  1. I'm all for Notts being back in a proper stripe! I loved the pinstripe of last season as well, but there's something iconic about the black and white bars. It feels quintessentially 'County.' The new kit design honours our history while giving a fresh appeal for the upcoming season. Exciting times!
  2. Charlie was the โ€˜voiceโ€™ that we associated with Notts County. His warm and engaging commentary, coupled with his palpable affection for the club, truly endeared him to the fans. It's indeed a sad day knowing he wonโ€™t be there to narrate our victories and losses, but I am certain that wherever he goes next, heโ€™ll be a smashing success. Good luck, Charlie!
  3. He seems like an incredible representative of our club and someone who played with passion. Iโ€™m sure it takes a special individual to do all that he did for Notts. He may have done it all without hesitation, and some of it may have gone unnoticed, but stories like this change that. What I take away from reading about this alumnus is a sense of gratitude for those former players who go above and beyond to preserve our history. I hope we honour his legacy in the same way.
  4. I hope the squad continues to settle down so that we can start to form an idea of who will be starting in the game against Sutton. I think itโ€™s important to keep involving the youth players. It seems only two of them are being included now, but I would like to see more of Riley Reynolds. We have shown some good promise, and friendlies arenโ€™t all about winning. Theyโ€™re more about gauging how weโ€™re preparing for the new season.
  5. Itโ€™s clear that full focus during key stages is crucial. Williams owning up to his mistake and apologising shows good leadership. I initially thought Cameron had switched off, but this explains what happened.
  6. I wasnโ€™t sure how he would fit into the squad, having not seen him play much. However, he seems to have come back from rehab and training and just gone with it, which is great to see. He comes across as an uplifting character, which is always good to have in a squad. His ability is also showing, as he put in several classy crosses and was one of the better performers against Forest.
  7. I completely agree with @CliftonMagpie's comment. The switch to a 4-4-2 formation was a positive change, allowing for more control in midfield and better defensive composure. Itโ€™s important to be patient in the build-up, moving the ball around to create space and prevent giving the ball away needlessly. Notts looked superb when they went for it, and both teams showed a lot of respect for each other. Itโ€™s great to see that even when tensions rose, the game never boiled over. It was a well-played match by both sides.
  8. Forest didn't seem to have multi-million pound players. They could pass the ball around, but otherwise looked lacklustre. I don't think they really contributed much to the friendly, but Notts did a lot better. Connell Rawlinson performed well in defence. Jodi Jones looked on par with Forest, and it took three or four players to contain him. Matt Palmer played well, but he wasn't my Man of the Match. David McGoldrick coped well with the physical game that Forest brought, with all the pushing and shoving.
  9. I hope we are more determined not to make silly mistakes. If the players do, I wonโ€™t call or shout nonsense at them, but I would feel disappointed. There are teams who play in friendlies like this, where the result matters. For me, I donโ€™t care as much about winning, more about not embarrassing ourselves, which includes the fans. I would at least hope we find the net; otherwise, I just want to watch two Nottingham teams respecting each other. No doubt some armchair Forest fans will turn up trying it on.
  10. Southend looks awkwardly in deep trouble. I canโ€™t see how this will be resolved by the time they are next due in court. I hate to write this, but where are they getting the money from? Their chairman wonโ€™t be paying it.
  11. Solid summary of our Summer signings. With the newly added depth and quality, Notts County should be unstoppable this season. Can't wait for it to kick off!
  12. It's great to hear how the academy benefits from the promotion. The club has been working hard in this area, and from the Nuneaton game, it seems we have quite a few youngsters with a good level of potential. However, all that hard work fails if we can't secure them the proper experience needed. If loan moves are a question, we need to be less afraid to play them and try to give the more senior youth players actual development time. If Crewe and other clubs can bring in their own homegrown players, why are we stopping ourselves? It's a good read of the Academy manager's thoughts.
  13. These are the updates that should happen when the club has a few players out. I just love how Luke Williams is open and goes about detailing the answers to questions. Notts Countyโ€™s media team deserves credit for stepping things up; they have been doing great, and we are all very lucky to have everyone at the club now.
