  1. @menzinho, that's a good point, and it could be the reason. Maybe Notts wants to announce the head coach along with the full team. But then, surely starting with the head coach and assistant would make sense? I guess it depends on how Notts wants to restructure. It’s possible the club is looking to hire new coaches, and some of the current staff might be negotiating their exits. We'll have to wait and see.
  2. Footballers come and go, and when a signing like this happens, it's natural not to know what to expect. Sometimes, though, these signings bring something different to the team. We can be quite predictable, and as long as he has the ball control expected at a professional level, he should do well. If he's not good enough, he won't get much game time, but I'm sure he'll be eager to impress.
  3. It's a fantastic retro shirt! Match Winner has clearly taken time to produce the kit properly. A lot of retro kit makers rush their designs, importing them from China just to cash in on nostalgia. To make something high-quality, you need to care about the details. Match Winner has done that here, it looks great.
  4. Luke Williams coming back? I don’t see it happening. If he were returning, surely the discussions wouldn’t be dragging on. If we keep hoping for it, we might just end up disappointed or fixated on a head coach we prefer. Most likely, the Reedtz brothers will go for someone unexpected, but hopefully the fan base will get behind the decision.
  5. The bridge is showing its age. It needs much more than a fresh coat of paint, but it’s a landmark worth restoring properly. It’s an important route for drivers, and it deserves real investment.
  6. I don’t use Discord, but I’ll take a look when I have some time. I’m not very familiar with WhatsApp, Discord, and other similar platforms.
  7. I'm surprised we've signed another central midfielder. At the moment, I don't see how Ollie Norburn fits in. We already have plenty of options in that position, which could be useful if changes are needed. It might allow him time to get up to pace, but with Matt Palmer and Scott Robertson, among others, there's going to be strong competition. Who will be playing further forward? We still need attacking midfield options, as David McGoldrick’s departure leaves a gap, along with Dan Crowley. On paper, this looks positive, but I’ll reserve judgement on how good the signing really is.
  8. You would think the news would start rolling in by now. We've announced three games in Germany, Alfreton for the first team, and Basford likely for the reserves. The updates should flow naturally, yet somehow, what are the odds that by Friday at midnight, there’s still no word on the head coach appointment?
  9. There I was, convinced Notts had a head coach all lined up, adamant that the club must embark on a proper German tour and refusing to sign the contract until at least three clubs had been booked in. Then again, maybe the Reedtz have just been busy tinkering with the training ground and reshuffling the coaching setup before making their move. Priorities, eh?
  10. It's a true underdog story, and I really hope it ends happily for the players who want to go further in their football careers.
  11. I usually go to the Navi or the Embankment pub for a drink before the match. I only have one unless I’m meeting up with others. I try to get into the ground before the queues start building up. I’ve had a look around The Nest, but it’s not really for me. I’d only go there if I was meeting people, but I do like that we have a place where fans can gather in large numbers and the profits go directly to the club. I’m not keen on how the MLSB has changed in recent years. It doesn’t feel like a place to have a drink anymore, more like somewhere to mess around before a game. A good atmosphere can make matches more enjoyable, and I like the bigger games, like Grimsby and Chesterfield.
  12. I have sat in both the KOP and the Derek Pavis stands in recent years. Last season, I was in the Pavis, but this time, I’ve moved back to the KOP. I enjoy watching a match from the front, side-on view, but for this campaign, I want to be where the atmosphere is. Hopefully, by the end of the season, we’ll be celebrating promotion.
  13. I hope the lad is doing well. A season in the National League with Carlisle United could really help his career. Will Patching could play a big role in their push to return to the Football League. If they struggle at the first attempt, he might attract interest and move on. A good spell at a club that needs a player of his potential would bring out the best in him.
  14. The last I knew about Jon Stead, he was running his own coaching school and had been appointed as a coach. I can’t remember which team, but this sounds like a big move for him. He always looks so serious, though. He should relax a bit more!
  15. If it gets any hotter or more humid, I’m scrapping my holiday plans and settling in for two solid weeks of cold beers in the back garden. If I fancy cooling off, I’ll stick a paddling pool out. Let there be some wind!
  16. Let them train on The Embankment, it’ll help prepare them for the rough pitches we’ll face in League Two. When we trained at the National setup in Burton, it felt like a waste of time, especially with players like Dean Leacock complaining about the pitch. At least Meadow Lane is like a gorgeous rug, and the new training facility agreement sounds like a great move. Working with the Uni is a smart decision.
  17. Changing to SleepingGiant could have lasted you 2-4 years, so it might have been worth considering. You seem safe with KingofCounty, unless your name's Russell. You might want to rethink that, lad!
  18. It’s easy to point the finger at the manager, just as much as it is at the players. But when one or two have an off day, it makes things harder for the rest of the team. It was unlucky that Senegal were the complete opposite. I thought they played very well. It’s hard to feel bitter about losing to such an organised team, one that clearly played to win when England just couldn’t find their rhythm.
  19. A mini German pre-season tour seems to be happening. I wonder if any more matches will be arranged whilst Notts are over there. It could be a great summer for fans, not just for European culture and sightseeing but also for watching Notts in action.
  20. I haven't written one in a while. I scrapped my last blog because the mood in the Notts camp felt so low. I thought it would do more harm than good. Now, with the first signing and a head coach yet to be named, it's got me thinking again.
  21. If someone has to edit a picture to make a rumour seem more believable, I am more likely to think I will be the first Notts fan on Mars. I wouldn't worry, just wait for the official news.
  22. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham and the community, take some time to settle and you should enjoy the site @PieHard.
  23. It's frustrating when things get to this point and cause problems. For the sake of fairness, something should be looked at that doesn’t punish Palace fans. In the past, they tried to force owners to choose who they wanted to sell to, but that never worked. The only real option I can see is imposing penalties on both connected clubs if anything suspicious happens during matches.
  24. I like how the site feels more like an app on mobile. It's much easier to use, rather than feeling awkward. The old version was always impressive, but this takes it to another level. I might start using my phone more when I have free time while I'm out and about, as I usually post from my computer.
  25. It's great to see this latest announcement. The site looks good, and I have always thought PON was an excellent place. Thanks to everyone who has helped improve it.
