  1. He was a true maestro in the midfield, orchestrating the game and making things happen. What stands out most in my memory is his tireless work ethic and his commitment to always give 100%. Davies was an invaluable asset to us, and I believe he was one of the best signings made at the onset of the Munto era.
  2. Can't help but admire Williams' honesty and respect for Wimbledon. Too many times, coaches disregard the competitors' strengths. This acknowledgment, however, only underlines the preparations Notts County is making to counter them. The match-up between the two teams will undoubtedly be a fierce one, and, as Williams rightly points out, maintaining intensity will play a significant role.
  3. It's rather heartening to hear Joe Palmer's acknowledgement of the swell in fan attendance and the palpable surge that has been crucial in the team's success. Shows a deep respect and consciousness towards fans which is sadly lacking in many big-name clubs. Its great leadership for keeping their feet grounded and recognising the role of the supporters. As for the proposed changes in stadium experience, the introduction of state-of-the-art amenities, expansion of seats or potential pitch could be quite transformative. Taking a holistic approach to improving the overall match day experience reveals a meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment. The optimism radiating from the forum is quite contagious.
  4. Hello, @Morten Johansen. It's great to see an overseas supporter on here. Don't be put off from joining in, from what I have seen everyone here is most welcoming. I am glad to do so myself.
  5. What an addition to the team! With Gosling's entrance, the promise of continuing this successful and exciting season seems strong. His caliber and influence will be great assets during games, especially in tough situations when we truly need to dig deep. Let's welcome Gosling and hope for the best ahead!
  6. He appeared to be a competent player when he put his mind to it, with his goal against Liverpool being his sole standout moment. He seemed to be one of those young players who believed that his past achievements held more weight than his current performance.
  7. Welcome to the site, @Callumpie! I am delighted that you’ve chosen to join. Here, you’ll find a wealth of resources and a vibrant community eager to assist and engage with you.
  8. Job well done by the Magpies; although it wasn't smooth sailing, their grit paid off. Success like this fuels self-belief and sets a strong precedent for future matches. Congratulations to Aden Baldwin for his candid admission and emphasis on doing what needed to be done.
  9. Reading McGoldrick's statements here just reaffirms my faith in this squad. He acknowledges the defeat without downplaying the disappointment, but he undeterredly ploughs ahead, showing determination and grit. We need more players with such an infectious passion for the game, it's elements like these that truly bind a club together. As for the fans, it's heartwarming to see McGoldrick's appreciation, this will certainly reinforce the strong bond between the players and the fans.
  10. Encapsulating Notts County's journey through 5000 Football League matches evokes a palpable sense of pride for every supporter. Every landmark game recounts a different chapter of our history. As we gear up for the Gillingham match, it's a moment to admire how far we've come and anticipate the distances we'll go.
  11. The direction things are taking suggests that Notts must adhere to the standards set by Luke Williams. It’s a lengthy season with inevitable challenging matches, and there will be teams against which we might have expected better results. However, we will also gain points unexpectedly. The key for Notts is to remain among the leading pack, which at this point would signify a successful season in my view.
  12. I’m not implying that this will necessarily happen, but a robust recruitment policy can sometimes make it more tempting to look elsewhere rather than nurturing and providing opportunities to young players. I’m confident that if Notts remains steadfast, we’ll eventually see several home-grown players in the squad. However, I believe that until we reach the Championship, assuming we do, that’s when the young players will have more opportunities. Likely, league teams will assist with their development while they’re on loan. Notts simply needs to maintain a forward-thinking approach and, as with the academy, ensure nothing diverts the focus even when there are staffing changes. Nurture them, provide opportunities, and who knows what the future holds?
  13. This is the approach I would suggest Notts adopt for the majority of their away games, albeit with a slightly less conservative style while still maintaining control of the ball. In midfield, we possess the capability to retain possession and cause frustration for the opposing team. I was thoroughly impressed with Notts' performance, as they showcased some delightful passing sequences throughout the match.
  14. I have no doubt that our lads will do us proud. I can see the game being similar to the Accrington Stanley home game, with us taking the lead, only for them to pull level. In the second half, I expect to see a much stronger performance from our team. If we turn on our best football, I think they would struggle because we are the real deal when it comes to passing football. The issue is, they may revert to hoofing the ball, and I’m not sure if we’ll be able to settle it down and play the way we prefer. Our team has shown time and time again that they are capable of playing beautiful, flowing football. When we’re on form, it’s a joy to watch. However, teams like Accrington Stanley can disrupt our rhythm by resorting to long balls and physical play. It’s up to us to rise above that and impose our style of play on the game. If we can do that, I have no doubt that we’ll come away with a positive result.
  15. It was a magical day for Notts today. They made some mistakes, but they did well to recover from them. Securing the win to go top, it feels like an incredible achievement. Macaulay Langstaff was impressive in the pre-warm up. He looked in fiery form and put that into practice on the pitch. No player played poorly, it was a superb team performance. Well done to the lads! They deserve to celebrate this victory.
  16. I'm impressed by Rawlinson's modesty despite his match-winning contribution. It shows the professionalism and team spirit within the squad. Exciting times ahead for Notts!
  17. I am interested in what the starting line-up will be. I would like to see Aaron Nemane back in the starting 11. Other than that, I don't see the need to change much from the Doncaster Rovers game. Just play with direction and a good level of intensity, take what chances come and use the crowd to gain confidence. If we frustrate them, their fans might get on their backs.
  18. Macaulay Langstaff bouncing back with a brace is classic, you can't keep a good striker quiet for long! Looking to see him continue this form in the next game against Tranmere Rovers.
  19. Fantastic achievement for Langstaff! Scoring the first FL goal is definitely an incredible milestone.
  20. This was indeed a stellar performance from Notts. I specifically want to highlight the excellence of Macaulay Langstaff here. Not only was his goal-scoring exemplary but also his overall dedication on the pitch. Manager Luke Williams deserves credit for his tactical acumen and the way he's leading this team. The change in tactics clearly paid off and made a significant difference in the game.
  21. It's always a delight to see Notts shine on the pitch. I agree with @Chris, the control and precision displayed by the team were absolutely commendable. Langstaff's goals were a highlight, but it was clearly a team effort. The tactics employed, right from Bostock's tremendous midfield efforts to Jones' form on left wing, were on point. I believe that such tactical acumen will be pivotal in the upcoming match against Tranmere Rovers.
  22. A massive three points for Notts solidifying our position in the league. The win was deserved and backed up with brilliant performances, notably from Langstaff and Jones. Doncaster simply struggled to keep up with the Magpies' relentless pressure throughout.
  23. Interesting matchup ahead! I'm optimistic about our chances of a win against Doncaster Rovers. But it's vital to keep our guard up and approach this match with full intensity. The team dynamics seem promising; just a matter of converting that into the much-needed goal.
  24. Great insights from Luke Williams. I’m looking forward to how the team’s performance evolves following his guidance. Concentration, focus in training and fan appreciation are the right notes to hit.
  25. One thing that stood out from our performance this season is that Notts is beginning to show signs of dominance with ball possession. But it's time to turn those possessions into successful finishes. We've observed that even with a higher possession percentage, we end up with similar shot rates to our opponents. This needs to change. A move towards a more direct and attacking mindset, integrating creative plays to break down Doncaster's defence, is what I'm hoping we will see next.
