  1. Me and Freddie ride again Blackburn Rovers 1 v 1 Charlton Athletic Hull City 2 v 0 Watford Plymouth Argyle 3 v 1 Burton Albion Reading 2 v 2 Stockport County Wycombe Wanderers 0 v 2 AFC Wimbledon 🃏 Barnet 1 v 2 Crewe Alexandra Barrow 1 v 0 Bristol Rovers Walsall 2 v 2 Fleetwood Town All picked by Freddie the Ferocious Ferret, under the guiding hand of best friend and confidant Michael.
  2. Simple answer to yesterday, poor performance by the whole team, including management and no plan 'B' 10,000 fans gave up their plans and hard earned money to support the team, with what reaction, simply nothing. Even staunch, dedicated fans are questioning the choices, playing style and application. Let's hope that we can re-boot and come out with something against Gillingham. ⚽️
  3. Embrace 2026. Another year again sails on by, Quicker than a blink of your eye. Looking back have no regret, Of failing targets not been met. Forward thinking into pasturesnew, Planning for the future is good to do. Attempting things not tried before, Swimming, gym, a spin on the dance floor. Whatever journey comes your way, Tread the path of courage, and on it stay. A Kaleidoscope of chance will present, Sculpturing your life to some extent. Grasp everything you can with open arms, Make life happy without any qualms. This message is sent with love and a tear, We wish one and all a Happy New Year. Michael and Tracey. COYP.
  4. Great to hear you are enjoying family time in Norfolk, the RSPB reserve is a place i would love to go, what a wonderful variety of wild birds you saw. Sounds like a lovely evening awaits and with the odd tipple to boot. Enjoy your time together it is very special. Happy New Year to you and yours.
  5. Enter "The Ferret" a bit like enter the dragon but without Bruce Lee. Southampton 3 v 1 Millwall Swansea City 2 v 2 West Bromwich Albion Leyton Orient 1 v 2 AFC Wimbledon Reading 2 v 1 Burton Albion 🃏 Wigan Athletic 1 v 1 Barnsley Fleetwood Town 2 v 1 Grimsby Town Shrewsbury Town 0 v 2 Bristol Rovers Swindon Town 2 v 1 Gillingham A collective from Michael & Freddie to bring joy and peace into the New Year.
  6. Rod Macdonald would of been top of my tree, but injury sidelined him and the rest is history. Tom Iorpenda even after the ups and downs has settled and now is in a class of his own. Looking forwards to watching him for the rest of the season. Without Matthew Dennis and his goals, where would we be. Seems to drift in and out of games to me, but a good asset to the squad. Jacob Bedeau a great defender, playing with total confidence, enhanced now with the captains armband is my pick of the bunch. This season (I agree with @theAnticlough ) the depth of squad players, and quality at that, is giving Martin good all round backup whichever team he picks. And as @Robbie says Consistency is now the key to where we go and where we end up. COYP
  7. Believe in my aid "The footballFerret" He chooses the scores. Leicester City 2 v 1 Derby County Oxford United 1 v 3 Swansea City Blackpool 1 v 1 Rotherham United Peterborough United 2 v 0 Reading 🃏 Plymouth Argyle 0 v 2 Wycombe Wanderers Chesterfield 3 v 1 Cambridge United Gillingham 2 v 2 Colchester United Grimsby Town 1 v 0 Shrewsbury Town Come on Freddie do your thing.
  8. Platt was the only stand out player for me, but after the first 25 or so minutes we disappeared. No fight no cohesion nothing.
  9. Christmas Gratitude. Christmas time is here again, Is it perfume or could be a Train. A visit from Santa guaranteed, Maybe he's brought a trusty steed. The pressure is on Mum and Dad, Get it right or someone will be sad. Hope you've listened to every chat, Idea's galore gleaned from that. The latest trend or fashion phase, Will bring a smile to their face. A little tech that's up to date, Everyone's dream, it's not too late. Whatever gift you are fortunate to receive, Be happy, grateful and always believe. Merry Christmas to one and all. 🎄🎉
  10. Boxing day Pies. Now then crunch time is nigh, Notts County aiming for the sky. All players fit ready and well, Giving Martin the job from hell. We the fans stand side by side, Beating hearts full of pride. Boxing day at 3 is the time, They put their bodies on the line. Chesterfield the team to beat, Hope they can deal with defeat.
  11. Nice piece of poetry @DangerousSausage one to be proud of. 12. @Michael D Pie. wins the prize for best poetry, but unfortunately there are no points for that. Thank you for that wonderful accolade @DangerousSausage but that will not put grub on the table. A second thank you for all the work you do, just to keep us on the edge of reality looking to get it right, well at least get more than 1 or 2 or even 3 😁 I know keep trying (not dancing). 😖⚽️
  13. One of the best footballing performances of this season by the boys today. Every individual gave their all, and that made for a great game, just the goals were missing from that performance and what can you expect when top of the league turns up purposely to spoil and parks the bus. A point keeps us up there where we need to be, within striking distance of the pinnacle. An unbeaten December, let's keep it that way at Chesterfield this Boxing Day. COYP.
