the match and his versatility speak volumes about his character. Playing on the wing is tough, yet he made a real impact and that assist for Jatta was perfectly timed. He’s clearly got a bright future ahead, and I’m thrilled he’s bringing his best to Notts. Here’s hoping he settles even more, and maybe we’ll see him on the scoresheet soon.
  12. I voted for George Abbott. I thought he gave a strong and consistent performance and helped Notts a lot. So, I believe he deserves my support in the vote.
  13. Crawley Town 1-1 Shrewsbury Town Peterborough United 3-1 Rotherham United Barrow 2-0 Morecambe Cheltenham Town 0-2 Swindon Town ???? Joker Doncaster Rovers 1-2 Crewe Alexandra Harrogate Town 1-0 Newport County Salford City 2-2 Grimsby Town Tranmere Rovers 1-1 Bradford City
  14. It was a tough loss to watch, especially when the lads showed so much promise early on. The disallowed offside goal feels like a sore point, understandably, but it can’t overshadow the bigger issue of squandered chances. It’s evident Maynard’s tactical decisions have brought about better gameplay so far, minus the finishing touch. With key players out, and the team structure constantly changing, everyone’s having to adjust on the fly, which is commendable. We’ve seen this happen often, our injured could come back to provide the spark we need. The Chesterfield match looms large, not just for standings but for pride as well.
  15. I thought there were some good performers yesterday. Kellan Gordon did well on the wing and put in some nice balls to Jatta. I couldn’t understand why we didn’t throw more bodies into the Port Vale area instead of hoping one player could change the outcome. My vote goes to Dan Crowley.
  16. Notts needed David McGoldrick today. I don’t know why we are so afraid to test the keeper from distance. The passing is encouraging at times, and our midfield is one of the best, but we didn’t play to Jatta’s strengths enough. He didn’t look like he would change things. It’s not his fault; it’s how we attacked as a team. He’s not a striker who involves himself non-stop until he pulls a chance off. You have to provide him with the chance to score by playing him into threatening areas.
  17. Coventry City 3-1 Sheffield Wednesday Watford 0-0 Middlesbrough Mansfield Town 1-0 Blackpool Rotherham United 0-1 Reading Joker Accrington Stanley 3-1 Morecambe Swindon Town 2-2 Harrogate Town Eastleigh 2-0 Forest Green Rovers Halifax Town 3-0 Tamworth
  18. I have confidence in our squad’s defensive capabilities, thanks to Stuart Maynard’s leadership and the players’ dedication. While we may concede some soft goals, it’s important to remember we’re still a League Two team, and challenges are inevitable. However, with a keeper like Alex Bass, who was instrumental in keeping Carlisle at bay during their strong second half, the fighting spirit of Notts County shines through. It was a fantastic away result, with the job done in the first half. We can’t overlook the importance of each player working hard to prevent Carlisle from making a comeback, highlighting the collective effort and resilience of the team.
  19. Yes, I am voting for Alex Bass because I don’t see anyone else playing what I would consider a near-perfect performance. In terms of rating, he would be 9.7, which is exceptional.
  20. I don’t feel like we’ll concede easily with this squad. Stuart Maynard has the players giving their best. While some goals are a bit soft, we must remember we’re still a League Two team. Things will go against us sometimes, but with a keeper like Alex Bass, teams like Carlisle, who had a strong second half, show the fighting spirit of Notts County. It was a fantastic result away from home, with the job done in the first half. We can’t underestimate the importance of each player working hard to stop Carlisle from coming back into it.
  21. Norwich City 0-2 Leeds United Sunderland 0-0 Derby County Birmingham City 2-2 Huddersfield Town Crawley Town 2-2 Mansfield Town Leyton Orient 1-3 Exeter City Doncaster Rovers 1-1 Barrow Newport County 0-2 Salford City ???? Joker Tranmere Rovers 2-2 Swindon Town
  22. Over the years, Notts have had some stunning away shirts that have stuck in my memory from watching the players. One of our famous kits, which looked like Norwich City's, was a lovely one and is now considered a classic. I don’t mind what shirt or kit we wear, as long as we perform well in it.
  23. I’m really liking the welcome header on the dashboard. I noticed it when using the site on my PC and wondered why it wasn’t there on my phone. I have to say, while I remember all the member photos and topics from the old "Who We Are" section, this new version keeps things simple and is a nice touch. I also like the stats popup.
  24. The defeat to Gillingham and our injuries have set back our performances, but we haven’t been that bad. I believe Carlisle will be more organised and a bigger threat on goal, but we need to make our greater possession count. We have the players, so it will be interesting to see how Stuart Maynard approaches it.
  25. A few players performed really well. It wasn’t so much about individual performances, but as a team, nothing quite clicked when it mattered. I have voted for David McGoldrick.
