Notts County squad 'needs reinforcements' - Paterson
The board surely can’t believe the job’s done, especially if Jatta’s heading out. It would be a disaster not to bring someone in to replace him properly. I agree with the calls for another striker, and I’d add a keeper to that list too. It’s hard to see why Kelle Roos keeps getting minutes when others are missing out. The focus seems to have been on midfielders, but it’s strange not to strengthen the areas where we’re clearly struggling. It doesn’t quite add up. If nothing else, we need a striker. But with the way things are at the back, a centre half might be even more urgent.

Scouting dossier : Have Charlton Athletic been looking at my recommendations
I wouldn’t let it put you off just because only a few people replied. These things can take time, and sometimes folk need a bit of encouragement. I’m always up for hearing about new players. Please think about giving it another go, you can always follow up later with how your picks move between clubs. You never know, it might spark more interest.

Scouting Dossier : England U21 v Slovenia
Valued at around £400,000, or so it’s said, you’d think there might be better bargains out there for that kind of money. I’m fairly sure the fee for Alex Bass is still sitting in the pot. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/martin-turk/profil/spieler/700643

Allasana Jatta Injured.
The rejected £750,000 bid from Plymouth Argyle might be where all this started. Even if Notts only put 30% of that back into the squad, it could still make a real difference. It might help strengthen the areas we’ve struggled with early on. Alassana Jatta’s been a solid player, and I’ve got no hard feelings towards him. If he does go, I’d rather it be with respect and a proper send-off. He’s earned that much. It’s a shame, though, if he’s refusing to play just because there’s talk of a move. That’s not the way to go about it, and it doesn’t help anyone.

Gordon Bennetts on the touchline: what could possibly go wrong?
@Robbie, It’s only a bit of fun, but Kellan Gordon reminds me of a tap. One minute he’s boiling, the next he’s freezing. You never quite know what you’re going to get. Keanan Bennetts is still a bit of a mystery. The jury might not be out, but if you gave him a shoe box to defend, I’m not sure it would survive the half. That said, they’re both decent squad players. They’ve got their moments, just as they’ve got their off days. You take the rough with the smooth.

Who's your Man of the Match v Bromley?
If Nick Tsaroulla had stayed on, I think he would have been a strong choice for my vote. He was excellent and handled a tall Bromley side really well. I’ve voted for Matthew Dennis because I believe he deserves it. He made a big impact and stood out across the match. If Nick had played longer, I think I would have weighed up both performances more closely. It would have been a tough call between the two.

Matthew Dennis Strikes Twice but Bromley Deny Notts County Victory
I felt Bromley were always working their way back into the game. Taking off Nick Tsaroulla and Barry Cotter didn’t help, but I understand it’s about managing fitness, keeping players sharp, and giving them the right amount of minutes. Personally, I would have kept Tsaroulla on and taken off Cotter and Jodi. Both need a bit of protection, Cotter because of the physical battles he faces, and Jodi because he’s not quite ready to play a full 90 minutes yet. Even though I agree the changes didn’t help us, Bromley were starting to find space and cause problems. They got in behind our wing backs and put dangerous balls across the box. Notts struggled with the high balls and looked shaky at the back. I think Bromley knew which players were likely to make mistakes, and they saw Kelle Roos as someone they could beat. It’s a shame their equaliser came from such a lucky deflection.

Allasana Jatta Injured.
The BBC do know how to stir up a mystery, without really chasing proper answers. You can't rely on the media in situations like this, and you're left to decide for yourself what sounds believable. The press want clicks, the club want to avoid awkward questions, and it's the fans who are stuck not knowing what's true. It would be better for everyone if the truth was just shared. If it's a back spasm, the timing feels odd. It’s hard not to be suspicious when something like this pops up right before a big game. If the club knows there’s some unhappiness behind the scenes, and they’re still choosing to go with just one striker while this plays out, it doesn’t add up. It raises more questions than it answers. Maybe it’s all part of a plan. Say he’s injured, then he suddenly recovers and Bromley don’t see it coming. Could be a bit of mind games, couldn’t it? This sort of thing is perfect for conspiracy theories. There’s just enough mystery to keep people guessing, and no one really knows what’s going on.

Notts County Cruise Past Shrewsbury Town with First Win of the Season
It’s important not to get ahead of ourselves, just like at the start of the season. Still, it was a strong showing, and the goals made it a fun match to watch. Notts put in a good shift. Shrewsbury looked like they’re struggling more than we are, which is a positive sign for us, though it’s a shame for them. I was hoping we’d keep a clean sheet, but credit to them, their goal was nicely taken. Notts could do with some work on these situations. Our positioning wasn’t the best for their goal, but apart from that, there’s plenty to feel good about.

Who's is your Man of the Match against Barrow?
I thought Nick Tsaroulla was superb when he came on. It’s great to have a player like him, skilful and calm with the ball. He can beat a man and still keep possession, which is rare. That kind of control and awareness isn’t something you see often at the moment. A lot of players struggle with decision-making, so it’s refreshing to see someone who thinks clearly on the pitch.

The Value of the Technical Board
Some fans seem strongly against something that hasn’t even been in place for long. It feels like they’re making things harder for themselves, especially when it’s not much different from chatting with mates or talking about Notts in public. The only real change is that the board will pass those thoughts on to the head coach. If the feedback is constructive, it could help over time. There’s no harm in trying, and if it doesn’t work, I doubt Notts would keep doing it. Like anything new, it needs time. Some might say that talking about Notts doesn’t affect the club, but it can. It can cause frustration among fans, and players might see those comments too. Everything has the chance to make a difference, as long as it’s thoughtful and constructive.

Notts County 1-2 Salford City: Magpies Fall Short in First Home Game of the Season
I don’t think the slow signings have helped. I’m sure Martin Paterson had the team set up properly for Salford, and the squad should have done better. The passing was really poor yesterday. Notts only have themselves to blame for not getting the result. It’s not all bad, but the disappointing parts do sting. Salford, even with their problems, played well. We never got close to matching them.

Where are they now : George Abbott
That cutout of George Abbott looks seriously awkward. Hopefully he performs better for Wycombe than they did with that image. He’s a talented young lad who needs the right support, and I reckon Wycombe fans will be pleased with him by the end of the season.

Notts Injury Watch 2025/26
It’ll be good to have most of the squad back fit. Some players seem a bit too injury prone though, Lucas Ness comes to mind. And Mai Traore really needs to step up and show more on the pitch.

It could be worse. The BBC might as well have its own version of You’ve Been Framed with the amount of slip-ups they make.

Bradford City finding "huge inflation" in EFL1
Bradford City can’t really moan about higher fees if they rush into deals. Players want more these days, and it’s often better to wait and let things settle. If you buy anything the moment it’s released, you usually pay more than if you wait a few weeks. Football’s no different, but they’ve got other things they should be focusing on.
