  1. I think Jim O’Brien brings many benefits to the squad; he’s a great guy to help with morale and his fiery passion is enough to spark others’ lights when playing. Even though it’s one deal, it feels great to have him renew. He’s shared a great journey with us and it’s great that he persisted playing. Seeing him carry Aden Baldwin off the pitch was a great moment, but so were his expressions and joy.
  2. @super_ram is the glue of PON; I look forward to seeing what he says and he looks after us all like we have known each other for years. I know Lewis and Liam feel the same; Liam especially feels like Super is family because he often says it when we are together. It’s nice that Super is involved; I think the banter between him and others is great; I have even started joining in. Thanks for all you do, Super. I don’t think you realise just how much you are part of the fixtures and fittings on PON.
  3. Thursday, I went out with a group of friends for a few drinks and to catch up. Saturday and Sunday, I spent out enjoying the sun. I had a walk near to the Embankment and went with a female friend.
  4. I’m not watching but am checking the live feeds for information; I have to admit, I am inclined to agree with @theskipper, but I do have some interest. I can watch when it’s exciting, but 90% of the time it’s dragged out. I prefer Twenty20.
  5. It feels like we lose far less now than we would normally do. It says a lot about our dressing room, club and morale in general. Although I wished Ruben had agreed to stay, I am pleased that we have Kyle Cameron on board along with Jodi Jones, Connell Rawlinson and Jim O’Brien. We just need Aaron Nemane to stay; roll on the Football League!
  6. Kyle Cameron has improved Notts County in many ways; it’s fantastic news to see that he has extended his stay by signing a two-year deal. I thought we might offer him three years, but it seems that the standard these days is two. I really like Kyle as a player; I think he’s a positive addition to the squad and how he runs out to the KOP clapping his hands, usually beside Aden Baldwin; I think it’s just class.
  7. During the years I have supported Notts, we have had quite a few international players: Andre Boucaud, Jonathan Forte… I had more in mind until I started writing, but I don’t remember any of them getting the chance to play against England. It’s a massive game for Jodi; one he should be very excited about and I don’t think he will go into the game all star-struck. I think he will want to prove a point; I hope he manages to impress.
  8. This is brilliant; it was interesting to learn about Tony’s backstory and his favourite moments. I wasn’t here for the Warnock era, but I know he’s a legend! Sign him up, Chris..
  9. Yes, I still can’t believe we aren’t dealing with clueless owners who think we are there to be taken for granted. It’s weird to have two owners who very rarely say anything; not a complaint. It’s refreshing because it stops the doom and gloom merchants from piping up.
  10. The club feels like it’s on a natural progression, with each signing giving us more quality and depth. There’s still room for us to improve ahead of this season, which I feel optimistic about. I think Notts will be at the right end of the table; we just need to ensure that if we lose someone like we have with Ruben Rodrigues, that we can replace him. Replacing players is the way forward, yet retaining players for long periods is also a blessing. Focus on this season; go from there. There’s no reason why we couldn’t be playing Championship football in the near future.
  11. The CEO just helps with the daily running of the club; the chairman(s) are actively involved but the CEO reduces their workload. The Reedtz brothers will find someone they like, who is hardworking and will lead the club by example.
  12. At the same time the gaffer was at Skeg, I was down in Cornwall for a week and a half. I went to various parts; I didn’t realise how small of an area it was with all the open space and beaches. I was expecting it to be oldie newie but it’s very much unspoiled. The bars near the seafront gave some nice views. It’s one of the better UK holidays I have had.
  13. I think GP would prefer to keep you on the straight and narrow, rather than me. I have an innocent charm about me and I can imagine you being scolded right now. So, those sticks will definitely be yours, but not in the way you said. Behave yourself and you’ll be fine. Wait, did Granny say to dock a point?
  14. This is an interesting one. The club does need a defender, but is it a wing-back or centre-back? I assume it’s a left wing-back. He doesn’t give me the impression that he’s someone expected to start regularly but will improve in his duties over time. Perhaps he’s an understudy to Adam Chicksen. Does anyone know more?
  15. Everyone, we have a new member @rhodship66. Welcome to the Pride of Nottingham, do you support Notts?
  16. You got, quit complaining or I'll borrow some heavily sticks to whack you good and proper @super_ram.
  17. David McGoldrick is going to become a legend here at the club; he’s already proving himself to be a great guy. The club’s introduction of him walking with the background music, very FIFA or PES-esque, was really good. I think some players at his age may slow down, but their experience can’t be taught. He did well with Derby; I see no reason why he won’t be a success with us.
  18. I didn’t see your comment earlier, but the answer is Jim O’Brien. I used my words against you all for once. @super_ram wins this round.
  19. As Jim says, now with David McGoldrick, we have all the experience needed. Connell Rawlinson worked hard, as did Jim. I do agree that it was probably his best season despite some fans having opinions that I won’t repeat. I don’t think it was a fair reflection, but Jim tirelessly puts effort into the pitch and he’s right; we have the quality needed to go forward.
  20. You have all brought this on yourselves by being too good at guessing! Yes, this is more obvious than you would think. I have been very crafty with the choices of my words; it’s a nice feeling to see it’s misleading you all. Ha! No, it isn’t Jorge Grant. I’ll be nice and add that it’s not Callum McGregor either, which I am surprised hasn’t been mentioned already, but as you are aware it couldn't be because he didn't play for Shrewsbury Town. So, who did?
  21. When I first come onto PON, I instantly check my notifications, but unless I am busy, I will head to try to post to a couple of discussions. I am quite active; I enjoy reading the articles written and think the fan features are the best out there for Notts fans. I would say I average 5-15 posts per day, but it all depends on my time. I read topics; as a mod, I take it seriously to make sure I have covered enough of the posts. If I choose not to reply, it’s either because I can’t add anything of value or because I intend to think about it, to which I go back.
  22. I am being very sneaky here, but you are all incorrect. Good guesses though! Dave Kevan is a very smart out-of-the-box guess. Tony fell for my trap, but he could be onto something. Yes.
  23. A clue would be to look at our pre-season games; he’s played for one of those. He is known for being a leader, brave and full of emotion. It’s not Paddy McCourt.
  24. Jim is a sensible renewal, one I am pleased to see confirmed. I think he offers us more than some fans realise, and it’s easy to write players off. Yet I have seen some comments quite disrespectful on social media and wonder why fans supported Michael Doyle when he left the first chance he had? Jim has been nothing but loyal; he deserves this deal and respect.
  25. I wanted Charlie to say halfway into the story that his kid woke up and that he would have to continue it later. Save me the job. It does come across well for David, though I have my doubts about the story itself.
