  1. It’s a start the team can build on. Quite frustrating that we couldn’t get a win, but it wasn’t through a lack of effort or trying. Tranmere just made it hard, but Bass was excellent in goal.
  2. Quite frustrating, but the team showed promise. Bass was brilliant in goal.
  3. I never rated him highly. I thought he was decent enough, but he wasn’t the quickest and always seemed to want the ball delivered straight to him. People criticised Yoann Arquin for this reason, but Balint Bajner was far more lackadaisical.
  4. The Nest is fantastic. It’s going to be a significant source of revenue for Notts. I believe it can only bring good things.
  5. Kane Hemmings would have certainly benefited from being in a squad like ours now. I have no doubt that he would have been clinical. He’s such a strong player at this level, Crewe should be thrilled with the signing.
  6. Notts have the upper hand, as others have pointed out, bids don’t mean much. If the club knows there’s interest, they can safeguard their asset by fostering competition to sell to the highest bidder. That being said, I’m not entirely convinced that Millwall would splurge such a large sum on a single player. The reported amount might not be entirely accurate, who can say?
  7. It’s heartening to see the players back. They’ve hopefully had a restful break and are ready for the new season.
  8. It looks splendid, and I have no objections. With all the new shiny things, one might wonder if we’re bracing for some unpleasant news. But no, I don’t believe so.
  9. Thrilled about Alex Bass signing! His stellar performance and leadership at AFC Wimbledon speak volumes. With Platt and Bedeau, our defence is solid. Here’s to a season of strong defence and triumphs with Bass!
  10. I can’t contain my excitement about Alex Bass joining us. Having watched him play for AFC Wimbledon, I can say we’re getting a top-notch goalkeeper. His clean sheet record alone is incredibly impressive, but it’s his leadership at the back that will make a huge difference. With Platt and Bedeau also joining, our defence is shaping up nicely. I’ve got high hopes for the upcoming season with Bass as our last line of defence. Here’s to fewer defensive struggles and more victories!
  11. Transitioning into the full-time scene has its challenges, but Maynard's approach and the teams’ verve he’s fostering bodes well for us. What struck me most about his words was the attention to both attack and a solid defence. It's a holistic brand of football we’re looking at. Teams won’t know what hit them!
  12. Fantastic to hear about Jaden Warner joining us on loan. Reading through his credentials, I am particularly impressed by his experience in the Canaries’ academy, which speaks volumes about his grounding in the sport. Not to mention those starts in the Sky Bet Championship! Having a player who is comfortable with the ball and can contribute to the defence as well as the build-up play is quite a catch for us. It’s clear the club is making strategic decisions to strengthen the squad, and with Warner standing at 6 foot 4 inch plus his exceptional speed, I’ve got a good feeling he’s going to fit in just fine. The backline sure is looking tougher by the day!
  13. Yes, I spotted this during a programme exploring the first two Home Alone films on Sky Max HD. It’s one of the superior Christmas tunes, so thankfully it’s not any of this trendy modern music.
  14. The sad part is, our defence has been poorer on many occasions this season. Hats off to Harrogate for their impressive play.
  15. I’m rather pleased with the team selection, especially with the return of Kyle Cameron and David McGoldrick. My only worry is our defence, which seems a bit weak. We don’t have many attacking options if we need fresh ideas or if an offensive player gets weary. However, this could give James Sanderson another chance.
  16. Welcome @StanfordPie, hello! ???????? Keep commenting when you can.
  17. Hello, @Robbie__64, Welcome to PoN. I hope you find the site and community to be good fun.
  18. Isn't it just wonderful to see a player's journey from non-league to League Two? Langstaff shows us that ambition and determination are the key attributes of any successful footballer... what a year 2023 has been for him and Notts County!
  19. Learning from seasoned professionals like David McGoldrick – brilliant! Fantastic for squad growth.
  20. This interview shows the value of reflection in any team's journey. Cameron's awareness of our season's unique challenges and his determination to address them head-on is commendable. Ready for the Walsall game.
  21. It’s very satisfying to see O’Brien finally score a goal. His remark about it shows his determination, such admirable character!
  22. The team's journey up until this point in the FA Cup has been nothing short of inspirational. Immensely proud of how far we've come. Tonight, we lock horns with Shrewsbury, and I truly believe we have what it takes to secure a win. Keep the momentum going, Notts!
  23. It was a silly goal to concede, amusing but I agree that the officials should have awarded a foul. They could have even booked the Barnsley player. All goalkeepers take their time once the ball is in play. Many also do the routine of rolling the ball out and then picking it up again. There’s no rule against it, it’s just clever time-wasting, but in this case, it got a bit ridiculous.
  24. Well done to both of you, @Piethagoram and @super_ram. You both make significant contributions to the site and it’s well-deserved.