  14. 8 more sleeps to go, ho ho ho ho ho. QPR 1 v 3 Leicester City🃏 Sheffield United 2 v 2 Birmingham City Doncaster Rovers 2 v 0 Plymouth Argyle Lincoln City 1 v 1 Cardiff City Rotherham United 2 v 1 Huddersfield Town Barnet 1 v 2 Salford City Fleetwood Town 0 v 1 Gillingham Oldham Athletic 2 v 1 Tranmere Rovers After all games this weekend, Only one message we shall send. All will be staring up at the summit, Not on the telly, Wallace and Gromit. Top of league 2 will be no surprise, Looking down on all others, the Super Pies. COYP.
  15. I agree with @Robbie sometimes the order of the dark arts becomes a necessity, and all teams utilise this when necessary. Our Team did what they needed to do and showed the confidence of togetherness and working for each other, all we need now is another gritty performance against Walsall on Saturday. COYP ⚽
  16. Another gritty performance by the boys. I think slowly but surely Martin is building a team that is resilient to the 90 plus minutes games both home and away. I agree with @theAnticlough Bedau was solid in defence and Matty Dennis played very well, putting in a great performance with another exquisite finish for us. Bring on Walsall. COYP.
  17. Avast there me hearties, splice the main brace. Portsmouth 2 v 1 Blackburn Rovers Wrexham 3 v 0 Watford 🃏 Burton Albion 1 v 1 Wycombe Wanderers Peterborough United 2 v 2 Northampton Town Stockport County1 v 0 Stevenage Cheltenham Town1 v 2 Harrogate Town Chesterfield 2 v 2 Barnet Crawley Town 1 v 2 Oldham Athletic Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. Good luck and all the best to all participants.
  18. What a match, the ups and downs of supporting this wonderful team. One down in less than 3 minutes, then a phenomenal goal from Mr Dennis only to fall foul of a 50/50 typical wrestling match and the official (another not very good one at that) gives a penalty 2-1 down. Mr reliable then puts us back to 2-2 and all within the first 25 minutes, not to mention Mr Iorpenda and his unfortunate miss. Time to take a breath it's half time. Mixed up second half, with both teams working for that finish, enabling a further climb up towards the division 2 summit. In the 88th minute Tom comes up with the goods and the ground erupts, what fantastic celebrations. Then knocked back down to earth with the showing of a further 9 minutes to endure, nightmare. But all comes to those who have to wait, another deserved win under our belts. COYP. What a superb team effort 👌
  19. I saw the content and how long it was to go on for and decided unanimously not to watch. This wonderful stage of the best footballers this planet can offer has been turned into a Circus for money makers. No thought of climate, travel distances and cost have been taken into consideration. A chance in a lifetime has been made unrealistic for most. Players once again are expected to train and perform in temperatures most would only lie in. To top it all that person @Fan of Big Tone talked about thinks it's his and his only show and that's all you'll hear next year, and as far as peace goes, he's done nothing other than wine and dine the person who awards this inanimate object???
  20. It was cold as we packed the car to leave this morning. That sounds idyllic @Fan of Big Tone like you say family, moreso these days is so important. They bring light and effervescence to a dull old world. Staying in the nice warmth and enjoying food together is so special, something that has been done and loved for centuries. I hope you all have a wonderful time together. 👍👌
  21. Today the rain tried today to scupper all activities and failed 🙃. From face painting to climbing to pottery to painting and badminton all was accomplished successfully without duress. Even persuaded a squirrel (one of many) to come close enough for a little chat and feed. The evening finished off with a perfect Indian takeaway and a quiz, who could want for more 😋. Home tomorrow morning after picking up the doggies. A lovely family break for one and all. ✨️
  22. Lovely day here today, played badminton followed by table tennis, slightly worse for wear but where there's a will there's a way. 🥵😁 Had the privilege of seeing Santa and his enterage, the kids loved it.
  23. Glad to hear all went well @Fan of Big Tone all the best for your recovery. Monday the 1st meeting up family to go into Centre Parcs for the week. Looking forward to some peace and quiet but I don't think that will be forthcoming. Tuesday and the rain has gone, what a beautiful morning, we could be anywhere in the world. Birds, squirrels, moorhens and ducks in abundance. We have a fantastic view from our bedroom, Forestry galore. Nice walk to the dome this morning for water indulgence and entertainment. This place is wonderful and all ready for Christmas, with Santa and his Raindeer, elves and lots of parafanalia for this time of year.
  24. Not our best game, but coming away with 3 points is priceless. Having some of the luck go our way for a change was good (They had 3 shots hit the woodwork) and we battled for the victory. A crucial moment came from our second half substitutions made at the right time, fresh legs of Gordon and Dennis proved positive. The whole game was a hard watch but who cares when we do the business. COYP
  25. I agree with both @Fan of Big Tone and @McPie the proverbial door is now open. So if the bench regulars are keen enough and want it this is a perfect opportunity for them to shine, make a statement to the gaffer so he has to play them. Good luck one and all. ⚽️✨️
