  1. When he originally signed, it gave hope that we could survive. I know some fans wanted to get rid of everything to do with that squad and some feel Neal Ardley could have done better. I think from the moment Jim O’Brien put on his first Notts shirt, he didn’t stop fighting for us. He’s a good player and I hope he retires playing at Meadow Lane. It’s got to be on his terms. Modern football doesn’t have much loyalty to the players, but we ask it from them.
  2. Yes, very much so. When did we last have four seasons without any major disasters? The fact that we have had three managers during those years, with only one being Notts’ decision. I think it’s very much like a daydream. The recruitment is like a nice tasty dessert you see in a fancy restaurant; you know it will be good and it’s worth every penny.
  3. Great news! I like that he’s agreed to a new deal as he could have easily been off. It leaves Aaron Nemane in question now. Will he commit or leave?
  4. I have followed some members, the regular faces and people who are interesting. I may follow a few more myself. If this were Twitter, nobody would notice me.
  5. Go on Jodi! Run riot against the Three Lions and show Oxford United what they have lost out on while giving us a pleasing viewing experience to get over the departure of Ruben. Good luck!
  6. This is a brilliant story of a fan’s background and history of supporting Notts. He’s right, some fans are fickle, but many are superb and have backed this club all the way. Some just like to moan a bit too much; it’s more about their character. Great story.
  7. This article has many noteworthy points and Jim provides a polished and focused interview. I must say that when he eventually retires, I will miss seeing his name on the team sheet. On the other hand, I am excited to see O’Brien and Randall back in a Notts team again.
  8. I am very happy that Jim has signed a new one-year deal; it sounds about right. He can reflect on how he feels and his body at the end of the next campaign. For now, he is a useful squad member.
  9. Farewell Ruben. You have given us the best three years of your playing career and scored many wonderful goals. Without touching upon your other contributions, all the best with moving on.
  10. Oxford United fans will be hanging on our every word, so we should be mindful not to praise Ruben too much. Leave them guessing! He’s a good player; they’ve done well to snap him up and get him to commit. I did think he would go to a bigger club - no disrespect to Oxford, but League One is about right for them.
  11. In my opinion, it all depends on his role and the number of games he played. He performed well for Derby in a team that was pretty much forced together. I have decided to see the bigger picture and feel that if he can do well in that situation, his experience can help us in ours. It's important to consider the context in which he was playing and the challenges he faced. Despite the difficulties, he was able to perform at a high level and contribute to the team's success. This shows his resilience and adaptability, qualities that can be valuable in any situation.
  12. I remember watching the games against Coventry and thinking how great it would be to have a young player like Jodi Jones in our squad. He played with such flair and ambition and was a menace on the ball. His goals were skillfully crafted and I think our players hated playing against him. He was a joy to watch. Jodi Jones looked like he instantly fitted in with Notts. Sometimes you get players who come and don’t give their all, but I think he took his chance. I don’t know if he signed for Notts thinking this is where he could push on with his career or if he just saw it as a good chance to attract interest once his deal expired. Regardless, I am glad he signed for us and nobody else. He’s a big coup and will be a massive player for Notts in League Two. He is a talented player and I’m excited to see him play more for Notts County. He has already shown that he can make an impact on games with his pace and skill on the ball. He seems to have settled into the team well and I think he will only get better as he gets more game time.
  13. I am truly impressed by your achievements so far and I have high hopes for the future. You have successfully brought us back to the Football League and I believe you have the potential to take us even further. I am confident that with your leadership and the resources available, Notts County can once again become a great club. Keep up the good work!
  14. Jodi has been a real difference-maker for us this season. I’m sure he’ll continue to impress for Malta.
  15. Interesting list of potential players, Jack Armer if tempted away from Carlisle would be a solid signing. I do agree that having a CB that can cover for Adam Chicksen would help the squad overall. Some of the majority of the players I don’t know much about.
  16. I have nothing but admiration and gratitude for everyone who contributes to the site, from the volunteer team members and writers, to @Chris who works tirelessly and passionately to make the site the best it can be. He deserves more recognition and appreciation from most fans, who may not realise how much effort and dedication he puts into the site.
  17. Fantastic achievement for Tiernan Brooks to be called up to the Ireland U21 squad!
  18. No, I doubt I will check much if at all. I will be solely focusing on the Football League from here on.
  19. Kwame Thomas never looked good and should not have made many appearances. His pace got him on the pitch but he showed no signs of quality on goal.
  20. @Chris did an amazing job with this interview. @Fan of Big Tone’s story is so touching and it was captured perfectly in this article. The way he describes his experiences and memories is so vivid and it really brings the reader into his world. Well done, to you both!
  21. Welcome to the club, Will! You’re joining a great team with a great history and a great fanbase. I’m looking forward to seeing you in action at Meadow Lane. You have my full support!
  22. Forest Green Rovers’ promotion to League One followed by a single-season stay is a valuable lesson for us. It’s crucial to establish ourselves and build on our success to ensure sustained progress. Thank you, Simon Clark, for highlighting the resilience and spirit shown by these teams in their playoff journeys. It’s motivating to see their determination pay off, and it gives us hope for our own club.
  23. I remember about having read this story and it sounding like there wasn't much to the claims against Paddy McCourt, I haven't kept up with the story but express that if he did it, he's let many people down and deserves to jailed.
  24. Macaulay Langstaff has deserved every bit of success and accolades. His achievements last season is not only historic but poetry in motion has witnessed his success.
  25. This is fantastic news for everyone involved with Notts County. Sam Slocombe is a class act and a vital part of our team. He’s not only a superb keeper, but also a great character and a role model for the youngsters. He’s shown his commitment to the club by signing a new deal and I’m over the moon that he’s staying with us.
