Marvellous read, points and sentiments I fully agree with. Jodi Jones came across well in his interview and he’s here for the right reasons. His contract signing is a nice thing to wrap up. It shows the squad that we have committed players, so hopefully any others waiting in the wings, such as Dan Crowley, may follow with this news. Good players always want to be a part of a good squad, and it’s obvious if Notts plays their cards right, the club could go somewhere. I like that Jodi is focused on promotion and scoring more goals. His attitude towards assisting his teammates is clear.

Well done to the lads for another fantastic performance! Conditions weren’t the best, but the team’s character shone through. Maynard's adjustments were key to turning the game around. Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley were standout performers, but let's not forget the solid defensive work from Platt and others. Four-in-a-row and top of the table says it all. Looking forward to seeing how we fare against Gillingham. Meadow Lane’s going to be buzzing with this form.

Jodi's ambition and commitment to Notts County are truly commendable. It's refreshing to see a player so dedicated to the club's success and willing to adapt his game for the team's benefit. His focus on scoring more goals while setting up his teammates will be crucial as we aim for promotion. The squad indeed seems stronger with new quality additions, and if we can maintain our consistency, there’s no limit to what we can achieve this season. Jodi's effort to stay focused amidst contract negotiations shows his professionalism, and it's this kind of mentality that can inspire the whole team. Looking forward to what lies ahead!

Stuart Maynard seems to have a solid strategy for the match against Bromley. His understanding of their physical style and counter-attacking prowess is crucial. The return of Alassana Jatta and the commitment of Jodi Jones are huge boosts for the team. Jones has shown incredible resilience and dedication, making his new long-term contract a huge positive for everyone associated with the club. Maynard’s focus on unity and hard work is clearly paying off, and it’s exciting to see where this season will take us. The away support will be massive, as always. Here’s hoping for a strong performance and a great result!

I have taken note of what Jodi Jones said in his post-match interview, and I believe his hard work will pay off. The fact that he wants to score more goals will only benefit Notts, but he doesn’t need to reduce his assists. He has both within his ability. Perhaps at times, he just needs to be a bit more selfish instead of always thinking about his teammates. He loves to assist and score goals, so I welcome him to take more chances.
-
He seems like a very good goalkeeper. I don't blame him for any of the goals you've conceded. It's a team effort. I think he'll keep his starting spot easily. We have two good backup goalkeepers just in case. Alex Bass looks determined to keep his place. Hopefully, no one gets injured during the season. If he doesn't, I don't see him being dropped. Maybe for cup games?
-
I'm not worried about Jevani Brown. He's on loan, and if he's not good or causes problems, we can send him back to Bristol Rovers. I'm more impressed with George Abbott. He seems like a talented young player. He's quiet and reserved. It was nice to see him celebrate with the fans after the Swindon win. As for Maynard, if his team keeps winning games, he'll win over more fans.

The upcoming minute’s applause for Sven-Göran Eriksson is an incredibly moving gesture from Notts. His talent and vision left a lasting impact on the club's history, creating a legacy that goes beyond his brief tenure. Fans and players alike were influenced by his leadership and commitment, and his decision to waive his payoff demonstrated a level of integrity rarely seen in football. As we gather to honour his memory, it’s clear that Eriksson’s legacy will continue to inspire future generations at Meadow Lane.

This match truly showcased the grit and determination that Notts County has developed. Going behind early could have easily shaken the squad, but they rallied magnificently. McGoldrick was in phenomenal form, especially with that second goal which was a moment of sheer brilliance. Swindon put up a tough fight, especially in the second half, but our defence was equal to the task, with Matty Platt leading from the back. Alex Bass’s crucial saves ensured we held onto the lead. It’s wins like these that make a difference in a promotion push. The team’s resilience and quality are clear for all to see. Here’s to more results like this one.
-
It’s good news that the club has turned down bids; we can assume the one from MK Dons for Dan Crowley has worried our supporters. I wasn’t aware of any other bids, so who was interested in Jodi Jones? I believe we can be quietly confident that once the transfer window closes, Notts will be able to concentrate on getting the results we need to bring some optimism. If we have the funds, let’s sort out any out-of-contract players at the end of the season as soon as possible.

Tom Keetley’s legacy at Notts County is undeniable. It’s fascinating to think about how different the game was back then, yet Keetley’s achievements still resonate with football fans today. However, what’s equally important is the story of his life after football. The financial struggles and health issues he faced remind us that the life of a footballer isn’t always as glamorous as it seems. Keetley’s story is a powerful reminder of the importance of supporting players both during and after their careers.

