  1. Luke Williams is right, the travelling fans to the MK Dons game can make a big impact. I sound like a broken record, but it’s the liveliest I have known Notts fans for years. Their energy and enthusiasm are impressive, and I am looking forward to seeing how the club does against them on Saturday. The support from the fans can really boost the morale of the players and give them that extra push to perform at their best.
  2. When you have a player like Macaulay Langstaff, it’s an easier decision for the manager. When you see how he performs and gives his all, then in his interview, he speaks of others before his own performance. It’s difficult not to think how lucky we are to have such a striker at the club. He’s been a massive part of taking Notts from being a playoff contender in the National League to promotion and now top of the League Two table. Obviously, it’s down to the team too, but Langstaff firing us forward is a massive benefit. He’s such a threat to the opposition in any game, so it’s pleasing to see him work hard.
  3. Hello and welcome to PON @JC1966.
  4. It will be a tough test for both teams, but at least Graham Alexander is acknowledging how well we did last season and how Notts has started so far. It’s going to be a lively game. I think MK Dons might be the first team to try to maintain the ball like we do, so the battle for possession will be really interesting to see how it unfolds. I am sure that with Luke Williams, along with Aden Baldwin and Adam Chicksen having experience of what their ground is like, we can go into it a bit more prepared.
  5. Yet again, Langstaff has proven himself to be a vital asset to our team. His relentless drive, knack for scoring crucial goals and unparalleled tenacity make him the fulcrum of the squad. His warrior spirit has undoubtedly propelled us to the top. Keep shining, Langstaff!
  6. He should do okay with Wolves. I don’t really care about him, but it is an interesting move. He seems to come up smelling of roses.
  7. Yes, it’s good to see the attendances so far this season, and I would also echo that I hope it continues. It makes a difference on match days; it’s not too busy but about the right balance for our match days.
  8. I have always enjoyed seeing the Faces of PON. It’s a fantastic fan gallery, and I appreciate the effort that goes into everything at the Pride of Nottingham. @Chris, these are superb. I am delighted that you are back taking pictures. You provide a great service to the fans, so keep up the good work.
  9. It’s an oldie by today’s standards, but a classic. Right now, this is how Notts makes me feel.
  10. Notts looked like they had everything required to get the result, keeping Accrington silent until we actually took the lead. They started pressing and I thought Notts just relaxed when they should have gone for a second. It made the first 45 minutes quite nervous as they did grow into the game very well. In the second half, we re-took control of the game and controlled it well. Despite Accrington having chances, they weren’t that well taken and the way we played it always looked likely that Macaulay Langstaff would get a goal. Sam Austin could have had a decent effort on goal if he had remained on the same wavelength as Jodi Jones. I am incredibly proud of the win, it’s good to be top of League Two. There’s a long way to go, but we are finding form and growing with confidence.
  11. Superb win for Notts today, I thought we dug deep when they levelled the game and showed some excellent quality to get back into the game. The second half was very lively, but Notts did enough to get the win which was fully deserved. I am incredibly proud of the way the team played.
  12. Luke Williams is just a brilliant talker; whatever he says, it just makes me take note, and that’s a powerful thing for Notts. It’s good to see him speaking so openly as he always does. I am pleased with how we are doing; I thought we would get the performances where they needed to be, and this goes down to all the work involved: players, coaches and manager.
  13. Yes, I think so. I don’t think your point is about being negative, but more about dwelling on mistakes. I heard some daft comments, albeit acceptable ones, about Dan Crowley. I think if people can’t get over incidents, then it falls into this category. They are being too critical, and I would imagine it does impact the fun of just experiencing a good time. I hate when Foghorn Leghorns shout nonsense and judge everything as if they were either playing or the manager. I would much rather sit in a quiet area without any atmosphere. Everyone from time to time will be critical to a degree; I think it’s about perspective and balance. If Notts are doing well, the players put in their duties and give 100%, then it’s not the worst thing to let things go.
  14. It very well might be a tough game and one that may be decided by a single goal, but if Notts plays the pretty attacking football we have seen lately, then I see no reason why Notts couldn’t score a few and impress. However, this does depend on how we cope with and handle them as a threat. I do think it’s a game that will showcase where we are right now, something to reflect on further once we are 10 games into the season. I would like to see Macaulay Langstaff score. I think Luke Williams is trying to take the pressure and criticism off him for not scoring by saying he brings more to the team. It’s true; he’s not just a goal scorer.
  15. Hello, @Terri. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham. Its good to have you wish us.

  17. The exciting aspect for me right now is to gain promotion from League Two, seeing how the performances have improved and how the squad is working hard to put points on the table. Gaining promotion this season would be a huge success for Notts, but I am mindful, as others have said, that it will take time to get any higher. I don’t think it’s pressure that the club needs right now, but it’s fair of Luke Williams to make the comparison. He knows that it’s possible but is focused on the present and not the future.
  18. It is admirable that Connell Rawlinson has publicly praised Luke Williams. Rawlinson’s comments about pushing players to their limits in order to help them reach their true potential are insightful and show a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed in football. It is important to note that there is no age limit to this process, and it is heartening to see such comments being made. Rawlinson’s timing was impeccable when he scored the goal, and the eruption of the crowd and the ensuing celebration were truly gratifying to witness. It is moments like these that make football such a beloved sport.
  19. Brilliant artwork, very stunning and detailed.
  20. Mike Dean is aware that he has made a mistake, and now he’s simply trying to deflect the guilt and responsibility. I agree that he has not accepted responsibility for his actions, as if he had, his apology would not have been so defensive in nature. He owes Chelsea Football Club and their fans the biggest apology, and now I hope he stops trying to do the media rounds and complaining about people trying to make a story out of it. Well, it seems that this is exactly what he wants.
  21. Macaulay Langstaff's determination to force a mistake even with one less player is commendable. It's a great example of the team's spirit.
  22. Luke Williams seems to be making a positive impact on the players. It's great to see them elevating their performance under his guidance. Ryan Harley's one-on-one work must be invaluable as well.
  23. Tranmere Rovers have a very good team. Eventually, they will come together, and I just hope it won’t be against Notts today.
  24. Having watched the team bounce back from the initial setback at Sutton United, it’s evident that we have a squad that's resilient and determined to excel. The unbeaten run offers a lot of positivity and excitement ahead of this weekend’s match. The prospect of Langstaff building on his scoring form is an added boost that could prove crucial against Tranmere. They may have stumbled out of the blocks with a raft of a defeat, but no side should ever be taken lightly. A positive result here would not only cement our good form but also continue to build confidence within the squad. Let's hope our boys seize this opportunity!
  25. Football isn't just about having skilled players; it's about having versatile players who can adapt to the changing styles of play. Brindley is living proof of that. Transitioning to League Two style and fitting into the back three formation, he truly exemplifies versatility. His willingness to ensure the team’s win, regardless of his position, shows exceptional sportsmanship.
