  1. The shot Macaulay Langstaff had was a close effort. All the talk and lack of playing time impacts a performer, even if they don’t realise it. He would have scored that for us, but it was still a good effort and a positive sign. If Millwall can build similar chances, he’ll come good, but he needs to be played. Millwall need to give him confidence so he can focus and ignore the stats.
  2. He does seem to be finding his feet at AZ. He’s still young, what, 22? He should do well with them and make a strong career for himself. There are worse places to be.
  3. It’s good to see the Notts Women’s team enjoying a solid victory over Mansfield in the cup. Good luck to them in it.
  4. It is nice to see them catching up and sharing a photo together. Both featured for Notts and deserve to be remembered for their contributions. I agree, John Bostock will forever be remembered for being a rock in midfield at his best for Notts.
  5. Morecambe should be fine. It’s early days, and they just need to adjust and get their first win of the season. I think they’ll end up mid-table or in the lower half, but away from the drop.
  6. It is a grim video that still grabs your attention and makes you think. Does anyone remember BBC’s Ghost Watch? That had a similar effect on the nation in the 90s.
  7. I am happier knowing Notts are at home to Gillingham than playing at their ground. I feel the 12th man will encourage the players to perform at their best. Stuart Maynard is right about the depth. Rotation at times is useful too. It was good to see Jodi Jones, Jatta, and Dan Crowley find the net.
  8. Happy Birthday, @CliftonMagpie! If you’re 22, reversing it won’t make you feel any younger! Enjoy your day! ????
  9. Junior Morias has pace and the ability to score. His move to Notts seemed bright, but he just didn’t get much chance. He has a good rapport at Dagenham, and they can get the best out of him. I would like to see it work out here, but I also don’t think it’s likely.
  10. Jodi Jones' commitment to our club until 2027 speaks volumes about his character and passion. What truly sets him apart is how much he values the fans and their support. You can feel the excitement in his words when he talks about staying. His preference for assisting teammates instead of chasing personal stats embodies true sportsmanship. Under the direction of Stuart Maynard, Jones has grown immensely, and his decision to remain signifies his belief in the club’s future. His connection with fans and his unselfish play style are what make him such a cherished player at Notts County
  11. Palmer’s return has been marked by an incredible performance and much-needed leadership. His ability to come back from a serious injury and immediately make an impact speaks volumes about his resilience and professionalism. Against Bromley, his influence was unmistakable as he guided the team from a precarious position to a glorious victory. His reflections post-match highlighted the depth of the squad and his admiration for teammates like Jodi Jones. It’s clear that Palmer is not only a player but also a mentor and motivator. His experience will be pivotal as we continue in League Two, and his return could not have come at a better time.
  12. I am sorry to read about your near-death experience, @Wheelbarrow repair man. You seem to have handled the situation well, but still take care of yourself. It can’t be good for the body, and you may still have some form of shock. I wish you well.
  13. Yes, long may it continue. Meadow Lane looks much better, and if we are to cope pound for pound, we need to keep the gates up. At some stage, it may see season ticket prices increasing, and the only way to reasonably combat this is to ensure good gates on match days.
  14. Don Masson has no doubt been one of the club’s best purchases. His arrival at Meadow Lane began a very good era despite the start of his time. Without Masson, Notts simply didn’t click as much, and with him, we became a very capable side that could cause any top-flight team trouble on the day. He was vital throughout his time at Notts County. The Don is a legend of the game.
  15. Jodi Jones played out of his skin, earning my vote. Without his drive to get Notts back into the game, Notts might have continued to struggle. The squad did excellently once they got to grips with the game, but Jodi shined throughout.
  16. Solid performance once those horrible 6 minutes had passed. I don’t know why Cheek always seems likely to score against Notts, but he was outshined in the long run. The penalty couldn’t have come at a better time, and while 4-2 might be misleading based on how Bromley played, there’s no doubt Notts deserved the win. It was a classy performance to come back into the game against a decent team who shouldn’t be written off. Wins like this are important.
  17. Happy Birthday, young man. I hope those 3 points are a good present for your special day.
  18. Hello, welcome to the Pride of Nottingham @Pica. Jump in when you can.
  19. What a rollercoaster of a match! To start so poorly and be 2-0 down within six minutes was disheartening, but the team showed immense character. Jodi Jones winning and converting the penalty was the turning point, and from there, the team took control. Dan Crowley and Alassana Jatta’s goals were a testament to our attacking flair. Special mention to Alex Bass for keeping us in the game with some stellar saves. This win is a solid indication of our potential this season.
  20. Sheffield Wednesday 1-2 QPR Swansea City 1-3 Norwich City Joker ???? Bolton Wanderers 1-1 Huddersfield Town Rotherham United 1-2 Burton Albion Carlisle United 0-1 Fleetwood Town Port Vale 3-2 Chesterfield Southend United 0-2 Sutton United Tamworth 2-1 Maidenhead United
  21. Well done, @BromPie. Good to see you reaching the milestone. Also, nice of @Robbie to have noticed.
  22. I wasn’t able to get a ticket for the game, although I had made plans to attend. So, I have a free weekend now. I am not that bothered, but I think Bromley should have allocated more seats to bring in extra revenue from our fans. I hope that Notts can show more improvements away from home. The Swindon win was pleasing and well-deserved, but the home games so far have been much more polished performances from the team. I assume Bromley will want to make it hard work for Notts, so they may commit bodies behind the ball. It would be nice to see David McGoldrick’s form continue. It would also be pleasing to see Matt Palmer make his full return, along with Dan Crowley and Jodi Jones. It’s a must-win game to keep morale high and hope alive amongst the fans.
  23. Securing Jodi Jones’ signature will pay for itself by 2027. I imagine his name is popular on the back of youngsters’ shirts. The seats his entertaining performances will fill should be more than enough to pay back the new deal. I am pleased for Jodi; he’s worked hard for it. I am also pleased that it’s more than a single year. It highlights how much he’s settled at Notts.
  24. I'm over the moon about Jones' contract extension! His contribution to Notts County has been invaluable, evident from his record-breaking 24 assists last season. Jodi's versatility and ability to perform consistently make him a cornerstone of our squad. Stuart Maynard's comments on his potential as a goal threat is exciting. Jodi's adaptation on the right wing has provided us with new tactical advantages, making it harder for opponents to contain him. His improved defensive skills highlight his dedication and growth as a player. Securing his services until 2027 is a fantastic decision by the club. Can't wait to witness more magic from Jodi, he’s a true pie!
  25. Every time I step into Meadow Lane, I feel a sense of pride. The history of Notts County runs deep, and it’s wonderful to see that celebrated while also embracing modern football. The Nest is a fantastic addition, allowing fans to gather and enjoy the atmosphere before matches. Plus, the food options are a breath of fresh air compared to the usual fare. It’s about time we had something decent to eat while supporting our team! Brilliant read!!
