  1. Was never a great lover of it to be honest, I would only buy one because it was cheap back in the 70s. Think I was more bothered about Marathons becoming Snickers and Opal Fruits becoming Starbursts!
  2. Not worried about Oxford really as all they can offer is a division higher. Notts crowds are higher this season than theirs and I think he is definitely enjoying being here. I agree with @Chris, I can only see him leaving for a championship club or a very large league 1 club.
  3. Old style centre forward who made a nuisance of himself. Not the best goalscorer but I would definitely have him in my squad as an impact player as I think he is a better player now than the one we had on loan. I remember the game against Grimsby at home where he came on and caused havoc amongst their defence, which enabled us to come back from 2-0 down.
  4. Now now @Piethagoram, we both follow the source of this on Twitter so can be pretty certain it isn’t a rumour. He needs an Op and may be out for the rest of the season so can take it as a given that we won’t be seeing him again for a substantial period of time. I thought it looked bad at the time the way he pulled up, but did not expect this news as it is pretty devastating. I think we have around 11 league games until the January window opens, so would expect us to fall off the leaders a bit until then unless we change formation.
  5. Some Wrexham fans genuinely think they might get beat, because their record against us is terrible and they aren’t playing very well at all. Tozer is well out of form, O’Connell went off injured yesterday and Mullin is still finding his full fitness. They are winning games through talent and grit, not tactics at the moment and Elliott Lee is the key man for them. Keep him quiet and that’s half the battle, but I do worry about their long ball over the top game and the pressure we will be under from crosses.
  6. I had us down as starting the season slowly and finishing outside the playoffs by the end of the season, so I’m delighted with the way we have started. One thing that worried me all summer was the fragility of the defence and that has proved to be correct, but I hope and expect Notts to start addressing this in January. Whether or not we do enough to go up isn’t an issue for me because I can see us being even stronger next season and I would rather see us get out of this division stronger and only need to change 3 or 4 players, rather than need 7 or 8 as that has been a recipe for disaster in the past. We will get better, just need to keep picking up as many points as we can before the transfer window opens. LW has been spot on by giving the players who got us promoted a chance to prove themselves, and half a season is more than long enough for them to do so.
  7. Seriously doubt they have the funds to invest in Sampdoria to be honest (even though the old man is minted), would expect it to be more of a business venture on the football radar front, or as @Chrissays a football fan visit.
  8. You would definitely not be wrong with that one!!
  9. Wish you’d post them up later @CliftonMagpieas it’s tea time between 5&6PM. Can’t you post it past 9 o’clock, after @Fan of Big Tone has had his Horlicks?
  10. Nice to see that it is back up and running @Chris and thank you to all involved for their hard work. Rumour has it that although the site was down @Fan of Big Tonewas still able to access it and live on here as normal!
  11. It was all a bit unnecessary really. Rawlo is perfectly entitled to his opinion and probably took offence to Tom’s comments after the first two games of the season. This may have been gnawing at him and after seeing Tom’s post on a different sport, he snapped. Rawlo isn’t a very active tweeter, so probably hasn’t got notifications switched on and was possibly warned it was kicking off by a teammate, hence the slow deletion. Personally, I would have much preferred him to go after Tom for any disparaging remarks on the team rather than a totally random sport.
  12. Totally agree with you @menzinho, I was very disappointed with Stones effort for their second. It was right in front of me and it looked like he was anticipating a touch from the first forward so did not position himself for the actual ball path. Thought Brindley was by far the pick of the back 3, Cameron had a pretty poor game defensively and Baldwin always has a mistake in him, which he needs to work on.
  13. I’m eagerly awaiting the next one, but I have no idea when 6om is!
  14. This is tough as our youth players haven’t been great. The only name I’ve got is a young lad who was on the soccer AM skills school doing tricks and who I saw playing for Stamford a couple of times, and that’s Nathan Fox as I know he was was from Leicester. I think we had him on the bench a couple of times.
  15. Wrexham don’t really play young players though @CliftonMagpie apart from Barnett, O’Connor and occasionally Cleworth. I think most of their first team are 28 years old plus, so Fletcher has been brought in to do a job for a season and will replace Dalby.
  16. Any media coverage is positive when most of it is focussed on West Bridgford, and we seem to be getting quite a bit nowadays (except from the local toilet paper), but I don’t really understand how it actually made the TV as it’s more of a YouTube thing.
  17. Tom Williams has highlighted the goal on his Twitter feed and it definitely looks like Crowley needs to shoulder just as much blame. Wrong pass choice and wrong place to press immediately afterwards. This opened up the field for Harvie, and forced the choice onto Rawlo as what to do.
  18. Mullin played half an hour yesterday, so it will be basically a case of him & one of Palmer, Fletcher, Dalby. I think Wrexham fans have lost confidence in Palmer, so would expect Fletcher to play alongside Mullin.
  19. Certainly would, but I don’t think Keeley is blessed with pace either. Can see two centre halves being on the shopping list for January, any other recruitment will only be because of long term injuries. I like Rawlo, he’s a no nonsense, old fashioned centre half and I would rather have him up against a strong centre forward than any of our other defenders. The issue is his lack of pace. Yesterday, he should have seen that nobody was moving towards Harvie and gone himself, he had to gamble really and hope that he could either make the tackle or force a misdirected pass.
  20. If it was a home game, he might have gone with Randall, but with it being away, against a decent MK side he may take the more cautious option of starting Chicksen, because he is a better defender. Or he may even surprise us and play Nemane/TAR on the left and Austin on the right. We are not lacking in options, but if I was a betting man, I’d say Chicksen, as it is the least disruptive to the lineup.
  21. Can you give plenty of notice as to when you’re posting up the clues @CliftonMagpie? @Fan of Big Tonelives on here and gets about 12 guesses in before any of us have seen it!
  22. Hopefully, Notts are seeing something in this that I’m not. A right back (when we already have 3 players that can play in that position) who can fill in as a CB, it’s a strange choice. I have horrible memories of a few years ago, when all the fans knew that Notts needed some decent Centre Backs but we never signed any, RCB is the one area of the pitch that we need a really good signing for, but we seem to be ignoring it and instead sticking a square peg there as a make do and mend solution. That being said, I hope the new lad proves me wrong and has a belting loan period.
  23. This was my original thinking as to why the bids were turned down. His value to the side is probably of more value than a transfer fee. I did ask the question on Twitter if he has any pace and the reply I’ve had is that he isn’t very quick, more of a solid defensive unit. I’m not sure exactly how that fits our style of play as we need a tall, solid, but mobile CB.
  24. But does he have any pace? I reckon that ship has now sailed. We made two bids for him, both turned down, so we have probably said OK we will leave it. Drogheda have now put it out there in the hope that someone else comes in for him before he gets a free for January. Don’t the owners of Walsall also own Drogheda? Would have thought they would get first option on him if available.
  25. Possibly a meniscus tear if it’s the knee which would mean he’ll be out for a few weeks, hopefully not but can still see him being out for a while and I doubt we will know until the next press conference. Not sure where Morias is at the moment with his fitness but noted he did not make the squad yesterday or the previous game.