  14. You can see how the ideas and thinking process are being transferred onto the pitch. Notts are quite thoughtful and aware of how to attack in games, and getting Macaulay Langstaff, Cedwyn Scott, David McGoldrick, and Junior Morias all fired up for the new season can only be a good thing. I am keen to see how they all perform in tomorrowโ€™s friendly, except for Morias, who is carrying a knock.
  15. I would like Luke Williams to start with what he believes is his best XI, then make changes as the game goes on. For example, removing Matt Palmer at the 35-minute mark would allow us to see if the club now has a replacement for him. I doubt this will happen, but swapping players in and removing others would be a big reveal for Notts.
  16. This is such an emotional moment for our fans. Having seen Notts County's ups and downs of the last few years have been brutal. Our incredible supporters, players, and the Reedz brothers' leadership have all contributed to us finally achieving our goal of returning to the Football League! It's not just a promotion; it's a testament to our collective spirit and resilience.
  17. Williams seems to have a clear vision for developing our squad; reinforcing the team with new signings whilst having to deal with inevitable departures. David McGoldrick, with his "incredible quality", is a player that sounds promising for our future performances. At the same time, it's a bitter pill to swallow regarding Rodrigues' departure. But it's heartening to see Williams' balanced outlook, acknowledging the playerโ€™s personal growth and the opportunity Rodrigues has to express himself at a higher level. It reflects the healthy sportsmanship present in the club - accepting the constant change that happens within football.
  18. I'm over the moon with Nemane signing on for another two years. This is a player who's shown his worth this season. His contributions on both ends of the field and his knack for creating scoring opportunities have made him a vital part of the squad. His agility and speed also make matches dynamic and engaging to follow. Coupled with this, his positive presence in the locker room tells you how much of a team player he really is. His love for the game and the club is clearly visible in his performances, and it's brilliant that we've managed to secure his services for another two years. Looking forward to more thrilling performances from him.
  19. I like horror films myself. I donโ€™t like those like Annabelle, but I do like Scream and I think theyโ€™ve done well to revive the franchise. Iโ€™m keen to see how that plays out. I like things like the first two Ghostbusters - the womenโ€™s one and the newer one didnโ€™t feel like the originals and that makes me less interested. I might watch some of the films mentioned and give my thoughts on them as Iโ€™m sure I could see more that I havenโ€™t before.
  20. His family must have a lot of history within the club. I hope his father passed on accounts of what it was like when Notts played at Trent Bridge and then Meadow Lane when it became our new home. That would be something! It's good to read about various fans' backgrounds, as everyone has their own tale and I think this one shows that our fans do put the club first and foremost, which is an incredible gesture. Having found his partner while supporting Notts is another interesting thing. It stops the rivalry and chance that immediate family won't be fans. Notts has a rich history, so things like this are great to read about. I hope Nigel takes up @CliftonMagpie suggestion - he seems a good fit.
  21. I think Crowley's key attributes as a player, such as getting on the ball, creating chances, and dribbling at people, will be really valuable for Notts County. Those are the kind of skills that can break down defenses and create scoring opportunities. ????????
  22. I'm really excited about the signing of Aidan Stone as our new goalkeeper. The fact that he played a crucial role in Port Vale's promotion last season shows that he knows how to perform under pressure.
  23. I wish we had started the season at home, but I donโ€™t dwell on the fixtures. I think the players will look at what we have been handed and feel happy to get the new season underway. There are no real negative points, just a few difficult journeys on certain dates, but hopefully we will get through them without a problem. Picking up points is the game; tough or difficult starts on paper arenโ€™t something to worry too much about.
  24. Dan Crowleyโ€™s recent time at Morecambe demonstrated his capabilities as a player. He had a fantastic debut for them. Given Nottsโ€™ current upward trajectory, I have high expectations for him at the club. I believe he will continue to develop and thrive as a player.
  25. The teamโ€™s journey has shown real character in finding our way back to the Football League. Itโ€™s a real sign of the power of perseverance and determination.