Maynard's concerns regarding the rough play on Jodi Jones are valid. It’s frustrating to watch refs allow excessive physicality that could result in injury. We all love a bit of contact in the game, but not to the extent where players' careers are at risk. The balance between letting the game flow and protecting players is crucial. Maynard’s comments highlight an issue that needs addressing immediately. If referees don't step up their game, we could see more top players sidelined with injuries, which would be detrimental not just for Notts but for the league as a whole.

Welcome Lucas Ness! Signing a promising player from Charlton Athletic is a move we should all be excited about. His solid performances and being recognised as Player of the Month multiple times speaks volumes about his talent. It's impressive how the management has addressed his injury recovery, ensuring he gets sufficient time to get match-fit.
With Matty Platt, Jacob Bedeau, and Lewis Macari already holding fort, Ness’s addition makes our defence incredible. His versatility in playing anywhere across the back three is a valuable asset. Hats off to the board and Richard Montague for such a strategic and long-term focused signing.
-
It’s fantastic to see a player like McGoldrick embracing his role at Notts. His wealth of experience, having played over 600 games, is something to be admired and respected. While it must be tough not being in the starting eleven regularly, his determination and readiness to seize any opportunity that comes his way are commendable. It’s even more impressive how he balances this with mentoring the younger players in the squad, helping to guide their development. Players like him are an asset to any team, not just for their skills on the pitch but for their leadership off it.
-
I like how Conor Grant has come in and made an immediate impact. Scoring when new is never easy, and it shows he's got the right mentality. His comments about the pitch and excitement for the first home game really resonate with me. It's clear he understands the importance of connecting with the fans and taking pride in the club's facilities. His experience at other clubs, including a stint at a higher division, will only benefit Notts. I'm looking forward to seeing how he develops throughout the season and helps in our pursuit of promotion. His positive attitude towards pressure is refreshing and necessary for the challenges ahead.

It’s tough to see such a promising start turn into a heart-breaking defeat. The first half performance was near perfect, and it felt like we had Shrewsbury on the ropes. Stuart Maynard’s comments on taking responsibility for Curtis Edwards’ mistake are refreshing. It shows a great deal of leadership. Defensive lapses in the second half were a stark contrast to the fluid play in the first. It's a harsh reminder that football games can change in an instant. Penalty shoot-outs are always down to luck, and unfortunately, it didn’t go our way this time.
-
It’s fantastic to see Conor Grant so eager to get started at Notts. His reflections on the challenges he faced at MK Dons show his maturity and readiness to learn from past experiences. What excites me most is how he talks about the club’s ambition and his fit within the team's style of play. I think this could be a turning point in his career, and with the support of the fans and coaching staff, he could really shine this season. Here’s hoping he makes a big impact on the pitch!
-
I thought we were the better team out there today, despite not scoring. The midfield was excellent, keeping Tranmere on the back foot for most of the match. It’s just a shame we couldn’t convert our chances. Bass was impressive in his debut, looks like a solid addition to the squad. There’s room for improvement, especially in the attacking third, but if we continue to control games like this, the wins will come. The second half was a masterclass in keeping possession. We just need that cutting edge to turn a good performance into a great result.
-
Interesting insights from Maynard ahead of the Tranmere game. The pre-season defensive improvements are promising, especially the record after the 60-minute mark. The new signings filling critical positions in defence should significantly improve our stability at the back. Cedwyn Scott being handed the number nine shirt is exciting; he could add a lot of firepower if he stays healthy. Maynard’s meticulous approach, including scouting Tranmere and nearly finalising the starting eleven, suggests the team is well-prepared.

Alex Bass being signed by Notts County is quite the statement! The way he spoke about the club's atmosphere and potential has got me pumped for the new season. His experience at AFC Wimbledon will be essential, and it's great to see a player who's not just talented but also truly committed to his team's success.
His calm demeanour as a goalkeeper, especially in crucial moments, will undoubtedly help the team. Really looking forward to his impact on the pitch!

What impresses me the most about Maynard is his adaptability. Shifting from a secure job and succeeding at Wealdstone under difficult circumstances shows real guts and determination. That character is infectious, and I believe he has the potential to inspire our players to punch above their weight. It's been a while since we've had a manager who not only respects the club's values but also aligns perfectly with our current needs on and off the pitch.
"No One Can Handle Jones and Crowley at Their Best" – Mark Stallard on Notts County's Dynamic Duo
in News
Jodi Jones and Dan Crowley are the heart and soul of this Notts County squad. Their determination and skill were evident as they spearheaded the comeback against Bromley. Jones’ quick feet and sharp instincts in front of goal make him a constant menace for defenders. Crowley's intelligent play and work rate provide a solid foundation for our attacks. Stallard's comments about their abilities are spot on. These two are the kind of players who can change the outcome of a match in an instant. It’s thrilling to have such talents in our team. Let’s hope they continue to inspire and lead us to more victories this season.
