  1. I wish Southend well. They got on my nerves when we played them, but I wish their fans all the best. It’s those that suffer, but I hope they cut out the annoying chants when they play other teams. It’s not effective. If they want to achieve something similar, they should aim for what Coventry City fans did. That was more vocal and to the point.
  2. With this level of strategic additions, it's clear that Notts County are really investing in their success this season. The balance between experience and fresh talent is key, and it seems like the team has managed to strike that balance well. Particularly noteworthy is Dan Crowley's addition as an attacking midfielder. Given his experience with the Arsenal academy, he would likely be a star performer. If the team takes advantage of his skills, I think they could really pose a serious challenge for the League Two title. The key word in my thoughts is "could", we need the results to go our way and remain optimistic as a fan base.
  3. It’s good to see your username again, @Super_Danny_Allsopp. Welcome back to the community; it’s good to see you back.
  4. From a defensive standpoint, it was a good game with much for Luke Williams to take away. Stoke City played well, but Notts made it easier for them and the defence let Aidan Stone down. He seems like a capable keeper, but he can only save what’s in front of him. If the defence can’t prevent one-on-ones, then Williams needs to reconsider. Had we started with our best options, things might have been different. So it’s not all bad. In my opinion, throwing some of the youngsters into a friendly like this can be detrimental as they may not be ready. The PA system sounded clear and was fine for speech, but for some reason, music was set to the same volume, which was deafening. The volume needs adjusting for music as I left with a headache from the loudness before the game and at half-time. It was like being right next to the speakers at a rock concert.
  5. I am happy for Dan Leivers and the team. This is a good thing for the academy and its future players. Just imagine all the potential that will be unlocked with the increased funding and the crucial positions that can now be filled.
  6. Wise words from Luke Williams. It’s going to be a long season, and at least this time around we are prepared to make the players work for their places in the squad. It’s good that we have all four areas of the pitch covered, although there is a slight belief that we may require someone to rival Adam Chicksen and perhaps another quicker centre-back.
  7. You can't help but feel a sense of euphoria over Notts County's triumphant return to the Football League. The team's determination and the support of the fans led to the end of their four-year absence from tier football. This is more than just a welcome return; it's a metaphorical rebirth.
  8. It should be a good run-out for both teams. What I look forward to seeing in friendlies is how the players link and communicate with each other. It will also be interesting to see if Luke Williams mixes up the tactics and formation, or if he sticks with the 5-4-1 formation. And who will be the main striker? It’s got to be Macaulay Langstaff.
  9. Mick Vinter's passing is a heartbreaking loss for the Notts County community. As a player, he was renowned for his physicality and goal-scoring abilities, which made him a force to be reckoned with on the pitch. His time at the club was marked by impressive performances and significant contributions to the team's success. Vinter's commitment to the club extended beyond his playing days, as he stayed involved in coaching and charitable work. His impact and presence will be deeply missed, and his memory will forever be cherished by the fans and the club.
  10. Thrilled with Luke Williams' focus on integration and adaptation for the new arrivals. Building a strong relationship between new and existing players is key to the team's success.
  11. Fantastic news for Notts! Nemane's contract extension is well-deserved. He’s a game-changer.
  12. Matt Palmer is a credit to the club; he could still easily be playing in League One. I have no doubt about it. The map in the original post, I don’t doubt. He’s all over the place and rarely puts a foot wrong.
  13. The Hills Have Eyes, Wrong Turn, Reeker, Descent, and Jeepers Creepers are among the best that I last watched. I gave up with the genre when directors started thinking that doors being slammed and weak efforts to scare you were enough. The 80s was the best decade for horror!
  14. I recognise his face from games. It’s a good story and very interesting to see that he found his wife at a Notts game. That might be rarer than some fans think, but it’s a nice touch to this story.
  15. He sounds like he has a good background and is at the right age to be emotionally ready for first-team football. I hope he has the attitude to bounce back from setbacks, unlike what we saw with Ross Fitzsimons. He will have to compete with Tiernan Brooks and Sam Slocombe for a starting spot.
  16. Charlie, sit properly when you’re interviewing someone; don’t sit all smug with your foot under yourself. It’s a good interview, but Slater is like a chalkboard to me.
  17. The club is doing well, not only with recruitment and the measures Notts has in place to identify talent that can take the club further, but also with winning players on board. I think Luke Williams will play a further role in demonstrating that we are building in the right way. Everything Dan Crowley says reflects so well on Notts right now.
  18. It’s a satisfactory draw; no complaints from me. Plenty of different teams to play home and away, no real extensive run of either home or away games grouped together in a row.
  19. I’ve also chosen David McGoldrick, mainly because I value his experience. I think he’s a good addition to the squad and I’m particularly interested to see how he performs.
  20. Dan Crowley has had an interesting career, starting at Villa and moving to Arsenal. A lot of good players have also come from Coventry. I wonder what makes the city so special in producing talented players? I think he will be a fine player for Notts.
  21. Our time in the National League has indeed made the club rethink things. With the new ownership at the beginning, it was the reset that we needed. Seeing Notts finish consistently in the playoffs shows the forward thinking of the club. I enjoyed the article and feel that it captured the ups and downs of the team’s journey.
  22. I would agree that Notts has evolved since Cal was here. He was a great player, albeit a bit too prone to injury, but he should do well for Scunthorpe United who need to get back up to the National League quickly.
  23. Dan Crowley is a good signing for Notts, his wiki seems very positive and his arrival comes as a boost.
  24. This does indeed look to be a very good signing, and I’m glad you’re impressed. The recruitment does seem to be adding quality into the areas where we most need that extra bit of quality. Dan Crowley looks to be an excellent addition to the team.
  25. It’s great to see O’Brien’s perseverance pay off with Notts. He’s a true professional and a credit to the club. Despite the club’s relegation to the National League, he's remained with the club and played under several good managers who wanted to keep him on board. His hard work and determination paid off when the club was finally promoted back to the Football League. O’Brien’s journey with us shows he's a genuine character and it’s fantastic to see him succeed with the club.
