  1. Watching this game felt like riding a roller coaster with its ups and downs. However, it's admirable how the players clung on and didn't give up. Williams should be praised for instilling that resilience in the team. Sure, the drama does get to your nerves, and it'll be great to see more composed performances in the future. I can't be harsh to Connell and well done to Brindley for his excellent game.
  2. It's heartening to witness Jones' enthusiasm and optimism about Notts County's prospects. His assurance about more to come from him for the fans is something we all look forward to. His confidence in himself is contagious and bodes well for the team's future performances. Even with his impressive performance, he remains humble and hungry for more, which is an excellent trait for any sportsperson. Concerning the game, his recognition of the fans' support shows how much he values their contribution. It's wonderful to hear an athlete appreciate their fans so openly, acknowledging their role in the win. His positive outlook, both in terms of personal performance and team outlook, is a breath of fresh air.
  3. It’s good to hear that things are coming back. PON deserves a good season.
  4. He wasn’t around for long. I don’t remember if he joined for the season or on loan, but he did okay. We have had better and far worse players, but it’s a name I think is easy to forget.
  5. Hull City 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday Ipswich Town 1-2 Stoke City Leyton Orient 0-0 Portsmouth Peterborough United 0-2 Charlton Athletic Harrogate Town 1-0 Forest Green Rovers Swindon Town 1-1 Crewe Alexandra Dagenham & Redbridge 3-1 Southend United Joker York City 2-2 Kidderminster Harriers
  6. Kristian Dennis is the obvious name that I can add to this.
  7. He will do well with a good League Two team. If Wrexham can get the best out of him, it would be a good move on paper. I don’t rate him much higher, but he’s not a bad player.
  8. The first match is usually a bit static for newly promoted teams, unless they overcome their nerves and really go for the win. I can’t see Notts winning by a large margin; I think it will be close and that Sutton United will be defensively resilient. My prediction is a narrow 1-0 win, with Macaulay Langstaff scoring the only goal of the game. It wouldn’t surprise me if either team ends up having a goal disallowed. Despite my low score prediction, I think both teams will play quite well.
  9. I think Luke Williams has hit the nail on the head when he talks about other teams reverting to a deep block even when it wasn’t their initial game plan. This shows that our intensity and performance can force a team to change their tactics on the spot. What we need now is to find a way to break down that deep block efficiently.
  10. Blackburn Rovers 1-3 West Bromwich Albion Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Huddersfield Town Carlisle United 2-0 Fleetwood Town Shrewsbury Town 1-0 Cheltenham Town Morecambe 0-0 Walsall Tranmere Rovers 2-0 Barrow Aldershot 0-3 Oxford City Joker Gateshead 0-1 Boreham Wood
  11. I'll start off with an easy one, Will Randall.
  12. I’m eager to see this season’s preview and hear Charlie Slater’s thoughts on our prospects.
  13. There are valuable lessons to be learned from playing games like the one we just played. Winning all the friendlies 2-0 or 5-0 won’t reveal as much. Starting against a smaller club allows the team to ease back into playing, while the bigger games show where the squad stands and what needs improvement. Without being tested, there can be no learning or progress. Notts have already shown promising signs in pre-season, particularly with how well David McGoldrick has integrated.
  14. Welcome to PON, so hello @David Shipston and I hope you join in with us.
  15. Luke gave a standard “good” interview. It’s good that he knows what to address and isn’t glossing over mistakes. However, I don’t think the situation is as bad as to cause worry. In my opinion, we will be strong come the halfway point of the season.
  16. Without knowing the facts about the jet’s eco-friendliness, I wouldn’t be quick to judge. However, it seems as though the voice of reason has prevailed. I don’t understand why some of our fans on social media are so obsessed with Wrexham.
  17. It’s a very good signing for Stockport County. They are recruiting just as well as us. It’s going to be interesting to see which teams see the payoff from their transfers. There are at least 8 teams that could prove to be dominant in this division, so League Two will be interesting to watch, as will seeing how Jayden Richardson performs.
  18. I think having someone who can play on the left and right of the wingback position would be a good signing. I know his name as I have heard it mentioned before, but I don’t know much about his performances or ability. From what I’ve seen of where he’s played, he looks like he would be a good signing.
  19. You want to make sure they posted them to the right person. Nothing would surprise me with some of the staff at Notts. If you ordered them on Thursday and the shirts don’t arrive by tomorrow, I would call them myself. Being busy isn’t an excuse for poor customer service, but it might be an issue with the delivery company.
  20. It must have been quite serious at the time if they suspected he had fractured a bone. It is good news that this isn’t the case, and hopefully, he will make a speedy recovery. I wish Cal Roberts all the best.
  21. It’s a great deal for fans overseas; the coverage and quality are good too. One of the positive things of the COVID period was the ability to still see streamed games.
  22. Despite the fact that our team seemed to have some trouble fully comprehending the game, there were undoubtedly some moments where we shone. It is our hope that by reflecting on our mistakes and working to improve upon them, we will emerge as a stronger and more cohesive unit when the league begins.
  23. The club is in a very different state compared to when we were relegated. We have much more depth, and anything below mid-table would be what I would consider underachieving. I’m not worried that we’ll be in a relegation fight. The article is a good read and reflects well on Notts.
  24. Just imagine if either Ian Burchnall or Steve Cooper were pulled over for speeding; neither would pass as not being drunk. ???????? The roadside test would be even funnier to watch. I don’t believe Notts received any compensation for his departure; I believe we gave him permission to leave.
  25. I’m interested in the prediction league. I haven’t played for some time, but I will commit to each round.
